Get beautiful sunrise and sunset views!
This spacious, non-smoking condominium in Ocean Park faces the ocean and is surrounded by Fort Clinch State Park, which gives a unique sense of privacy -- A lovely ocean view from the private balcony on one side, and a view of Fort Clinch State Park on the other side. See the sunrise from your private balcony and the sunset from your corridor terrace outside your front door. Stroll to the beach, less than 200 yards away, or sit on the patio deck in the evening, enjoying the panoramic ocean view, and hear the surf pounding on the shore -- not the traffic! A perfect location -- quiet and serene, yet right next to the beach and a short walk or drive to many activities.
This large (1400 square feet) unit includes living/dining area, fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms with baths, all newly furnished and artfully decorated. Also included is a laundry room, balcony, and locked private garage. Everything is provided -- from linens to ice-maker. There are even beach chairs in the locked garage.
The master bedroom contains a queen-size bed with a TV, large master bath and roomy walk-in closest. The second bedroom contains two twin beds with adjacent bath. Additional sleeping space is provided with sleeper sofa in the living room. The entertainment center in the living room houses cable TV, DVD with DVD collection, assorted board games and card games for a rainy afternoon, and, of course, wireless internet.
A few minutes drive takes you to the historic district in downtown Fernandina Beach where you will find a myriad of unique shops and artist studios, and a culinary assortment of restaurants on the river waterfront. Also visit Fort Clinch in the state park, the highly-rated Fernandina Beach Golf Club, or take a ferry to Cumberland Island to explore back to nature treasures. Less than an hour drive will take you to Jacksonville for more sports activities, Jax Zoo, and more cultural arts and dining adventures.
For many years we explored the islands off the coast of Georgia and Florida. When we discovered Amelia Island, we knew it was a keeper. The island has many places to explore, fine restaurants and shops, and a beautiful beach, all without feeling like a tourist camp. One of our favorite activities is just sitting on our private balcony, watching the sea birds play in the pond and listening to the sounds of nature. Amelia Island has become a favorite vacation spot for our family and friends.
Mike purchased this condo in 2003
We chose a beautiful condominium in Ocean Park on the north end of the island, nestled between Fort Clinch State Park and the beach, because the north end of the island is less commercialized than the developments on the south end. This quiet location is also more convenient to popular attractions, including Fort Clinch Sate Park, Egans Creek Greenway, Centre Street, the old lighthouse, and public parks. You can bicycle to these areas! You know what they say -- it's all about location, location, location!
The Ocean Park condominium complex is newer, and therefore more spacious and updated with modern appliances than many of the older condos along the beach. Hey, we even have a trash compactor! You will also find a private, closed, locked garage (no parking problems!) which is large enough for bikes and beach equipment, too. The washer and dryer are inside the unit. And, of course, we have WiFi. Everything very updated and private for a luxurious stay.
This is our 4th or 5th stay (we've lost count) at this condo, and it's like coming home. It's always so clean and fresh and updated. This time we found new towels and dishes, an expanded DVD library, new furniture on the balcony, and a softer mattress in the master bedroom! You can tell that the owners really love this place -- and we do too! Until next time --
We had a wonderful week on Amelia Island. This lovely condo was very comfortable for our group of 5. It has a great ocean view from the balcony and the grounds are beautifully maintained. We started every day on the beach. We rented bikes and road the trails in Fort Clinch State Park, right next door. Enjoyed good food and libations on the beach at Sandy Bottoms. Loved the seafood at the Crab Trap, just a short drive away. And shopping, of course. There are more things to explore, so we'll be back!
Our first visit to Amelia Island & we were very pleased with the condo & location. Condo was just like represented including the view from balcony. Very spacious & clean. Elevators are close by. I did find it easier to drive to beach (very short distance) than walk w/beach gear. Plenty of parking on side of road next to beach. Easy location to get into town. The pool was not as large as appeared in photos but still nice & never crowded. We ate out most meals so did not use kitchen much but looked as if it had a lot of useful items. We did enjoy finding good restaurants. We also liked the Amelia Island River cruise - interesting & entertaining for new visitors to the Island. Enjoyed our stay. Thanks
A perfect vacation get-away. This is a spotless, well-appointed unit with everything you need for a lovely vacation. Nice ocean view from the comfortable balcony. Conveniently located to condo parking and the elevator (important for us 60+ seniors). If you don't want to walk the block and a half to the beach, there's plenty of beach parking nearby to make it easy to tote your beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. Just a few minutes drive to the shops and restaurants in Fernandina Beach. We'll definitely be back!
So sad to leave! What a wonderful vacation - perfect for a family w/ young kids! Beach, nature trails, playground, park, bike rides, Jax Zoo - all so close. And it's great to stay at the more peaceful end of the island. Beautiful condo! Thank you!
Thank you for letting us use your very spacious condo. The beach was so close, the sound of the waves put us to sleep at night. We loved the pool and the garage was great for all the bveach stuff. Your condo had everything we needed and the Fort and Fernandina were very close and great to visit.
Only a three minute walk to the beach from the condo.
Also located next to Fort Clinch State Park which has periodic reinactments at the fort, as well as miles of hiking and biking trails and an almost mile long pier for fishig. Also walking distance to Egans Creek Greenway, the Amelia Lighthouse, a recreation center, a children's playground, and a skateboard park. A three minute drive to Centre Street in Fernandina for shopping, restaurants, and the historic district.
In a quiet neigborhood, but with easy access to many activities!
