Hi, my name is Sarah Hamilton. Our family recently purchased a cabin in Ellijay, Georgia, a beautiful town located in the North Georgia mountains. We as a family have been upgrading and cleaning the cabin to make it the best cabin around. Living only an hour and a half from the cabin really comes in handy for quick trips up both for work and pleasure.
Sarah Hamilton and Ian Hamilton purchased this lodge in 2010
Our cabin is located in the gated community of Coosawatte River Resort, this allows for a safe and enjoyable environment. Within the community are a vast array of amenities from pools to gyms to put-put, the resort really offers every amenity one could ever need. The cabin itself is located on a wide river with many beautiful rapids, which allows for fun kayaking, canoe and tube trips. Along with a beautiful river view, there are amazing mountain views!
This cabin has a multitude of unique benefits offered. They include: canoes and tubes, a basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard and horse shoe court, a seven person hot tub, three spacious bedrooms each with a full bath, two living rooms, a game room with foosball, ping pong and pool, and high definition flat screen televisions.
We also supply Tubes, Kayaks and Canoes and life jackets for your use for your stay with us so you can enjoy the most out of our river! Many renter go and get put in up the river at one of the parks and float back down to our back yard! Or you can just hang and play right in the back yard!
Planning a group trip can be a difficult task. Especially when you want to prove to all your homebody friends that there are places out there that make you feel like you've stepped in to a dream and are worth a little travel. Well, for us this was a 3 hr 45 min. drive! BUT WORTH EVERY SECOND! I'll start by saying that the pictures do NOT come close to doing this beautiful lodge justice!!! This lodge is SO spacious, very clean, and decorated with the perfect touches to give you that cabin-in-the-mountains feel. With the open floor plan of the kitchen, which is fully stocked with all the necessities to make a feast, and the den, with a huge hearth holding a tv and fireplace, along with the dining room, which had a surreal view of the river, was the ideal spot for us to cook and all get to hang out. Then without hesitation, it was off to the lower floor to enjoy pool, ping pong, and of course the hot tub. Whether it's laying on the large daybed swing listening to the river, playing card games, fishing off the dock, soaking in the hot tub, or just snuggling in the bed watching tv....there is alwaaayyys something to do!!! And this is coming from someone who visited in the middle of winter and had a severe winter weather alert while we were there! Haha Definitely looking forward to coming back in the summer when we can enjoy the kayaks, volleyball in the back yard, and tubing down the river :) Last but not least, huge thanks to Ian and Sarah! (Owners of this cabin) Coming from someone who works in customer service, ya'll are amazing, friendly & so hospitable!! Thank you for opening your cabin for others to enjoy a little escape from day to day reality! Look forward to seeing you in the summer ;)
We had a hard time finding a nice cabin that would sleep 20 and I was very happy when I came across this one. The pictures looked great and I love that there were so many things to do. We hiked, jogged, played games of basketball in the gated half court, rode kayaks and canoes, built fires, hot-tubbed, played pingpong and foosball, cooked semi-extravagant meals, and even hulahooped in the spacious back yard. The owners were very nice and even called the night we checked in to make sure we found the place ok. It is tricky to find, but listen to the owners when they say to follow the directions they provide (not your gps) and you shouldn't have a problem. Oh, and the huge bed/swing on the middle porch and the hanging chairs on the top porch were fun, too!
Words cannot express how beautiful and well equipped this cabin is!! The owners are fabulous to work with! Our group will definitely plan this cabin again next year!!
Our family of 20 just returned from this wonderful property, it is hard to know where to begin this review as it so perfect and no-one wanted to leave this serene beautiful spot. The house was lovely and spacious, you could totally relax with the sound of the rapids at the back door and wonderful views of the river from the three decks, we all loved the huge swing on the middle deck and drew straws to see who would get to sleep on it. How neat to be able to take all the provided tubes and kayaks up river and float right to your back door, it was so much fun watching all the grandkids learn to kayak, they loved it. We all enjoyed watching all the geese feeding in the rapids everyday and seeing all the deer as you drove around the property, they are everywhere. If you want a little excitement in your life a rafting trip on the Ocoee River is a must, if your really up for some adventure do the upper section as it is where the Atlanta summer Olympics were held and it is rough but the ones in our group that did it said they'd do it again. The middle section is a little calmer but not much. There are lots of of great places to visit within an hours drive but in reality most people will just want to hang out at the house and enjoy what there is there whether it's winter or summer, I would love to go back in the fall. As you can tell I am in love with this place and hope we can return in the near future. Thank you so much Ian and Sarah for sharing this peace of heaven with us!
I lost my husband this past September and my family couldn't fathom being without him this Christmas . We decided that getting away from home would make things a little easier , and so I found river stone lodge on VROB .. It's everything that you can see on the website and more . Relaxing , plenty to do , everything that you'll need is there . We bought groceries and that was it ! My in-laws enjoyed watching tv by the fire while my 8&10 year old enjoyed the basketball court. My brother in law and sister in law , my oldest son and his girlfriend enjoyed the hot tub , playing pool and a fire done by the river .. I'll definitely go back during he spring so that we can enjoy tubing on the river ...
Plenty of room for our entire extended family!! We tubed, rafted, and even kayaked the river. The rest of the time we were happy just to hang out on the porch overlooking the river, or sit with our feet in the current. The cabin had plenty of room and everything we needed - a hot tub, barbecue grill, the sound of rushing water! We even caught the football game upstairs on the big screen while the kids watched a movie downstairs. Everyone was happy!! We can't wait to do it again :)
