The house is a newly renovated traditional fishing style house with 4 bedrooms and three bathrooms(sleeps 8 ),right in front of the beach. It is
perfect for family and friends or a group of kiting buddies out to improve their skills. You can even catch an early surf in the mornings before the wind kicks in .
Its walking distance to restaurants, cafes and the center of the village .Taiba is a small brazilian fishing village,at about an hour drive from Fortaleza,it is charming, traditional , secluded and not yet touched by mass tourism ,a well kept secret of a few affluent brazilians.
The house itself is nice and airy , with big shuttered windows, all painted white. Super clean and comfortable . Cosy and secure.
There are three bedrooms with king size beds and one bedroom with two single beds.
All linen is provided. daily cleaning is taken care of by 'Aurea' and gardening and general maintenance by 'Benidito' our housekeeper/gardener couple , who live at the back of the property in a separate house.
Relax in one of the many hammocks on the font terrace and enjoy the special
feeling that living on the beach offers.
Keywords: A Newly Renovated, Light and Airy House Right on the Best Beach for Kiting and Surfing Close to Everything located at Taiba , don't be fooled by other listings claiming to be at Taiba that are really at Cumbuco or no where near the beach, this is a very special house .
I am an Australian living in Bondi Beach and with a family of boys that all love surfing and kiting. We needed a place where the boys could take out all their energy in the water and not have to drive them anywhere. Walk out the front is all you need to do. My wife is a fashion stylist and you can see her influence in many features in the house.
You will be comfortable and at home here.
Patricia purchased this house in 2008
All our family share a love of surfing and kitesurfing and were looking for an uncrowded and unspoilt location away from the craziness of European beaches in summer and getting out of Sydney in winter when there is no wind and cold. THe bonus is its always sunny in Taiba , with constant sea breezes every afternoon and its an area relatively untouched by tourism plus the local people are very friendly and welcoming. our place is situated on the north east coast of Brazil in the state of Ceara, between Cumbuco and Paracuru .
The house is in the best part of Taiba and arguably in front of the best beach for kiting in Brazil, always a steady tradewind to cool things down. the house is close to the town centre but not remote like so many other places in this part of Brazil. It has a light airy feel , with all door and windows having shutters that will make hanging out there all the more enjoyable. Its a place to unwind and relax ,chill in a hammock and read that book with a capirinhna in hand. But if surfing and kiting's your thing, all you need to do is walk out the front gate and you have many other activities available .
This area of Ceara is truly a unique are of the World where the lifestyle is still uncomplicated .
I'm a difficult individual to please but our rental in Taiba just a few short weeks ago was Paradise.
The house was everything that was promised and the location on the beach was spectacular. Our family of 6 from different parts of the U.S. were not kite surfer or regular surfers but we know a nice beach when we see one, and this was it. Just being able to walk out the back of the house and access the water so easily was a special treat. We took many walks along the beach, swam continuously in the beautiful and warm water, and of course spent many an hour on the hammocks just napping or reading books.
The town of Taiba was spectacular with so much charm. The owner said an old fishing village, undiscovered by most, and it was that indeed. No major tourist infrastructure here, but everything else that you could want. The restaurants were plentiful and varied from simple Barracas (huts on the beach), to better restaurants, to a couple of really nice ones (a small French expat population is in Taiba and you know the food is going to be good). Stores sold all of the basic things you might need, and you can buy your own fish in the Village square and cook back at the house.
If you are looking for a relaxed vacation on the beach in a small, quaint, and interesting fishing village on the coast of Brazil, this is your spot! An hour and a quarter from Fortaleza by car and a whole different world.
We spent 2 weeks in taiba with 2 little kids. The house is wonderful and Taïba is a great place to surf and to go to the beach. The house is just behind the beach so with the kids it's very easy. We visit few towns around which are beautiful as well. The owner's are nice and Aurea the woman who look after the house made the brazilian's cook as nobody could make it....She is very reliable and look after you. We only have positive points about our Holiday, everything was great.
We recently stayed on this property for 10 days, and we really enjoyed it : the house is spacious, clean and nicely decorated. We did not miss air conditionning since there is always a cool breeze and plenty of shade. You will find everything you need, It is perfectly situated in a calm neighbourhood right in front of a good surf spot. I was able to launch my kite in front of the house where there is a cleared area and a line to secure the kite between sessions. If you need calmer water as this is mostly a wave spot, you can go to the Laguna or further downwind, but you will need a buggy (4-5 kms).
There is a very good restaurant very close to the house (3 mn walk max), "Volta ao Mundo".
Owners are French and they also offer kite lessons and horsebackriding. Recommended !
And you will find more restaurants and small grocery stores if you walk to the village (10-15 min)
Many thanks to Aurea who took great care of us.
Thanks also to the owner who was very helpful in provinding tips for the trip.
Will definitely come back !
We spent a week in this great house in Taiba as a family of 4: two adults and two little kids. Communication with the owner was great from the beginning. Any questions we had were answered promptly. Good contacts for airport pick-up and buggy rental. The house is really like in the pictures: spacious, airy, clean, tastefully decorated and well laid out, well equiped kitchen, great veranda with hammocks, enclosed garden so you can let kids run free, out the back gate and you are on the beach! Aurea and Bene took great care of us. We went for the total relax experience and asked Aurea to prepare breakfast/lunch/dinner for us during our stay; highly recommended!! The kids loved it, we loved it, one happy family. We'd love to come back again.
I stayed here for 3 nights in November 2011 before travelling onto Cumbuco. My girlfriend and I fell in love with Taiba and this villa offered everything we needed for a quiet and relaxed stay. It was beautifully decorated and wonderfully spacious. The fact that it was possible for us to surf right in front of the house in the mornings and kite in the same waves in the afternoons was real bonus. I would definitely recommend staying here and i hope to return again next year.
I was able to spend 2 weeks at this house, and it was everything I had hoped for, and more... it really is a kitesurfer's paradise. I can't say enough good things about the house, the location, and the owners. I am already recommending it to my friends, and can't wait to go back. Here's what I most appreciated about my time there: The location is IDEAL -- you walk right out of the yard and you're on a beautiful sandy beach ready for kiting. The house is immaculately maintained and perfectly suited for spending the day on and around the water -- or just relaxing in the hammocks with a book when your body needs to rest and recover from all the water time. The owners have gone out of their way to make the house comfortable and convenient for guests and families -- and they have made sure that you'll have everything you need for a perfect experience. The kiting conditions are incredibly consistent: side-on wind that blows all the time, with all sorts of waves to play on. I was there in late August and rode my 8.5m or 10.5m every day -- I can see why northern Brazil is legendary for it's reliable winds. And you can do epic downwinders ranging from about 5 km to the flatwater lagoon or an incredible 25 km to the popular kiting spot in Paracuru (where you can grab lunch at the restaurant on the beach and watch all the kiters try and impress the onlookers). The water is warm (no wetsuit needed), the beach is sandy with no rocks or other hidden water hazards. Rent a buggy from a nearby pousada if you want to have a blast cruising down right on the beach or for just getting around town. Taiba itself is a great, laid back and quaint town -- cobblestone streets, local fisherman selling their fresh catches, a central plaza with various restaurants and markets -- and check out the public capoeira lessons they have several nights each week in the plaza. One helpful tip: the nearest cash machine is in Pecem, which is about 15 min away by buggy directly along the beach at low tide, or twice that on the paved road. If you're arriving from Fortaleza, get cash while you're there. Enjoy your time, and happy kiting!
Kitesurfing, a New Sport and Here is One of the Best Spots in the World. Constant breezes through most of the year makes this an ideal location .
