Sean has lived in Vermont and Massachusetts his whole life, and Susan is just settling into the Northeast after growing up in Georgia and Maryland. We love to get outdoors and explore the natural places all around us. We decided owning this gem of a house in Andover, VT, would make that possible for us and for lots of our guests.
Sean Effel purchased this house in 2010
Fresh air, woods, and quiet are very important but it's hard to get the 'away from it all' experience in a busy town or at the side of a ski slope. This property has all the things we like about being on vacation, but without all the traffic and neighbors.
If you want quiet and seclusion, this is the property for you. The nearest neighbors are hundreds of yards through the dense woods, the house is not visible from the road, there is no cell phone service. And on top of this, you can be in town for groceries, restaurants, even skiing, within a short few minutes in a car.
This was our third stay at this property. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Vermont. The house is located perfect as it is near 4 ski resorts and provides the perfect Vermont feeling with two wood burning stoves, clean, comfortable and well, basically perfect! We will be back for sure.
The listing describes the property perfectly and it is well maintained and super clean. The owners are so easy to get in touch with and want to make sure your vacation is perfect. I would highly recommend this property. This was our third stay at this property, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Vermont. The house has a perfect location as it is near 4 ski resorts and provides the perfect Vermont ambience. We will be back for sure.
Your home is lovely! We had a fabulous time there all week in the sun and rain. The house feels so warm, welcoming and cozy and our two boys couldn't have had more fun playing endlessly with us in the yard. We explored all over the area and enjoyed all of your tips so thoughtfully documented. We enjoyed many peaceful meals on your screened in porch, outdoor showers and the many plays put on in your living room (we recognize that you put those curtains in for heat control but our boys were sure they were just for theatrical purposes!). You have everything that we could have needed. We really appreciated having the little things like condiments or butter left behind so that we could take a pinch of nutmeg and make up for it by leaving the cinnamon behind... It's those little things that go a long way to making it feel like home (cinnamon needed for the blueberry buckle made with your blueberries!). Yum!
An amazing house, in the perfect location in the Vermont.
We spend a week at this beautiful house for our 15th wedding anniversary and we could not have picked a better place in Vermont.
The house is perfect, very comfortable, lots of space. A nice selection of board games for a fun night.
At night time you can sit by the fire and glance at the stars. There is plenty of fire wood and two comfy chairs to sit on.
One of the best things, an outdoor shower with hot water.
We loved it.
In addition to the house, the owners are wonderful. Not only do they provide ample information about the house and area, but they are super nice, hospitable and accommodating.
We are looking forward to returning
The pictures of this house doesn't do it justice. We spent our 25th wedding anniversary here and it was fabulous! Fall is my favorite season and the view was spectacular!! No cell phone reception, but free wifi :) Sean was very helpful, make sure if you want to know about places to go to or have any questions don't hesitate to call him. Sean made sure we made it in safely and that we were enjoying our stay. I recommend you go see the Quechee Gorge!! Thanks for an amazing vacation Sean, hope to come back next year. How's the baby doing? God bless you and your family :)
This house is the perfect place for a family vacation. We snowboarded daily at Bromley, ate at amazing nearby restaurants and sled down our very own sledding hill in the yard. At night, we would sit by the fireplace, play board games, play Rock Band, and just relax. We all agree that this was our best family vacation ever and we've been to Disney. It was relaxing and fun. Sean, the owner called and checked on our arrival and wanted to make sure we were comfortable and if we had any questions. The house was spotless and inviting. We are already planning on renting this house again next spring.
Our family of 4 enjoyed a great weekend at this charming VT home. Their was tons of snow for sleigh riding in the lawn. We skied at Okemo and Bromley and snowmobiled on the nearby trails. The home has a lovely interior with a great wood burning stove. Sean was a pleasure to work with and they clearly care about making their guests feel at home when they visit. We will be back!
