North East House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6-8)

Treat yourself to this new year round lake house with all the comforts of home -- maybe even more! We are steps from the Lake Erie beach, the second house from the lake, on a quiet road -- we are closer to the lake than some of the lakefront homes making this home a great value. Located in North East, PA… we are on Erie's Wine Trail where you can venture out for tastings and events at 11 wineries within 8 miles. Adults love our decor, furnishings and thoughtfully supplied house. Children are delighted here.

We offer the beach, the lake, many wineries, a quaint downtown and world-class fishing. You'll notice a slower pace of life and a small town atmosphere. Like us on Facebook - Clement's Lake Erie Cottages for more about our homes and area.

Ladies: We love ladies getaway groups. We are on the Lake Erie Wine Trail where wineries offer year round tasting. Bella Day Spa is close by and you can reserve the party room for your ladies to meet up between spa appointments. Ask me about private wine glass painting classes in-home and for other ideas for your weekend.

Steelhead fishermen and guided fishing tours are welcome. We are right between 16 Mile & 20 Mile Creeks, but also close enough to Walnut and Elk Creeks where you could drive to where the fish are hitting. My brothers are part of a competitive fishing team here. Ask me for Lake Erie fishing charter recommendations.

Relax in the comfort of this stylish home which was completely renovated and professionally decorated... a beautiful year round cottage living setting inside and out.

Larger groups please see our other listing #336468. We have two vacation rentals on the same street -- just 3 homes apart. Rent BOTH homes to accomodate up to 16 people. If my calendars are booked for the dates you need, ask me for other recommendations.

Main Floor: living area, kitchen, eating area, 3 bedrooms (Q, F, 2T) and bathroom with shower/tub unit. We also provide a Queen air mattress.

The fully equipped kitchen includes stainless appliances, large Thermador refrigerator/freezer with icemaker, microwave, Keurig and carafe coffee makers, dishwasher, garbage disposal, blender, mixer and crockpot.

Second Floor:

Loft living area equipped with 42' plasma TV, Blue-ray Disc player, cable channels, comfy sectional sofa, board games and toys. We have lake views from the loft.

Other Features:

- central air conditioning - a must for hot summer nights

- warm and cozy in the winter, fully insulated - not drafty like older cottages

- ample city water (no well water or low supply)

- public sewer (no septic issues).

- local art of Tajana Roehl and Tamara Maas

Washer and dryer are provided in the garage. Washer is 'winterized' from November through April, and cannot be used during those months.

- very private, quiet road with only 12 homes, no thru traffic

- private beach for residents/guests only

- one house from the beach entrance - closer to beach and easier access than some lakefront homes

. easy walkable beach access (no bluff/cliff/staircase) - unique for the area and important to consider for taking beach chairs and coolers to the beach

- natural Lake Erie shoreline with stones, sand, driftwood (please see photos here and on my other listing #336468).

We like to take beach walks, swim, hunt for sea glass and beach treasures, hang out on the beach and watch sunsets.

Detached 1.5-car garage with full size washer and dryer and pool table. Concrete driveway parking can accommodate up to four cars or a boat -- or a game of pick-up basketball - hoop provided. Or try four-square, hopscotch or chalk art on the driveway. Launch your kayak or sailboard right from the beach, or your jet ski or larger boat from the Marina, 1.4 miles east. We launch our fishing boat from the Marina and then anchor it in front of our beach during the day so we can come and go.

The home uniquely sits on 2 lots with large grassy areas for playing yard games. Kids love the tree swing. The backyard is private... only the yard and the creek about 15 feet down with access points via stairs or level at the beach. We provide a metal fire pit in the backyard or you can enjoy a small camp fire at the beach. Driftwood is always plentiful for a beach fire or the fire pit (no need to bring wood). Popular fishing streams, 20 Mile and 16 Mile are within a few miles. Walnut Creek and Elk Creek are drivable from here.

Walk on the shore, look for beach glass and roast marshmallows at the beach as you take in beautiful sunsets. We head to the beach in the evenings with a cup of wine to view the sunset, a different show each evening. Some nights are cloudy with subtle color and some nights are brilliantly colorful. The kids happily play at the shoreline, in the creek, in the lake and warm-up to the campfire as they make s'mores. Treasures abound year round -- beach glass, beach stones, driftwood, and other ordinary objects weathered to 'treasure-status' by water and time. Kids find their imaginations here.

Bring your bikes. Kids can bike up and down our quiet street. You can be more adventurous and take advantage of longer bike rides as well. Cycling tours and maps available at Lake Country Bike in North East.

18 miles east of downtown Erie, the quaint Victorian town of North East offers locally owned businesses such as Boston Bean Cafe coffee shop, Grape Country Marketplace (all local products and artisans), Bella Salon and Day Spa (massages!), The Cork 1794 restaurant, Sander's Jubilee Grocery, CVS drug store and more. During the summer and fall buy freshly picked produce at one the roadside farm stands. 11 wineries are within 8 miles. Trail rides and pony rides nearby.

In the summer, don't miss weekly special local events such as:

-- free concerts at local vineyards ( Penn Shore, Lake View, Arundel)

-- 'Thursdays in the Park' farmers' market and children's entertainment

-- First Fridays events in North East

-- Cherry Festival in mid-July

Fishermen: 16 & 20 mile creeks are within 2 miles for great steelhead fishing. Excellent walleye, perch, lake trout and bass fishing locally. The North East Marina, just 1 mile east, offers reasonable daily rates for a slip rental and boat parking, plus bait and licensing services. Looking for a Lake Erie Charter? Ask me for recommendations.

About Lynne Clement

I am a stay-at-home soccer/baseball/dance mom and enjoy managing our rental properties as it gives me the chance to meet new people and use my marketing background. I am originally from Erie, PA, a graduate of both Penn State Main and Xavier University (Cincinnati). I worked at Procter & Gamble for 10 years and lived all over the country for 20 years. When our kids became school-aged, we moved back to Erie where they could have a place to call home and have close relationships with extended family.

Lynne Clement purchased this house in 2005

Why Lynne Clement chose North East

As a child, my favorite memories were of visiting this special beach community. My dad's best friend owned this little slice of heaven where kids could be kids, and adults were always in a good mood as they relaxed and enjoyed good company. The tug of good memories was so strong that eventually my parents bought the house next door AND years later, my husband and I bought the other next door home so that we could provide happy traditions and memories for our kids! I have been coming to this place for 40+ years!

What makes this house unique

I wanted my kids to grow up enjoying the same memories I had... swimming at the beach, combing the shore for beach glass, outdoor bbqs, gathering driftwood for bonfires complete with s'mores, catching minnows and crayfish in the creek behind our house, walking barefoot on a dirt roads to the beach, skipping stones, floating on rafts, painting beach stones and building teepees from fallen tree branches. As an adult, I appreciate getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and entertaining friends or family and their kids just like I remember from those days as a child. When the kids are happy, Mom is happy!

2nd Stay!!! Slice of heaven, great for families, little kids, and/or girls getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at this wonderful cottage. My husband was out of town so I felt comfortable staying with my boys (ages 7 and 4) as it is residential and felt safe in the area. I’m originally from the Slippery Rock area so I was able to reunite with some of my friends and their kids, each coming a different day. However, first and foremost, it was in great shape, extremely CLEAN as always. For my oldest, his favorite is still the TREE SWING, he just loves it! Very short walk to the beach (you can see it from the driveway). My little one loved the water; it was very warm in Aug. One day it was wavy, the next calm and clear, you could see the bottom. You can walk out pretty far before it starts to get deep, which was great for kids. I love that she has chairs there that you can easily take to the beach as well as rafts/inner tubes to float on. The place has all of the comforts of home. At dusk, we took drinks down and watched the sunset every evening. The loft was very spacious and the sectional was comfy. Again, the privacy of this area is so wonderful, very few people so you truly get to relax. We also painted a lot of rocks, roasted marshmallows, etc. Plenty of drift wood to collect for a fire. Lynne was very prompt in addressing any questions that we had. If you are looking for relaxation, with no hustle and bustle, this is your place! It was a wonderful, relaxing stay. Thanks again Lynne and we are looking to book our next stay soon!!!

Slice of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

I was lucky enough to spent a recent weekend here due to a last minute cancellation. I needed a bit of time to get away from the hum-drum of life. I can honestly say staying at the "Just Beachy" cottage was like a dream come true. The quiet area, friendly people and beautiful landscape was just what I needed to recharge my batteries. Although I only stayed two nights, I would have stayed forever. I can't wait to go back.

Wonderful family get away!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Lynne's cottage on Lake Erie. This was a perfect place for our family of 5. Our 3 elementary age boys loved all the things to do there...campfires, playing basketball and pool, the rope swing and playing in the loft. As a family our favorite thing to do was go down to the beach, look for beach glass, swim and watch the gorgeous sunsets each night.

Lynne is extremely helpful in answering questions and giving information about the area. Her suggestions and insights helped us to plan some of our activities outside of the charter and Presque Isle State Park (which by the way is beautiful and definitely worth spending an entire day there).

We hope to be able to return to the Erie area and if we do, we will definitely be staying in one of Lynne's cottages.

Our family made many great memories during our stay and we look forward to returning :)

Pleasant Stay

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for our family of 5. Very clean and very well maintained. Close enough to the lake to hear the waves rolling in when the windows were open. Loved having the fire ring and picnic table in the backyard for an evening of mountain pies and s'mores. Great location. We walked the beach, looked for beach glass (some awesome finds), visited area wineries, a nearby mum farm, a pick your own grapes/apples farm and enjoyed the aroma of the grapes in the air. Also spent some time fishing in local streams. Overall great stay! Also, Lynne was great to work with and went above and beyond to get us information and answer questions.
