The lake is warm and there's alot going on. Blue Coast Art tours, winery tours, bike riding (we have 10+ free bikes for you), hiking the Dunes, free tennis, golf (we have golf clubs) and campfires on the beach are memories to be made.
'BEACH WALK' family vacation home is located right between South Haven and Saugatuck. Our neighborhood community of Glenn Haven Shores enjoys gated access to its' own private beach. Tennis, Ping Pong, XBox 360, Direct TV, free bikes, golf clubs, beach chairs, and hula hoops to hammocks!.
NO stairs to get to our beach. Our beach is about a 1 minute drive w/shady, free parking OR a 5 minute brisk walk from the house. Our home is not lake front and does not have a lake view. What we do have is a very nice gated access to our neighborhood association's private beach - walk down or drive down.
Mornings with a cup of coffee we're often the only ones there scooping up beach glass treasures! Campfires, alcohol and leashed pets are allowed on our private beach. These are not allowed on the public beaches in the South Haven to Saugatuck area.
Our beach is also more accessible to physical challenges due to lack of stairs and drive down option.
Sunset Park is yet another nice spot that's also privately owned by our association and sits on the bluff overlooking the lake with a couple benches. It's about a 3 min. walk from the house with a glass of wine & a delightful spot to enjoy the sunset.
Pack up a couple beach chairs and an umbrella (they're in our garage), and grab a cooler while you're out there. Get a book from our library shelves and head down for a relaxing afternoon beachside! Now you're on vacation.
At the beach, there's a foot wash, and in the summer season there's also a portable toilet. We frequently find beach glass and Petoskey stones on our beach.
'BEACH WALK' Michigan family vacation rental home is awaiting your arrival. A light, bright, open home layout provides several different 'conversation areas' while providing some separation for a larger group or family.
Enjoy the cozy fireplace room w/a library and games, This room also features a leather rocker / recliner, a full size sofa, child's rocker, and a loveseat.
'We appreciate that you pay such attention to detail' is a comment we get frequently from guests and a compliment that I most appreciate. We know that you arrive at Beach Walk ready to start your vacation and we strive to make sure everything is clean, in working order and 'ship shape'.
Our TV room has cable TV, DVD, stereo with CD, a full size sofa, loveseat, comfy armchair, ottoman, and wicker rocker. Wireless internet is provided for your laptop computer.
The kitchen is fully equipped. We also provide paper products and dish soap. The kitchen provides a center island with 2 bar stools as well as kitchen table seating for 7. There is additional seating in the adjoining dining room table for 6 more. A highchair and booster chair are available as well.
The bathrooms are well-stocked with towels and washcloths as well as paper products and hand soap. We do ask that you provide your own beach towels.
2.5 Baths: There is a full bath with tub/shower combo upstairs. There's an additional full bath with garden tub and shower combo off the main level master bedroom, and there is a convenient half bath just off the kitchen.
3+Bedrooms are comfortably furnished with fresh linens, pillows, blankets and comforters. Bedrooms are laid out as follows: Master on the main floor with a queen bed, cable TV and adjoining full bath. Upstairs there is a very large bedroom with a queen size bed, a twin size bed, and a twin trundle bed (an additional twin that pops out from under the top twin and the 2 beds side-by-side are the size of a king-size bed). This room will sleep 5. There is also a table w/4 chairs in this room. This makes a nice room for a family as it has the game table and cable TV/DVD. We also have 2 mesh rails that can be added to any bed if you have a child that might roll out.
The second upstairs bedroom features a queen bed and cable TV. Both upstairs bedrooms have their own remote controlled air conditioning (in addition to central air) for your added comfort. The upstairs has a full bath and there is an additional twin bed in the hall/loft area upstairs.
A full-sized crib and/or a pack & play are available.
The house has central air and heating and full garage w/opener. Furnished front porch area is one of our favorite spots. Deck and patio area in back with umbrella tables and multiple chairs. Nice lawn area in front and back. Hammock in a shady area of the back yard.
We frequently see deer, tree frogs, hummingbirds, rabbits, and the Southwest Michigan black squirrels. Gas grill, Weber charcoal grill, and grill tools. Firewood usually available to take to the beach for campfires.
Other amenities include: iron and ironing board, washer, dryer, and hairdryers. We provide clothes detergent and dryer sheets. We also provide beach chairs and umbrellas, water toys, coolers, lawn games, multiple bicycles, golf club sets, a ping pong table, and tennis rackets and balls. We know you can only bring so much in your car, so we try to provide most of what you need.
There are tennis courts available for your use about a 1 minute walk away. You can see the fence from our front porch and we have tennis rackets/balls. Our home is on a cul-de-sac and the area around and down to the beach is lovely for walking and/or bike riding.
A well-behaved pet will be considered (pet fee applies). We provide our guests with a resource binder to use for the towns of South Haven Michigan (10 minutes away), Saugatuck Michigan (12 minutes away), Glenn Michigan (2 minutes away) and surrounding areas.
