Paphos and the local area: Paphos, situated on the south west coast of the island, is without exaggeration probably the most beautiful place in Cyprus. As a home of marvellous treasures of world class prompted the UNESCO to list Paphos as a World Heritage Town in 1980. The Dionysos wine mosaics are here as well as many other wonderful antiquities, beautiful churches and monasteries. Various restaurants in the picturesque harbour, which is dominated by a Byzantine castle, give you the opportunity to enjoy the culinary art and the well known hospitality of Cyprus.
