Bring friends and family to this private summer cottage on 100 feet of beautiful lakefront property on North Manistique Lake, commonly known as Round Lake. It's located near Germfask in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The cottage works well for one family or two small families. It sits 30 feet from the lake and is located safely off the road with plenty of privacy including friendly weekend only neighbors on one side and a wooded lot on the other.
Although it can sleep up to 9, the cottage is best suited for 6-7 people with a full bed in each bedroom and an additional sleeping loft with 5 twin beds. Many windows bring in lots of sunlight and airflow. You'll also find the recently renovated bathroom on the main floor. Linens are provided so you don't have to worry about packing those! Be prepared to create your favorite home-cooked meals in the fully-equipped kitchen with everything you'll need. While dinner is prepared, others can lounge in the large sitting room and play games at the table as they wait or play a DVD on the TV.
You'll most likely want to spend your days out back on the sandy beach. The lake is perfect for swimming, sun bathing, fishing, boating and other water sports. The gradual drop off is perfect for the children with 50 feet of shallow water before the drop off. Feel free to take the canoe or paddleboat out on the water! There is a boat launch just 5 minutes away, so you can even bring your own boat if you'd like. You are welcome to anchor your boat safely out front.
Curtis Michigan is a great little town with restaurants and a few shops to browse. You can also rent water craft. Other interesting things to do in the area include Oswald's Bear Ranch with over 20 bears and cubs, Tahquamenon Falls State Park, Northland Outfitters Canoe Trips, Lake Michigan Beach, Whitefish Point and Great Lake Shipwreck Museum, GarLyn Zoo and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. From Munising, you can also take a boat tour of the shoreline which is breathtaking. Or take a short hike yourself and see a few of the key sights.
