This was our second year staying at Golden Cottage and we adored it just as much as our first stay. The house is located in our very favorite part of Pigeon Cove, which is our favorite part of greater Rockport. The ocean views from inside the house and out are breath taking. The house affords every comfort. We are hooked.
This was our second summer at the Golden Cottage and it was more enjoyable than the first. The set up of the home, the great views and perfect location make the Golden Cottage a great family gathering spot. Don't miss the Lobster Pot, best lobsters ever and for a special night we would recommend The Market Restaurant in Gloucester.
We had a wonderful week at Golden Cottage. Nine family members had come together to celebrate Thanksgiving. The kitchen and dinning room with its wonderful views of the ocean is where we spent most of the time. We ate, drank, laughed and enjoyed each others company. The weather was wintry wild most of the time but we were toasty warm inside. The cooks in the group found the kitchen to function well and we were all treated to many culinary delights. At night we all slept well in surprisingly comfortable toasty warm beds. On the few good weather days, the young folks had a wonderful time hiking and exploring the surrounding area. We couldn't have asked for anything better.
We loved our week in Rockport. The place was great because it was far enough from town to feel quiet and relaxed but close enough to town to enjoy meals out, shopping etc. we enjoyed great walks in the neighborhood and on the sea shore. Also loved that it was close enough to Boston for day trips. The house was comfortable and lovely. Thanks so much for a lovely vacation!
Our week at the cottage was exactly what we wanted. Comfortable hanging out and cooking space. Great views and sunsets. Easy walk to a rocky beach.
Upon arrival, the cottage has that old cape charm to it. Entering the front door one is in awe of the cleanliness and the spaciousness of the house. There was enough room for the nine of us to have our meals together without being cramped. This house is close enough to take a short trip to the grocery store or into Rockport for the day. The view from the back deck was absolutely breathtaking and I must add that the neighbors were friendly and courteous. I would highly recommend this house.
