This fully furnished beach front suite is 50 ft. above sea level which provides an amazing panoramic view of the Pacific. You will find yourself enjoying the beach with a short walk from the suite.
The ground floor has a large room furnished with custom made hardwood furniture allowing you to relax and enjoy your vacation. Toward the rear of the ground floor is a fully furnished kitchen. A TV set and a six place dining table sits just outside the kitchen. A toilet and sink in one room, and a shower in a separate room, are available as well for your convenience.
On the second floor the master bedroom comes with a balcony providing a magnificent view of the ocean. I live in Northern Virginia with my sweet husband and our children. With my father I purchased some land and built our family's vacation place in the northernmost province of Peru near where I grew up and where I went to the beach as a little girl. My husband and I attended college at Oklahoma State and we have lived in various states and countries, but we sure love spending our vacations at the beach. I work hard at a nearby hospital, and look forward to each family trip to Punta Cocos Beach where I can really relax. I just love watching the children play in the water, our daily walks either to the fishing village of Caleta Grau (North) or to Zorritos (South), and watching the sunsets from the veranda. It is a great place to spend quality time with your loved ones!
Tessy/Kevin purchased this townhome in 2009
I have been coming to this beautiful, peaceful, unspoiled beach with my parents and siblings, ever since I can remember! Here are a few of the reasons why: Warm weather and water year-round, we can get in the water any time of the day we want!. Amazingly beautiful view of the turquoise waters, especially from the hill behind. Gorgeous orange sunsets. Low humidity. Few insects. Low cost of food, travel, amenities, etc. and Peruvian food is getting to be known worldwide. Tropical wildlife, unique bird watching opportunities nearby, crocodile farm in Puerto Pizarro. Shopping in the bordering towns between Ecuador and Peru. Leather, straw, silver and gold crafts in Catacaos, my children's favorite town to visit!
Washer in laundry room in second floor, furnished kitchen and air conditioned bedrooms, uncommon for northern Peru, but how nice to have! Easy access into the property immediately off the PanAmerican highway, yet Punta Cocos Beach is protected from highway noise by being nestled behind a large hill. Direct access to the beach, less than a 5 min. walk, as the property fronts the beach. Homemade Roma style pizzas after a fun day at the beach! Peaceful, quiet, secluded area, yet 20 min from the Departmental capital of Tumbes and its Regional airport where you can catch flights to and from Lima. Less than an hour away, visit Ecoturism sites like Puerto Pizarro, the National Mangrove Sanctuary and the Amotape National Park. We love to walk into Zorritos along the beach to visit the market and restaurants and catch a taxi back to Punta Cocos Beach.
My wife and I had the good fortune visit Punta Cocos at a quiet time in the season.
We found it to be very relaxing and enjoyed our walks on the beach and into town.
At other times we were able to catch a ride with Kevin to Zorritos or Tumbes and even rode in the moto-taxis.
We would like to return for a visit, now that we have friends in the north of Peru at Punta Cocos.
Thanks Kevin and Tessy
Punta Cocos Beach Suites is a nicely appointed Bed and Breakfast located off the Pan American Highway and a short distance from the town of Zorritos. The B&B consists of 6 spacious suites. Each suite can easily and comfortably accommodate 6 adults. It also includes all the basic amenities needed for long stays. The B&B overlooks the Pacific Ocean and is just a few yards away from sandy and uncrowded beaches, which extend for miles along the coast in both directions. The water temperature is warm all year round and you can take a dip in the ocean anytime of the day. You can also go for long and relaxing walks on the beach. The view of the ocean from the B&B is simply spectacular. You can sit on the terrace and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. We spent 30 days at Punta Cocos Beach and highly recommend it to anybody who just wants to relax and spend a quiet time at the beach. We also found Zorritos to be very safe and its people friendly.
Punta Cocos is a very relaxing vacation destination. It's location is far enough from town to have your own private beach and close enough to have all the amenities of Zorritos; restaurants, market, transportation, etc..
We visited in early August and had great weather, and on the 3 miles of beach that we walked almost daily, saw only a handful of people during the whole week. I hope the area is able to keeps it's charm for years to come.
The staff was very attentive to our needs and was always available as they live on the property.
Being on the beach, the washer was especially useful.
The units have air, but we never used it as there are ceiling fans, and all of the windows are screened.
The owners are in the process of giving the place a "facelift" as is always needed with a property exposed to the elements near a beach, and am looking forward to seeing their progress on my next visit.
Yes, I will be going back... it's only 5000 miles from my house!
Our favorite outings while at Punta Cocos Beach in Zorritos is to visit Puerto Pizarro, go on the Mangrove tours, visit the crocodile farm (the Tumbes crocodile is being saved from extinction) and hiking at the Amotape National Park. Our favorite things to do while at Punta Cocos Beach is playing in the surf, watching the birds, the dolphins and the sea lions, also the magnificent orange sunsets! and later at night after our campfire goes out, watching the stars on our backs. It's heaven on earth :-)
