About this property

Loam Haus: Modern Mountain Getaway tucked into the Forest

Make yourself at home in the trees at Loam Haus, a contemporary Cabin nestled in the woods of Pisgah National Forest, just 10 mins. from downtown Brevard. Mountain bikers come for the 200 miles of renowned, singletrack trails and stay for phenomenal sunsets on the two-level deck, the toasty gas fireplace (+ outdoor fire pit), the swaying hammock, and three ultra-comfy bedrooms. Prefer your adventures on foot? The hiking trails surrounding Loam Haus—in the Land of Waterfalls—are equally unforgettable.

The interiors at Loam Haus are as luminous as the natural beauty that surrounds it. Custom stonework, like the fireplace and entry stairs, make the home feel like a natural extension of the landscape, and art prints pay homage to the beauty of the Appalachians. Meanwhile, clean lines, geometric tiles, and a contemporary kitchen (complete with a next-level coffee station) bring just the right amount of modern style to the space.

We are mountain-bike friendly! On the lower level, find wall storage for up to 7 bikes, plus a work area so you can prep and repair for a day on Pisgah’s advanced trails (or an easier day at DuPont State Forest). We also provide cycling water bottles for staying hydrated, and a mini-fridge for chilling your post-ride beers. Pop one open around the fire pit in the golden hours of early evening, while someone else sears burgers on the deck’s gas grill for dinner.

Plush furniture on the deck places you in front of a beautiful mountain view… or sneak down to the hammock on the lower-level deck for a little solitude.

Three bedrooms at Loam House include two King-size bedrooms upstairs and one Queen bedroom downstairs. The two King bedrooms share access to a spacious bath with a walk-in shower. Claim the first King bedroom for yourself—it features a private deck with a plush loveseat, perfect for midnight stargazing.

Downstairs, a Queen-sized bedroom has its own en-suite bath with a tub/shower combination and a desk area for catching up on emails.

The kitchen comes fully equipped with a stove, fridge, and dishwasher, plus small appliances. Before you hit the trails, get your blood flowing with a freshly pulled espresso on the Breville, or fill your travel mug from the one-cup brewer.

Other perks include:

-Two 60” flat-screen Smart TVs (Netflix) on the main and lower floors
-Stacked washer + dryer
-Free parking on-site
-One mile to the entrance of Pisgah National Forest, with some of the best biking and hiking trails anywhere in the Appalachians
~10 minutes to downtown Brevard and Squatch Bikes & Brews
-1 mile to Bike Farm for guided rides and coaching
-14 minutes to Bracken Preserve

One of the east coast’s best playgrounds for outdoor adventure, western NC features over 1.5 million acres of protected land. Pisgah National Forest alone—where Loam House is located—comprises 500,000 acres and 2,000+ square miles, ranging from elevation from mountain peaks to rushing rivers.

Pisgah and Brevard are gaining national (and even worldwide) notoriety for their challenging, epically rewarding singletrack mountain bike trails. Pisgah’s Black Mountain trail is among the most popular, with its sweeping views from the top of Lower Black (Hickory Knob).

DuPont State Recreational Forest, just 12 miles from the rental, offers more beginner-friendly trails that will still take your breath away.

Stop by Squatch Bike and Brews in Brevard (10-minute drive) for trail updates, repairs, or to chat with knowledgeable locals. While you’re in Brevard, fuel up on eggs benedict or Belgian waffles (or both) at Brevard Diner, or pretzel dogs and milkshakes at Corky’s Dawg House.

Amazing house
The photos do not do this house justice. It has a very modern feel that differs from many homes in the area. It was immaculate. The house is well stocked with games and we enjoyed a jigsaw puzzle. The driveway was very steep but we drove cautiously and managed. The beds were comfortable and everything was beautiful.

Perfect for Star Gazing
This property far exceeded our expectations. From the beginning, the hosts were proactive in communicating with us. They provided excellent local recommendations and offered several add ons to make your stay even more enjoyable. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the decor was stunning. The back deck was perfect for star gazing. Highly recommend Loam House!

End of Summer Retreat
Our family booked Loom Haus to extend our stay in Brevard due to our original rental not being available for the full dates of our trip. Communication with Matthew and his team was flawless. The home is as advertised, very new and well-appointed, convenient to all the things and a perfect endcap to our summer. I will note, we experienced a sleepless night due to fire alarms sounding on our first night, but the host team did an exceptional job of responding, communicating and problem-solving. Turns out, a battery was dead in one of the units - which was out of anyone's control; just bad luck with timing on our part. Ashley was at the house promptly the next day and addressed the issue, so we could enjoy the remainder of our stay - in peace & quiet. Thank you, Loom Haus!

Amazing home-away-from-home!
The Loam Haus was just what we were looking for when we decided to get the heck out of Florida for a family vacation. The house is brand new and fully appointed with high end everything (although the coffee maker was way too high tech for me). They thought of everything. You really do not need to bring anything but your clothes, food and bikes. It was just so clean, modern and spacious. I loved the basement with the bike work area - super cool. The neighborhood is beautiful and safe. We felt totally comfortable leaving our 13 yr old home alone (he got sick) whilst we hiked in Pisgah. My husband was completely surprised by the driveway. It is steep and intimidating (for Floridians), not unlike all of the other driveways on the road. That being said, we drive a Ford F250 King Cab and the driveway got my husband a bit flustered. Given the size of our vehicle, we had to attempt many turns to get it parked properly. By the end of the holiday, we mastered parking with only one turn; we were so proud of ourselves. I loved this place so much I want to come back in the fall and winter (the people at the Hub said there is mountain biking and hiking all year round). We did a day trip to the Biltmore and it was fabulous! if one is into history, culture and art, make sure to include this land mark in your itinerary. There is a cool trail at the end of Turkey Creek (at the end of the dirt road) that will take you into Pisgah if you have the time to traverse it. We did not.
