Come visit our peaceful getaway nestled in the north Georgia mountains. This relaxing and spotlessly clean three bedroom, three and a half bath home on Cedar Mountain is located just off the Georgia Wine Highway and surrounded by award-winning vineyards. We call it Hummingbird Hill because of the stunning number of hummingbirds that gather in this area. Of course, we provide plenty to entice them with lots of feeders...sitting on our large southwest facing deck becomes entertainment as they dart from one to another. Just grab a glass of wine, put your feet up and watch the natural show while the sun sinks into the horizon.
Our home features vaulted ceilings, leather furniture, a two story rustic stone fireplace, wood floors, comfortable cabin decor, flat screen TVs, and three sets of french doors that open to that oversized deck revealing beautiful mountain and nature-filled views. The main floor master suite, with deck access, is decorated with dark brown mission-style furnishings, rubbed bronze fixtures and lushly padded Berber carpet. The second floor offers a light-filled bedroom with a king-sized 'Heavenly' bed, angled ceiling, and large window. An open loft with two twin beds and second story views to the living room below, as well as a full bath complete the upstairs floor plan.
Our cozy cabin is only nine miles, or about 15 minutes, from downtown Dahlonega. This quaint 19th century Public Square is home to the Dahlonega Gold Museum, unique shops, art galleries, antique markets, and restaurants that range in taste from home style cooking to fine dining. The historic Holly Theatre and Georgia's premier community theatre company, is just off the Square. Free live music is available on and off the Square throughout the year and there's always entertainment at The Crimson Moon. Loads of other activities are just a short drive away. Hike the Appalachian Trail, enjoy one of 30 beautiful waterfalls, relax at a day spa, pan for gold at a local gold mine, go fly fishing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, visit Burt's Pumpkin Farm in the fall, shop at the outlet mall, and much, much more.
Come for the Tour de Georgia, Gold Rush Days, Bear on the Square Festival or just to relax and retreat...whatever you're looking for Dahlonega, the Georgia mountains, and our Cedar Mountain Cabin have it all and we'd love to have you as our guests!

We're a couple of south Floridians who were looking for a place to cool off and enjoy a change of scenery. We found it here in the most beautiful small town in North Georgia.
Jack purchased this house in 2006
We knew we found what we were looking for the moment we stepped into this peaceful getaway and out onto the deck. The mountain views, beautiful sunset, and abundance of birds and natural setting felt like home away from home.
We love our location. It feels very remote, but is really only 15 minutes north of Dahlonega, just south of hiking the AT, beautiful waterfalls, parks and in the middle of Georgia wine country. We couldn't ask for more.
Home was Perfect!
How neat is this. Found your blog! Our stay at Hummingbird Hill last fall was
everything we hoped for. Clean and comfortable! Did I mention clean? We are
very picky on where we stay and lay our heads at night. Motels don't cut it for
us and a lot of cabin rentals just leave us "less than satified". Your home was
perfect. We will be in contact as Dahlonega is are favorite getaway.
Mountain getaway in the heart of wine country. Award winning vineyards 5 - 15 minute's drive. Appalachian Trail nearby for hiking and nature activities. Scenic drives are right outside the door and within 15 minutes is downtown Dahlonega with live music, great food, live historic theatre, spa facilities, gold museums and mines, and lots of other activities.
