Janet and Deidre
I fell in love with Hawaii's Big Island during my first visit in 1981. When my daughter Deidre moved there in 2001, I knew it would become a regular vacation spot. As we explore new sites together, we are continually reminded that Hawaii is an evolving island with beauty that awakens the senses. You will fall in love with the island, its culture and history, the same way we have. We are a mom and daughter team. I had the good fortune of raising my four children near the white sand beaches of Southern California. When I moved to Oregon, I realized how much I missed the calm, warm Pacific Ocean. Hawaii became the perfect choice for a vacation home, especially since we have family and friends living on both the Hilo and Kona sides of the Big Island. Each visit brings an abundance of surprises as we immerse ourselves in the Hawaiian experience. When not working with preschoolers, Deidre spends her free time surfing and exploring new locations. She can provide you with personal recommendations to make your vacation memorable.
Janet purchased this condo in 2007
This affordable studio offers a comfortable setting to rest after busy activities of the day. We especially enjoy the corner unit which gives us more privacy and the garden view from the comfort of the lanai. You can kick up your feet, feel the ocean breeze on the lanai and plan your vacation activities, just a short stroll into town.
Live among local culture. An affordable alternative to the more secluded resorts. You will be in the heart of the local cultural festivals, farmers markets, and nightlife. You can save a bundle off restaurant expenses and parking fees. Enjoy your morning coffee on the lanai.
Janet and Deidre,
The condo is pretty and well put together! It was nice to find cooking supplies and toiletries available. The attention to detail in organizing and stocking the condo is amazing. Thank you. For future tenants: highly recommend booking a zipline tour with Kapohokine Adventures in Hilo. We drove 1 1/2 hours over beautiful landscape and were able to see breathtaking views on the zipline tour. Also go to Mauna Kea observatory and make sure to see the volcano - preferably at dusk.
The owners are super to work with
The condo location is great close to ever thin you might want to do on the Big Island
Unit is clean well stocked with everything you need to make your stay easy and pain free and at a very reasonable rate
Definitely will contact Janet again to stay my next time in Kona
Rent this unit you won't be disappointed!!
We stayed and enjoyed this condo for two weeks this past February. It is out second time booking this condo and I am sure it won't be our last. We appreciate all of the extra amenities inside the unit and the location to Kona town is perfect. Several upgrades were made since our first visit that just made this condo even more comfortable. The people at this complex are so friendly and welcoming. The pictures of this unit are right on and the owners are easy to communicate with. You won't be disappointed.

Kitchen was fantastic- everything there a person could need! Weird that there is no bathroom door, but the shower was amazing! Little things that were available for our use; laundry detergent, beach chairs, lotion were very appreciated. Great condo. Outstanding value.
My boyfriend and I reserved this room for a week and couldn't be happier. The room provided us with EVERYTHING we could have possibly needed. It was equipped with everything from shampoo, conditioner, body wash, aloe vera, cotton swabs, snorkels, fins, beach towels, an ice chest to a variety of spices and condiments in the kitchen (just to name a few!) It has an extremely comfortable bed inside along with a comfy couch and dining table. The TV had a variety of channels and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. The pool was very clean and had many very friendly local residents there to converse with. The condo was perfect walking distance from downtown Kona. We walked many mornings to the pier for breakfast or at sunset for a shave ice and a beautiful view.
Two things to be cautious of: The toilet/shower are is separated from the room with the sink by only a small curtain so you will need to become REAL comfortable with whoever you are sharing the room with. Second thing, during our stay we chose to sleep on the lanai, because being that we were in Hawaii and it was very pleasant at night, why not? We awoke one morning around 6:45am to a gardener pretending to pick leaves up underneath the lanai while staring at us. We waited for a minute before questioning if we could help him. He continued to act like he was busy working, ignored us and continued. At this point, my boyfriend mentioned that he was going to call Bruce (the on-site property manager) and the man instantly ran off. Upon calling Bruce, he informed us that it was way too early for any maintenance to be there and apologized for the inconvenience. We did not encounter the man again throughout the remainder of our stay.
Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay here. Janet was extremely helpful in our booking. The website did not account for a discount so she left the remaining amount in cash on table for our arrival. After booking, she sent us a list of things to do on the island as well as great restaurants in the area. There were also many, many pieces of literature in the room for things to do, where to eat, etc. We rented a car and would HIGHLY recommend others who visit to do so as well. The island is very large and has so much to see, that one would be missing out without one. Our favorites were Hapuna Beach for snorkeling and South Point for cliff jumping.
We had an excellent time on Hawaii the Big Island and one of the reasons was this condo that we rented. The condo was comfortable, clean and a real home away from home. The condo was centrally located in Kona and allowed you to really enjoy the island without having to spend big dollars or even rent a car. It was a comfortable place to come home to after a day of sight seeing and I would recomend it to anyone who is looking for a place to stay on the Island.
This condo is perfect for those who wish to walk to town, the library or the pier to do some swimming in the mornings or try stand-up paddle board or kayak in the bay...you might also get to see the dolphins up close!!
The grocery stores are close too - everything is close however, once you are inside the condo sipping a cool drink on the lanai, you feel like you are away from it all!!
Deidre and Janet were very helpful and each tried make my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible!
