Just outside the hustle bustle of the city of Asheville, you will find great Mountain Serenity with us at our Log Cabin.
You will drive through the small creek up the quiet gravel road where Glenn Acres begins. We have 13 beautiful acres among immense trees and wildflowers. Enjoy the wildlife or just have a picnic by the mountain stream or trout pond. Our goal is for you to come and have a relaxing, memorable mountain vacation.

Larry had always wanted a little place by a mountain stream. We just happen to come across 13 acres on the mountain just at the base of Mount Pisgah with two small cottages. We had to get it! We enjoyed the sounds of the stream, the birds, and just the beauty all around us. That is when we decided to build a Log Cabin on above our cottage for others to enjoy as well. So, contact Daughter in Law, Denise and we hope you'll come stay and see for yourself.
Denise Glenn purchased this cabin in 2000
Listening to the mountain stream, seeing the mountain laurel in full bloom as well as other wildflowers, hearing the woodpeckers and other birds that fill the trees surrounding us. Walking around the property..... visiting Larry's small trout pond (sorry not for fishing). Just relaxing in the rocking chair on the front porch and mostly enjoy family and friendship!
Just returned from a awesome stay at pine log cabin one of the cabins on Glenn acres the owners were great, we really enjoyed meeting them. they new we were their to celebrate mine and my sisters birthday and we returned one night to a birthday cake with candles at the cabin door. if you visit this area make sure you go eat at the Apollo Flame its awesome. Also take the time to ride to the bayfront restaurant on lake lure near Chimney rock lots of little shops along the way, Thanks again to our great host it is the small things that make a difference
Just returned from a 2 night stay at the HillTop log Cabin with my husband, son and daughter in law and grandchildren. WE LOVED EVERY MINUTE.... We want to go back next year for a longer stay. If you want a place with a quiet, peaceful area this is it. I highly recommend it.
My family and I took a trip up during the labor day weekend and had a phenomenal time. We got in when it was dark the Friday night (not something I would recommend if you are completely unfamiliar with the area). While debating if we should cross what looked like barely a road pass a small creek- which earned me a lecture from my husband about the virtues of going onto land that clearly had a no trespassing sign posted, a very helpful lady came down to explain we were indeed in the right neck of the woods (I type that very literally :) We found out she actually cleans the cabins up there - Amy you were a Godsent to us that night. Like another reviewer has commented low vehicles beware, the road is not very accommodating. Our little Scion made it with expert handling though and honestly for us the experience just lent to the charm and authenticity of the get-away. The cabins were fantastic. It was well-stocked from books (I was dying to read but not enough time this trip) and games, to linens and cookware. It was clean and just completely refreshing. We had pre-planned some places to visit in the area but goodness I would have been very content to just hang out at Glenn Acres. The mountain creek intrigued the kids who totally enjoyed playing "naked and afraid" (with clothes on!) outdoors supposedly building shelter and combatting bears. In the Candler area I would suggest having a hearty breakfast at Miami Motel Restaurant- at first glance the sign would look questionable but the service was fantastic and food even better-yumm. We had the misfortune of eating at the Sagebrush- so I would steer clear. We enjoyed the hike at Graveyard Fields and managed to snag some wild blueberries. We drove pass looking glass waterfall, and sliding rock. Mt. Pisgah is a beautiful haven and those cabins were superb. We want to thank Larry and his wife for the rolls and for the help with starting the fire for our smores. (My husband's boy scout skills needed a refresher- thanks Larry!). Also Denise was a wonderful and accommodating person to deal with. True southern hospitality in her for which we are most appreciative. You all have allowed our family a time to reconnect and refresh ourselves for the necessary daily toils. My daughter upon arriving home after school the second day back home commented on how much she wished she was at the cabin again. Thanks again for providing that environment of peace. We hope to be back soon. (fishing gear in hand per hubby's instructions)
My GF and I had a great time staying at the cabin. We were able to connect on a higher level of conciseness.
If you enjoy being in the middle of nature then this is the place for you.
This was our second visit to Glenn Acres. This time we brought along three other families. We rented all three properties or a long weekend and had an amazing time. We ranged in age from 45 to 18 months. Everyone had a blast. The woods are beautiful, the location is fantastic and the cabins feel warm and rustic. We will be back again, as will the other families.
This was our 2nd stay at Pine Ridge. The cabin was nice and clean. The biscuits and marmalade that Gay dropped off upon our arrival made for the perfect rainy Saturday morning snack. The fact that you have no cell phone/data service is the best part for us... it's easier to disconnect when we don't have my phone "dinging" with email every few minutes. And the seclusion of the property is icing on the cake for those of us that enjoy being out in the woods and enjoying the sound of the wildlife and the creek. Cannot wait for our schedule to allow for a winter visit!
