Location, Location and Location!
Location, Location and Location!
We did not have a good experience with this apt. We booked for just over three weeks. When we arrived, we were given a nice supply of towels for one week and were told that the maid would come after noon so as not to disturb us. By the middle of the second week, we realized that there was no maid. On our own time and expense, we went to the laundromat and washed our towels. However, the worst part was at about the some time a leak developed in the ceiling of the bathroom which sprayed us with water whenever the people in the unit above us showered or flushed. It was disgusting. We called the number we were given to call in case of emergency, but there was no answer or voice mail. Luckily the unit above was occupied for only about three days, but even so being sprayed with water was unacceptable. In the future we will only rent from on site management as an unresponsive emergency number is no good. There must be a better place in the same area. Also, the apt would be unbearable hot in the summer.
This apartment was just as it was described in the ad and Enzo was quite responsive when it came to booking - we booked at the last minute. It was very clean, comfortable & in a great location. It was close to the Louvre and a ton of other major attractions.
We read the review of the person complaining about the size of the shower and it was just fine. Anyone on the heavier side is going to have challenges in Paris - period. Most people in France aren't large and their living quarters reflect that. Makes sense to me!
We were two women traveling in Paris and felt very safe coming in and out of the building. I definitely recommend this apartment.
We were happy with most everything with the apt. and shall comment on both the positive & negative. The location in Paris was excellent-very close to Notre Dame and the Louvre. The Closest Metro was only a few steps away from the end of our street. That enabled us to go everywhere. There was a great market nearby as well. Security at the apt was very good. Building was very clean & quiet. Our deposit was returned immediately-the manager was very courteous & helpful. Most photos on the website are accurate but some need to be updated. There is no large TV but only a very small table-top tv. Also, there is very little televised in English so it doesn't matter too much! The kitchenette is very small but satisfactory-remember, you are on vacation so eat out often! Remember, you are in PARIS! The bed was much too soft-mattress needs to be replaced. There were only 2 pillows for sleeping. There was no top sheet-only a duvet. Seems that may be a custom in Europe. We were also limited to only 2 bath towels-a major shortcoming. The biggest issue we had was the small shower stall. I am a 190-pound male and I was touching 3 walls at the same time during the shower. It was nearly impossible to bend down to wash the lower half of your body without bumping your head on a wall or on the faucet handle and if you hit the handle, the temperature of the water would suddenly change drastically! In addition, the stall was elevated about one foot above the bathroom floor and stepping up into it (or out with wet feet) was dangerous). It only had a curtain to cover the very narrow opening (no door). Now you know why there is no picture of the shower. If you weigh 250 or more you'll never get in it! Even with these couple of issues, we still rated the apt. as Good, just not excellent. If the shower was larger and the other issues were improved, then it would be excellent.
You won't find a more perfectly located apartment for a Paris vacation. Walking distance to the Louvre, the Notre Dame, all the river-side attractions, and right next to the perfectly situated Chatelet subway station, you'll find your way to anywhere you need to go in Paris easily. The apartment is as described, clean, comfortable, cozy, easily accessible. It has everything you need. The nice woman who lets you in is full of helpful information about the neighborhood and greater Paris. We'd stay here again.
Everything was just as advertised. Great location. Safe and surprisingly quiet. I understand the other reviews comments about the size of the shower. Could be larger but it was fine. Local manager was very nice, thorough and prompt. Security deposit was returned in a timely fashion. Would gladly stay again.
The apartment was perfect for my friend and I. It was very safe for two women. As mentioned in other reviews, there are some homeless men who seem to live on the street. We saw the same men each day. They never bothered us or asked for handouts.
The pictures on VRBO and description are very accurate. It is nicely decorated. The pull out bed is comfortable. The apartment and building are very clean and quiet. I think it would be somewhat tight for 4 adults, but it would be doable. Also, the shower is small (like many European hotels), and would be a challenge for a tall or large person. It is just fine for average sized men and women. The water pressure was terrific, as was the temperature control.
We especially appreciated being able to buy groceries in the well appointed store below, walk a 1/2 block to the metro or bus stop, and walk to the Louvre, Tuileries, Marais, Seine, etc. The wifi connection was good and consistent during our entire visit.
The manager was very helpful and prompt. And, we got out deposit back on the day we vacated after the manager did a quick walk-through.
I would stay here again, and I have already recommended the apartment to several co-workers.
