Crescent Beach Townhome Rental Photos and Description
Townhome, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)
This three-story Spanish style townhouse with characteristic red tile roof is right on the ocean in Crescent Beach, just a few miles south of St. Augustine Beach on Anastasia Island, and best of all, only 15 minutes from Interstate 95. It’s in a primarily residential area with private homes and low-rise condominiums nearby. Because it is located in a residential area, the beach is never crowded and you can always find a place to stake your umbrella. The beach here is wide, soft white sugar sand, and always clean. The water is crystal clear and you can see the sandy bottom. As you go across the dune walkover, you can see what appears to be an endless stretch of white sand to the north and south and you will quickly feel like you are living on Island Time. The dune walkover has built-in seating and tables for enjoying the evening breeze and view of the ocean and gently swaying sea oats. There is nothing as calming and beautiful as the full moon and stars reflecting from a calm ocean.
After a day at the beach or the pool, you will feel like you’ve moved to the tropics. As you step on the cool Mexican tile floor of the townhouse, you are surrounded by cool hues of turquoise and green and tropical furniture. The top two floors of the townhouse comprise the living area with a covered balcony overlooking the beautiful Atlantic on the second floor. Below is a fully enclosed, private two-car garage.
St. Augustine lays claim to being the oldest city in the United States, being founded in 1565. Many of the original structures built by the Spanish conquistadores are still standing and open to the public, including the two original Spanish forts, original schoolhouse and jail. There are restaurants too numerous to count, many of which are situated on either the Intracoastal Waterway or the Atlantic Ocean. The selection ranges from local seafood eateries to upscale gourmet restaurants. A large pedestrian shopping area is home to many local artists’ shops as well as the local nightlife. For a great view of the entire area, you can visit the top of St. Augustine's famous lighthouse...and no trip to St. Augustine would be complete without checking out the Alligator Farm. With all of these local attractions and the Orlando theme parks and Kennedy Space Center just 90 minutes away, this is a great location for family vacations.
If you are in the mood for action, there are many locations nearby where boats, jet skis, kayaks and the like are available for rent. There are quite a few public golf courses , including World of Golf, and also public tennis facilities. If these activities are not for you, try can go bicycling, wind-surfing, surfing or even fishing -- only steps from your front door.

About Janice Sauvain
My husband and I have long wanted a place where we could go to escape the pressures and fast pace of life in the city. We live in Atlanta, and before that, Philadelphia. For many years we vacationed at the Florida beaches and we are both from the south. The ideal vacation for us is far away from the traffic and the noise at a place where we can sit and read or just enjoy the fresh air without having to be constantly involved in some activity. That said, we like to play golf and tennis and participate in many other sports, and be able to have a nice meal away from home on occasion. The St. Augustine area provides all of this for us. Unfortunately for us, we both work and cannot spend as much time at the beach as we would like. Fortunately for others, this allows an opportunity for us to share our little piece of paradise with other families who just want to get away from it all.
Janice Sauvain purchased this townhome in 2003
Why Janice Sauvain chose Crescent Beach
My husband and I vacationed in beach and resort areas for several years, and loved the time we spent at the beach. After many years we decided to look for a vacation home of our own. Over a period of three years or so we looked at many properties in the South Carolina beach resorts and east coast of Florida, and finally decided on Spyglass. We chose to purchase this particular townhouse because it is direct ocean front in a smaller, well-maintained complex with excellent access to all amenities and we loved the Spanish architecture and tropical looking grounds. We share a stairway with only one other unit, allowing for more security and privacy. There are no extra people walking by our townhouse and looking in windows or doors. Another deciding feature was the large two-car garage, which protects our automobiles and personal belongings. Another key factor was easy access…Spyglass is only 6 miles away from I-95, so in less than 15 minutes of leaving the interstate, you can literally be on the beach. There are several year-round residents at Spyglass looking out for the best interests of the property and a very responsible property manager who ensures the grounds and and buildings are well-maintained at all times. Access to the beach is private and the community is several miles away from the more densely populated condominiums and commercial areas.
What makes this townhome unique
The single most satisfying benefit of being in this beach community is simply being at the beach. Once you cross the bridge onto the island, everything slows down and life is more relaxing. Sitting on the balcony or on the beach and just watching and listening to the waves is one of the most peaceful pastimes imaginable.
