Snowmass Village House Rental Photos and Description

House- 5 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 4.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 10 in Beds)

Enjoy this beautiful seven level home year round! This home is an expression of peace and love in every season. The home includes a beautiful new hot tub outside, a gourmet kitchen and cozy breakfast nook. The house has internet access, so bring your computer with WiFi. The dinning area and living room, including the deck outside are simply majestic; especially when viewing the ski area and skiers below!

The upstairs features two gorgeous master suites, with a sitting area and fireplace in each suite. The king suite has a single futon and the upper queen suite has a single futon. This upper queen suite connects from the bathroom to a smaller queen room with a single futon. There is one exit for these rooms (ideal for families!)The upper hallway has a single futon as well.

Downstairs there are two twin bedrooms with 2 twin beds in each room and a large bathroom with a tub/shower close by. The downstairs also includes a relaxing entertainment center (on the same level as the outside hot tub), with a TV (newly installed 60' flat screen TV!) wet bar and small pool/game table and game closet. This level also has a queen and two single futons (yes, this home is perfect for large groups!)

The huge deck features ample seating and check out the chair lift seat! The views in every season are absolutely incredible!

In the fall we have Balloon and Wine Festivals and Rugby Tournaments, among many other activities and summer welcomes a variety of Music Festivals in addition to gorgeous hikes, biking and shopping! The reservoir where the Mastedon discovery was found is now visible from the large front window during the summer!

Snowmass Recreation Center at the base of the hill by the rodeo grounds includes a pool, basketball courts, weights, salt water hot tub for the daily rate of $15/adults and $10/children ages 2-17! Call for updated information.

The home is near the top of a steep winding road and not directly on the slope. This ski in/out home has many trails connected to the major ski runs and is only about 100 yards from the runs, which you may view from the rear deck of the house. The lift visible from the house is Coney Glade.

The Guggenheim trail, leading to the slopes is only about 120' from the house-2 houses down.*Some access trails to the lifts for ski in/ski out can be considered challenging relative to your personal skiing ability. Some are very easy. *During low snowpack you may need to take your skis off and walk*

To Ski Out From the House:

Take the Guggenhill Trail. It is on your left at the end of Little Lane. This is the more challenging trail.

or Walk/Ski (or have someone drive) 2/10 of a mile to the underpass and climb to the left side of the underpass (there is an embankment there.) This is Adams Ave. Take this run to the Village below. This is the easy way to ski out. Walking to this bridge below is about 200 yards.

To Ski In From the Ski Slope:

Take the Green Cabin run and near the lower portion of the run stay to the right. Look for the round 'target' sign. Take the 'cat walk' to Wood Road (it is 2/10 of a mile to the house.) Follow the trail down to the left (it parallels Wood Road) and follow this trail to the house. Gorgeous 4,500 sq. foot mountain vacation home overlooking the ski slope. Stunning architecture, ski-in-ski out (short walk to trails), summer hiking and mountain biking, rodeo, unbelievable aspen and fall colors, music, dining and entertainment in both the upper and lower villages. The directions are available.

This home is perfect for large family gatherings and retreats as well as for a romantic 'getaway', and the unique design of the home ensures privacy on all levels.

There is a 2 car garage and parking spaces around the house for 6 vehicles.

* If you book for 30 days or longer the 12.8% lodging tax is exempt!

Susan Oakley/Property Administrator purchased this house in 1999

Why Susan Oakley/Property Administrator chose Snowmass Village

We 'fell in love' with Snowmass in 1969 and decided to purchase condo units at the Crestwood Condominium complex. Then we found the perfect property and decided to build our family vacation home on this property.

Our home is in the Ridge Run 2 sub division with access to tennis courts! The house was completed in 1999 and features breathtaking views from any of the decks and is still only minutes away from world class dining, shopping and so many activities!

Aspen (famous for being Aspen and it is fun to see a celebrity or two!) along with the gorgeous Maroon Bells close by), and Glenwood Springs (famous for the hot springs pool and vapor caves, and recently acquired roller coaster, along with the zip line with spectacular views of the mountains ) is only 45 minutes away.

What makes this house unique

This southwestern style home is a gem! It sits atop the mountain with incredible views, and a short 15 minute drive will take you to world famous Aspen. The snow is superb from around November through April, and oftentimes beyond.

This home is absolutely gorgeous year round! The Aspen trees literally light up the mountain with fall colors, and the summer is green and lush! The perfect place to mountain bike, hike, sight see and relax!

It is approx. 2 miles from the house to the upper/lower malls. An extra bonus is the free bus shuttle service from the Aspen Airport to the Snowmass Village Mall. From there you can get a shuttle to the house (during the ski season)(Dial a Ride is $1.00 (paid for by the town of Snowmass!) or take a taxi (very reasonable/

/competetive rate!) The public transportation is available from the rodeo grounds on down. Call the public transportation system at 1-970-923-3500 for more information.

Check out the X Games (in Aspen for free!) in January, Film and Music Festivals throughout the year as well as rodeos in the summer. Another exciting event is the Bike Pro World Cup that goes through Aspen and Snowmass on to Denver.

Also of interest is the site of the internationally acclamied Mastadon unearthing, one of the world's greatest archeological discoveries! Check out the latest events online!

Guestbook comments from the manager

The view is breath taking. I could have sat in the huge, comfy red chairs all day, but you can't help but get out and play, whether it be with the leaves or snow. You also can't help but love the hot tub. Great for cooler nights or just to relax. Loved the size of the house. Enough to have adventures but not too big you get lost. And most importantly the owners are so wonderful, who wouldn't want to visit this relaxing vacation home in any season... and I've seen it through every season.

Making Christmas Memories

  • 5 of 5

No doubt you'll find the Oakley family's vacation house to be the perfect home-away-from-home for multiple generations of skiers making family Christmas memories together. (I've also stayed here in the spring for a reunion with girlfriends. It's wonderful any time of year!) Most warm and welcoming, with full amenities. Well-appointed, including unique and tasteful artistic touches that bring the "feel" and history of the region to light. Cozy atmosphere yet fully spacious at the same time. Floor plan provides plenty of areas on different levels for groups to gather while suites and bedrooms are arranged in a way that offers privacy, peace and quiet. Large windows offered breath-taking views without making the house feel cold. Pink-crystal snow glistened at sunrise. After dark we were treated to some of the brightest stars you've ever seen in the night sky. A vacation home created by people who truly value family time together and inspire their guests to do the same. Something to please every age group in every season. This year our family lucked-out with lots of fresh new snow on Boxing Day, the perfect gift for our Canadian son-in-law who regularly skis Whistler. Way to go, Snowmass!

Owner's Response: It is true, that each season is beautiful in Snowmass, and this home definitely embrasses the beauty of each season. Winter is absoultely gorgeous and breathtaking, especially with fresh snow. This has been another amazing snow year for us. The unique design of this home offers that cozy feel and at the same time it is spacious and perfect for groups of all sizes. This comment expresses this home perfectly!

Bird's Eye View

  • 5 of 5

The Oakley's home is beautiful inside and out. From the living room window, we relished each morning and night the routine of the mountain activities. The multiple snow cats operate all night, the cross country skiers and people on snow shoes parade by early in the morning, the staff get up early to operate the lifts and ride the snow mobiles to their jobs. During the day, we could see paraglider and skiers. Best of all, the Mardi Gras fireworks ignited within our view. The large windows incorporated the natural scene into the interior.

The three large tables on the main floor allowed for kids' activities and sit down space for everyone at the same time. The multi-level floor plan gave privacy and quiet. The description of the house is accurate for all that is available to the guests. The informal Southwestern decor made for a luxurious, comfortable stay. Susan Oakley was most kind and accommodating to work with. I highly recommend this home for large groups. Our three generations of family had a terrific time here.

Owner's Response: The view from the large window (and all of the windows) offers amazing views from every direction and being close to the top of the hill allows for spectacular views! It is true that the house is comfortable and cozy, while at the same time it can accommodate large groups. There is so much going on all year long in Snowmass and this comment "sums it up" nicely.

First Class Mountain Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Three generations of my family enjoyed an outstanding week in this beautiful home. The accommodations made us feel very welcome. A maintenance item was promptly taken care of. We enjoyed all the summer activities the Snowmass/Aspen area has to offer, including a break from Gulf Coast heat and humidity. Stargazing from the deck was spectacular every night.

Owner's Response: Thank you, this sums it up perfectly! Summer in Snowmass/Aspen really is spectacular, from the views to the various activities and we have an efficient and prompt property manager as well. Many multi-genetational families have enjoyed this home and have special memories to share. Thanks again!

Owner's Response: This has been an incredible year for snow in the winter and rain and snow in the spring, with warm days in between making this year exceptionally green and beautiful! This upcoming summer we have bike races, music festivals, rodeos, the Ice Age exhibit, fantastic restaurants, hiking, fishing and more. Come back and visit again.

Great House

  • 4 of 5

Really enjoyed the ski in ski out of this house. We litteraly ski on the side of the road to the driveway of house, and just short distance to ski down to lift. Perfect! With a big group its so nice to have the flexibility to get on or off the mountain, or even just come home for lunch. We enjoyed it a lot. The view is from the house is great, makes it peaceful. The only thing was the futons beds are on the smaller side for kids, too small for adult. We would stay there again.

Owner's Response: The ski in/out really is easy as you mentioned. We have had people from all over the world stay in this home and they keep coming back! The views are truly amazing and we had incredible snow this year. This home really is family oriented and there are enough beds for 10 people and the futons are perfect for kids and young adults. Hope you get the opportunity to visit again.

New Year's Memories

  • 5 of 5

My family of 11 enjoyed the best New Year’s ever at this Snowmass home. The bedding was luxurious; the kitchen was more well-appointed than any we have experienced; the view was spectacular as the den windows overlook the busiest slopes as well as the terrain park; the easiest access point for the slopes for ski out was just a mere 5 minute walk; the ski in trail was so much fun; the game room was a huge hit with our young adult children; and the home décor and furnishings were like that of the most exquisite, custom homes. The owners have put so much of themselves into every part of this warm, cozy but extremely spacious mountain lodge. From the beautiful paintings to the elaborate wall pieces fashioned from ironworks, this is the perfect place to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Owner's Response: It is true that this is the perfect home for celebrations and for special family memories! The gourmet kitchen is a hit with everyone and the unique design of this home allows for that "cozy feel" on each level, yet opens up to a large gathering area on the main floor for meals and conversation. The lower level entertainment area is the perfect "get away" when you need a "break" or want to watch the game or a movie on the new 60" TV. There is a small bumper pool table and games as well. This house really is ideal for all ages and group sizes!
