We have enjoyed this property as a 'family compound' since we purchased it in 2000. We love this area and this property is simply a slice of heaven.
We enjoy each of the unique seasons the area has to offer. We enjoy swimming and floating on the river during the summer...there is no better place to be found. Regardless of the season, the year-round flow of the river is absolutely beautiful and relaxing.
I am sure most reviewers have covered most of the details so i will try and keep it concise. This property is in a magical, secluded location - full stop.
But there is wifi! - I didn't even know this till i got there. And a phone, but little else (no cable so if you want to watch a show, bring your laptop and stream). You will get zero cell ph here but all carriers are represented in town a few miles away (Verizon is just now installing a tower i heard).
The house is comfortable for a short stay and while it's certainly not high end at all, you're also not paying high end as you know if you shopped around. I feel the price paid was well worth what we got in return. I think my singular issue was simply the dining room table, which is two fold up tables covered with a large plastic picnic table cover. It's ok, and not that i really cared, but it spoiled the ambiance of what is otherwise a cool 70s decor. Someone could get picky and say the place is outdated but i rather liked it. Some of the fixtures are waaay cool and i know people who would pay money for some of this stuff.
Like i said, other than that, no complaints and if he totally fixed the place up then we'd be paying $325 a night so, i am fine on the decor!
And then, of course, there's the entire reason we all choose this place - it is sitting on one of THE sweetest spots on the river (of all the rivers that flow through this area). We're actually looking for a property to buy up here so we spent two entire days driving around the area and pretty well covered it all and this spot is practically unique.
PS: Best place to eat in town, hands down, is the Ol' Buckaroo. We ate there every meal and it was amazing food and being from LA I've always had a good choice of eateries so u could say ui am spoiled.
We had an amazing time staying here for a weekend in October. House is very comfortable, clean, and well stocked. Exactly what we needed. Property is tranquil and very relaxing. We spent more time here than we did at the parks! Owners were very accommodating with our dates and times. Cant wait to stay again, will be booking another weekend soon!
We had a FANTASTIC time. Excellent river swimming in you own private swimming hole. My 10 yr old son and friend loved the swimming. Sequoia Nat'l Park was 20 mins away. There is no cell or TV reception, so be sure to bring lots of DVD's to watch if you'll be staying indoors. My son wants to return next year. Great summer vacation spot!! Home is older, but has all your needs.
The home is as advertised. Cute little house, very isolated, with a great location on the river and very close to the park entrance.
Our family had an amazing stay at this beautiful property. It is quiet and secluded, with gorgeous views from every window. We played in the river, went exploring, played horse shoes, sat in the hammock, tried our hand with the bow and arrow, and just soaked in the serenity and beauty! The location is close to Sequoia where we drove and had an amazing time among the giant trees. Then we loved returning to our "home" and relaxing. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful property with our family.
We loved this property. Secluded property with wonderful access to the river. We went in the fall and the leaves were beautiful. The property was easy to locate because of the information the owner provided. The information was great regarding the property and suggested things to do in the area as well as the check out list and additional information. The house was clean and well maintained with extra towels and blanket available. Would be great for families with older children. Will stay there again.
