Seacroft is the perfect setting for your coastal getaway with friends and family or for that special occasion. We are proud to say our guests rate our home and its amenities 5 out of 5 stars in their reviews.
Seacroft offers a 360-degree view of the majestic Mendocino coast from its vantage point on its own coastal 'croft' or hill. This large 3000 sq. ft., 3-level, contemporary home is located west of Highway 1 in a small, upscale neighborhood at the north end of town. The vibrant downtown is a mere 10-minute walk away. The first whale you'll spot from Seacroft is 'Bubbles', the handcrafted whale sculpture in our front garden, who signals your arrival at our home.
The 30-ft. ceiling, stone fireplace, and wet bar along with the crashing white water views make the living room a cozy hang-out. The large upper level master en suite has its own private deck and gas fireplace. The separate loft area has a day bed, telescope, and library of books, games, puzzles, and movies to enjoy when not gazing at the white water views. The spacious lower level en suite master has direct access to the sheltered back garden and main level hot tub deck, electric fireplace, mini-office, and poker table for gambling enthusiasts. The two master suites are separated by the main level with two more bedrooms, a bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, living and dining rooms, and kitchen with a breakfast nook surrounded by windows. Our renters say the kitchen is the best equipped they've ever seen in a vacation rental.
The living and dining rooms also have tremendous white water views. The main level deck is home to the hot tub, gas grill, and soaring 'Crow's Nest' deck with views spanning from Gualala Point Beach to the south, the vast Pacific to the west, Fish Rocks and Haven's Neck to the north and the redwood hills to the east. This deck is an ideal location for whale watching- Thar she blows! During the winter, the Crow's Nest offers a unique experience of 'being in the clouds' during oncoming storms. During the summer, it offers a private sheltered place for sun worshipers. There are four other decks besides. Did we mention the white water views? Yes, there are white water views from every deck!
We offer FREE WI FI accessible throughout the house.
Gualala ('Where the river meets the ocean') is a quaint historic timber and ranching town with approximately 600 full-time residents. Its draw as a popular vacation spot has resulted in a myriad of tourist-related businesses such as art galleries and shops and boutiques galore. Gualala may be small town, but it has big city amenities- two grocery stores, full service pharmacy, over a dozen restaurants in town and nearby, a bank, two gas stations, and churches of all denominations.
Besides whale watching, a typical day in the area might find you getting sand between your toes at one of the many surrounding beaches (the six Sea Ranch state park beaches are accessible by the public and we provide a day use pass for your use); walking along the bucolic trails and bluff edges at Gualala Point State Park down to the beach which separates the Pacific Ocean and Gualala River; driving through the towering redwoods; kayaking, fishing, or swimming in the pristine Gualala River; or golfing at the links in nearby Sea Ranch. Cycling along Highway 1 is unparalleled. If you're feeling lucky, head to the Garcia River Casino in nearby Point Arena.
Don't forget to include wine tasting during your visit because there are over 20 wineries within a 30- or 60-minute drive. Return to Seacroft with your bounty of fruit from the vine and settle on one of the decks or in the hot tub, smell the ocean, and soak up the sounds of crashing waves, calling ospreys, and barking seals as the sunset colors the sky with nature's palette. Don't forget to enjoy the white water views...

Thank you for the wonderful stay at Seacroft. The views were outstanding and we didn’t have to go anywhere outside for the beach views. The house itself was spacious and well stocked with all the amenities we honestly didn’t expect to see. The town itself is a very charming place and we hope to come back in the future.
It was an excellent home for our family vacation/reunion! There were eight of us (five adults and three teenagers). We had such a fun and relaxing time connecting as a family. There is just so much room and space for everyone that we didn't have to be on top of each other all the time! We enjoyed the multiple level decks to view the ocean, the hot tub, the downstairs poker table, and the jacuzzi tub! The house is stocked with everything that you can think of for cooking and baking!! The owners were a pleasure to work with and treated us like royalty!!
From the excellent pre-visit communication from the owners to the well-stocked and appointed property, this was a dream come true visit. I highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a delightful, quiet, scenic vacation away from the madding crowds but close enough to civilization for basic necessities. Eight of us (four couples) shared this house with plenty of room to spare. Everything we needed or could think of wanting was there, and the generosity and taste of the owners was apparent everywhere. We will definitely return.
My husband and I celebrated the Christmas holidays at Seacroft with our three adult children, three year old granddaughter and two small dogs. Our kids greeted us with a fire in the stone fireplace in the family room. The owner (who is a pleasure to deal with) had left a bottle of Pinot Noir for us which we opened that night for dinner. A real treat.
There are two master suites, both with views, although the third floor suite has a better view up and down the coast. Both suites are large and comfortable with good mattresses, linens and essentials. Both suites have gas fireplaces.
I have difficulty climbing stairs so we chose the bedroom (again with a stunning view) on the primary living floor. It is connected to a full bath with shower and tub and has a separate entrance from the hallway for others to use.
Also on this floor is a second bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, breakfast nook, separate dining area, previously mentioned stone, wood burning fireplace, living area with reclining chairs and foot stools and two couches. Beautiful high ceilings and lots of windows. This was where we spent most of our time, losing ourselves in the spectacular views.
The deck is accessible from the kitchen and living areas and has a large hot tub overlooking the ocean. There are stairs to an observation deck, one level up and we sat here each day at sunset and toasted each other with Sparkling California wines.
Finally, I must add that the house was beautifully clean and super well organized. The owner had everything we could possibly require for cooking, including condiments and spices and storage containers also additional supplies for cleaning and resupplying our bathrooms etc.
It is not always easy to find accommodation which includes pets so please remember to pick up after potty breaks outdoors.
We celebrated my Mom's 90th birthday at Seacroft. It was a delightful stay. The huge windows make the windy, churning sea a constant presence. In fact, I started to think of the house as a ship cutting through the waves. Be prepared for wind in Gualala!
The house was well appointed and immaculately clean. The kitchen was amply supplied with every convenience needed to cook meals for eight.
The house is interesting architecturally because it has so many levels. Definitely a 3D, not 2D, layout. Lots of stairs, which I like. Two story, livingroom "atrium".
I can unhesitatingly recommend Seacroft.
Seacroft was a perfect destination for a family getaway with friends. We were a large group - 9 people and 2 dogs - but found there was plenty of room for all. The kitchen is well equipped and includes many gadgets for the gourmet cook. There are beautiful ocean views, allowing us to see the sun set into the waves, each night we were there. Absolutely delightful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Seacroft. The views are spectacular! The neighborhood is quiet, and Gualala is just a few minutes away. Our group visited Fort Bragg, Fort Ross and Mendocino as well as all the surrounding towns. The home is very comfortable, very clean and stocked with all you need and then some. The owners seem to have taken extra care to make sure the house has all renters will need. We appreciated the welcome basket of coffee and snacks as well as the wine! The owners were easy to work with and responsive to any questions. Our group highly recommends Seacroft!
