Public internet access is available at some local stores around the Harbor Springs and Petoskey area. Walk along the natural shoreline of beautiful Lake Michigan and enjoy evening sunsets on cloudless nights while cooking s mores over a fire. The lakefront is a natural shoreline with rock, sand and beach grasses. Beaches and water can vary throughout the year depending on wave and weather conditions and may differ from photos shown. Water shoes are highly recommended. Just minutes away in Cross Village is historic Legs Inn Restaurant where you can experience Polish American cuisine in a garden setting. Three Pines Studio has the work of local artists. Take a scenic drive north to Mackinaw City where you can catch a ferry to visit Mackinac Island. Explore the island, scenic views, and historical locations. Bike rentals and horse back riding are available on the island. Visit Colonial Michilimackinac, a reconstruction of a1715 French fur trading village and military outpost that was later occupied by the British. On the way back to Sturgeon Bay Cottage, stop and climb sand dunes and walk along the Sturgeon Bay beaches for a perfect end to another magnificent vacation day.
