Gorgeous contemporary custom home in quiet Basalt neighborhood. This 3100 square foot house features a top-of-the-line gourmet kitchen and striking “wine wall” in the dining room. Kitchen features white granite counters, a 6-burner gas stove, double wall ovens and complete cooking/serving accessories. A modern, stone-filled fireplace warms the living room. The open floor plan is great for entertaining or family gatherings, and the beautiful modern architecture and extensive custom detailing make for a very special house. Enormous windows throughout ensure that the home is light-filled and sunny.
The master bedroom, with king bed, features an entire wall of windows looking out onto ranch land and mountain side. A deck off the master bedroom allows for further enjoyment of the view. The serene master bath offers a separate shower and soaking tub.
The guestroom has a queen bed, while bedrooms three and four have a full size and twin bed respectively. All rooms have private baths and down comforters. There is also a small extra room (currently used as a meditation room) that can be set up as a bedroom which would share a bath. A comfortable Japanese–style futon can be added to any bedroom for an additional person.
Wi-Fi and an office ensure that you can keep in touch during your visit. A four-zone stereo system, including outdoor speakers on the large back patio, enhances your entertainment possibilities.
A heated two car garage makes winter driving more comfortable—no freezing car seats or windshields to scrape.
The house is less than a mile from downtown Basalt, a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bike or car ride. There are two “townie” bikes that may be used if you want to feel like a real local (we ride to town pretty much year round). A park with playground is across the street—it is used only by a few people in the neighborhood, so it offers a nice view and many trees but remains quiet.
Basalt is a great small town with several good restaurants, a terrific coffee shop and yummy bakery. Many neat stores are worth checking out. A vibrant farmer’s market takes over downtown on Sundays throughout the summer. Basalt is famous for its gold metal fly fishing waters, fishable year round for the dedicated. There are several great golf courses in the area—The Roaring Fork Club can even be accessed by bike on the Rio Grande bike trail. Use Basalt as a base for biking, hiking, rafting, skiing and all the other outdoor and cultural activities of the Roaring Fork Valley.
Aspen and Snowmass lie an easy 18 miles upvalley—all on the highway. You can reach any of Aspen/Snowmass’ four ski mountains, downtown restaurants, bars, night life, shopping, and cultural activities in 25 minutes. As well, our location in Basalt allows easy access to the funky and charming small town of Carbondale (with some of the best eating in the valley) and the Glenwood Springs Hot Springs and Sunlight Ski area.

We have lived in the Aspen/Basalt area for a good part of our lives. There are few places we love as much for outdoor adventure, good food, kid's activities, and enjoying life. We are a health-minded and active family. We love to travel and experience new places. We hope that our house will make your trip to Colorado extra special.
