Relax in our convenient Deluxe Sized condo on the ground floor at Casa De Emdeko. Close to the cabana and barbeque areas. Just steps away from pool. Condo has been recently upgraded and features stainless steel appliances, new cabinets , new furnishings and competely remodeled bathroom with new fixtures. This condo has all the amenities, including Central A/C, cable TV and Internet. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom and queen size sofa bed in the living room. Bathroom features large walk-in shower, vanity, granite countertop and washer/dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped for casual dining or island entertaining.
Casa De Emdeko oceanfront complex is located oceanfront side of Alii Drive, right in the heart of Kailua-Kona. The complex offers a comfortable lobby, pleasant pond and garden area, freshwater pool with chairs and tables for lounging, large cabana with serving area, barbeques and dining area, direct oceanfront beach area with chairs to enjoy the sun and the saltwater pool at the oceans edge.
There is so much to do on the Big Island-swim on the white sand beach, or visit beaches with green, black, or red sand, boogey board on the disappearing White Sands Beach, surf, snorkel (our favorite spot is nearby Keahou Bay), dive day and night among lava caves, whale watch, swim with dolphins, watch sea life, visit Volcanoes National Park and explore lush lava caves, horse back riding in the Waiopio Valley, ride a bike, run the Iron Man, visit a waterfall and swim in the cool pool, see tropical gardens and buy orchids, eat, drink and be merry, rest, relax or run all over the Big Island.

We have rented several units through VRBO in the past, in both Hawaii and Mexico, and this was hands down, the nicest, cleanest, best equipped unit we've ever had. The first impression of the complex is that it is older, which is accurate, but the grounds are very well maintained, and both pools were very clean. The residents/guests tend to be a more mature crowd, with the average age being in the 60-65 range, but it's a very friendly group. Make sure you take advantage of the daily "Sunset Club", and watch the sun go down at around 6:15-6:30. Get there early to get a good table, as the longer term residents start to gather at about 5:30. There are also 3 large Weber grills for BBQ'ing that are well used, but never with any wait for cooking space.
The unit itself (with the exception of the stucco outer walls, which likely can't be changed due to condo regs) has been totally updated. The bedroom features a 100% memory foam mattress, which was ridiculously comfortable, and a ceiling fan right over the bed, which makes the AC (which does work great) moot. The bathroom features a separate water closet for the toilet, as well as a tiled shower and new washer/dryer, and no issues at all with hot water. The kitchen is fully redone, and very well stocked. My only "complaint" would be that there was no way to fully turn off the wine fridge (which we didn't need) and I felt bad wasting electricity, which is expensive in HI. The lanai is very private, and although it doesn't get mcuh sun, was a more than comfortable place to eat breakfast every day.
An added benefit was a nice collection of beach chairs, mats, coolers, umbrellas and boogie boards, which made our almost daily trips up to Hapuna Beach much more enjoyable.
I'd recommend this unit to just about anyone, with the possible exception being those with young children. There just aren't many of them around the complex, and the overall atmosphere is quiet, so the normal noise that your kids would make would stand out, and might make you self conscious.
Thanks for a great stay to Ron & Natasha. Booking was effortless, and with the electronic door lock system, there were no issues with getting keys from someone, leading to a stress free arrival.
We enjoyed our time at this property. The condo was very clean and well equipped. The kitchen was more than we needed... We especially enjoyed having a washer and dryer in the unit - was very convenient! The only suggestions would be to fix the light at the back entrance as it is quite dark coming in at night.. Also the shower had a musty smell. The cleaning lady did her best and I constantly cleaned it with bleach but it still would come back... We also had an issue with two cockroaches in the condo while we were there. I realize that can be common on the island and it certainly was not because the unit wasn't clean. It was upsetting nevertheless. The contact person (Ron) for the condo was excellent. He came right over when we called him and took care of everything for us. Although she was sometimes hard to reach, Natasha was really wonderful to deal with as well. She was always pleasant and accommodating! We especially appreciated the complimentary cleaning midstay. The complex itself was nice. The grounds are very pretty and well kept. We loved that it was ocean front. The barbeques and patio area out front are great. We used the area lots during our stay. We would have liked our condo to have been in a sunnier location. We did not use our lanai a lot because it was pretty shady and we weren't thrilled with the location by the pool but in the scheme of things it wasn't a major thing... We did really like the ground floor location. Most of the clientel were fairly elderly so I'm not sure I would recommend this for young couples. Overall, our stay was great! We had a fantastic holiday and had the opportunity to visit a lot of the island during our three week stay! We would recommend a few things to other travellers:
Eat at - Jackie Reys, Da Poke Shack, Huggos
See and Do - Mauna Kea, Green Sand Beach, Hilo and area - beautiful and very different part of the island, Hula Daddy Coffee Tour, Paradise Helicopters, Lepika Sportfishing
Shopping - KTA and Costco for groceries and fresh fish, Macys, ABC Stores...

This is an exceptionally well-provisioned, fully-upgraded condo in a perfect resort setting. The first thing that struck us when we first arrived was how clean and fully provisioned the unit was. In addition to the outstanding kitchen that had everything that guests could ever need, the condo was fully equipped with an abundance of nice towels and linens, as well as full cupboards of supplies. The newly remodelled bathroom with the walk-in shower and new washer and drier made it very comfortable and convenient for our stay.
The resort was very well maintained and peaceful. The salt-water pool overlooking the ocean was a highlight, along with the well-manicured grounds and facilities. We really enjoyed the quiet, tranquil setting of the resort, and the other tenants and visitors were very friendly and welcoming. The service we had from Natasha was superb - right from the original inquiry, through to our booking, check-in and requests for additional information and assistance. All of this made our vacation on The Big Island one of the best we have ever had!
Besides being a beautiful, well-appointed condo, with helpful grounds staff and friendly neighbors, A110 afforded privacy and comfort. We saw the whole island in our 10 day visit, and our Kailua-Kona base was perfect! (We did spend an overnight in Volcano so as to experience Kilauea at her finest after-dark.) Early morning walks, biking into town, amazing sunsets, farmers' market across the street - this has it all!
We just spent a month in this condo over the holidays. It had everything we needed and everything was high quality. We slept wonderfully on the Temperpedic bed. And it is so convenient to have a washer and dryer in the condo. We took the beach chairs and boogie board out on our adventures. The condo grounds are very nice and we like the location.
