About Mary Hennessy
The 'Henn Haus' is a family built and owned property of the Hennessy Family. Marge and Slim raised all nine of there children to place a high value on family. After their deaths the siblings decided to build a family gathering place to carry on the tradition of large family get-togethers. That is when the 'Henn Haus' was born. With the growth of the family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren the tradition lives on and we use the 'Henn Haus' for these and many other events. Many family members do not live close enough to the property to get year around use and we decided to share it with you through VRBO!
Mary Hennessy purchased this lodge in 2007
Why Mary Hennessy chose Absarokee
We, the Hennessy Group, were born and raised in Montana and many of us have since moved to other parts of the United States. However, being able to return to Montana and enjoy vacations where we grew up was important. The area also provides fishing, skiing, hiking and pure relaxation which we all enjoy.
What makes this lodge unique
The property is only ten miles from a wonderful Montana town called Absarokee (meaning Crow as 'Crow' Indians) and has a lot of Montana history in its shops and art museum. White water rafting, horseback riding, ATV rentals are all available in Absarokee. Just 40 miles to the south is Red Lodge, Montana and the base of the famous 'Beartooth' highway, which leads you into the North-East entrance to Yellowstone Park. Hiking trails up the Stillwater and Rosebud Rivers provide some of the best scenic views in the world.
Guestbook comments from the owner
I used the cabin for a business retreat and it gave my group an opportunity to really focus on the upcoming season. We were able to take time during the day to accomplish the agenda yet spend some quality time getting to know the group in an atmospher that was relaxing and buetiful.
"What a Great Place!"
