OUR BEST VACATION HOME RENTAL EXPERIENCE YET!

  • 5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at telegraph penthouse, you absolutely can't find a better value in a prettier place with such a great location. Our family of five, including our 18, 13 and 11 year old kids, had more than enough room for relaxing and enjoying our downtime. We really liked being able to make breakfast in the apartment before we went out and even made a dinner in after one long day. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and clean up. We picked up detergent at Safeway (which has free parking early am and late PM on the street) also and took advantage of the washer and dryer (a major plus for us). Being a healthy and active group, we opted to walk most places including AT&T park and fisherman's wharf. We decided to keep a car and parked in the recommended lot (it is machine attended off hours and worked fine) and did manage some free overnight street parking a couple times with some effort. We really liked having a car for our Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito visit, but it's personal preference weighing parking hassle and cost vs. what you save on airport shuttle, etc. We did the Filbert Steps to visit Coit Tower and then Vallejo Steps to earn our dessert. I loved the sheets and towels which were plush and plentiful, the apartment was very clean, beds really comfortable and the view of the Bay Bridge was especially nice (I had my evening glass of wine watching the bridge each night). I was worried about keeping the noise down on the wood floors and stairs because of a prior review, but we managed without any problem - even with our teenaged boys. The welcome snacks and cold waters were much appreciated and we had no problem following the instructions provided. Everything in the apartment worked and was in great shape, it is clear that significant investment was made remodeling, updating and decorating. It is also very well located with great views, walking distance to anything you need or want. I recommend the apartment highly and hope to visit again someday, thank you for everything Richard!

CLEAN, MODERN APARTMENT

  • 5 of 5
We had a group of 6 stay here in late May 2014 and had a fantastic time. The apartment has a great view of the bay bridge, clean and updated room, walking distance to Chinatown, Ferry Building, Telegraph Hill, North Beach, and Fisherman's Wharf. Would definitely stay here again.

A WONDERFUL BASE FOR EXPLORING A WONDERFUL CITY

  • 5 of 5
We were so glad that we rented this apartment instead of booking a hotel room. The location is perfect for visiting all the major sights and the apartment is very well equipped. We loved the view and didn't switch on the TV at all. Lots of little ferries, sailing boats and container ships can be watched, and at night Bay Bridge is sparkling with little lights. The sunrise was quite spectacular.
You need to be able to climb hills and steep stairs, if you want to stay in this apartment, but when we were very tired after a day of walking around town, we sometimes took the bus up to Coit Tower and walked downhill to the apartment. And there are plenty of taxis, too.
The neighbourhood is very picturesque, with very well maintained gardens along the steps that lead up Telegraph Hill. It was also very quiet and set back from the bustle down by the piers.
The owner is very easy to communicate with and has put a lot of effort into making this apartment feel like a home away from home. It was very clean. The beds were slightly on the soft side, but still comfortable. Everything worked well. We had a great time. Thanks!

GREAT BASE FOR FAMILY VACATION

  • 5 of 5
We really enjoyed our stay! The apartment was clean and light-filled, and the view was wonderful! Was so nice to have a washer and dryer so that we could pack light. We didn’t do a lot of cooking, but the kitchen was well stocked with basic equipment. Location was great for touristy activities. We walked downtown and to Fisherman’s Wharf, and we caught the bus to Golden Gate Park. Lots of restaurants close by, as well as a very adequate corner grocery at the corner of Green and Kearny. Close to everything, but still quiet, especially at night. Both the apartment itself and the location were ideal for our family vacation, and we would definitely stay here again!

GREAT SPRING BREAK WITH FAMILY

  • 5 of 5
We had the most fantastic time in San Francisco made all the better by a stay at the most convenient Telegraph Hill penthouse. Beginning with the smooth booking process, the much needed welcoming snacks, very comfortable beds, an Oakland Bay Bridge light show that is amazing and a location that can't be beat, we would definitely look to stay here again.

Our family of 5 (3 teenagers) was very comfortable in the Penthouse. We were missing one member of the family who was to school and could have been just as comfortable if he was able to join us....next time!

What could have been better....not much. Everything was close once you got the lay of the land including BART and MUNI stops. It is fair to note that the property is nearly at the top of telegraph hill. Although it is part of the San Francisco experience, be aware - once you go down you need to get back up (you will be rewarded with the view). We were able to climb the Fulton Steps once which should be experienced. We arrived late in the evening and personally I am a coffee drinker before I get going in the morning and although the owner had a nice snack basket waiting there was no coffee (the horrors!). I survived and despite this look forward to renting again and again. I risk telling everyone about my new found spot but I think I have found my "base" in one of my favorite cities in the world.

FAMILY OF 6-(4 TEENAGERS)

  • 5 of 5
We spent six nights at this property on Montgomery St in San Francisco. The owner was reliable, accurate and hospitable. We stayed for one night in the lower unit and then moved up to the third floor. The property was excellently represented on the web site- clean, well maintained, and spectacular views from both apts. The light show on the Bay Bridge is spectacular. The location was superb. We did not rent a car and explored multiple areas such as north beach, the waterfront, chinatown and union square- all accessible on foot. Recommend breakfast at Cafe Divine. Dinner at Brand Ho's. Rent a bike on Columbus. DeSoto Cab has minivans and we had them take us to Candlestick Park for a tour and to Train station. I recommend this rental highly and without any hesitation.

Notes:
The flat also includes: in-unit washer and dryer, high-speed Internet (available through a secured WI-FI network, cable television, including On-Demand movies & television is also included. IPod / iPhone speakers is available and a wireless Printer/Fax/Copier can be provided on request. The unit also has a room safe so you can secure your personal belongings as you would in a hotel. Since the unit is a 3rd floor penthouse and located on a hill, access for wheelchairs and strollers would be very difficult. No parking is offered with the unit and I don't recommend travelers rent autos during their stay here since San Francisco is a difficult place to find parking. In any case, the property has a Walkscore rating of 98/100 and a Transitscore of 100/100 so a car is quite unnecessary.
