Great girls weekend!

  • of 5
We had a great weekend in Beth's VRBO! The pictures are quite accurate and we enjoyed having more space than we expected. The rental was clean and inviting and we had everything we needed. Instructions for the home were clearly listed and it included instructions for the TVs, fireplace, garage access, parking, etc. Beth was quite accomodating and available for whatever question we had (we encountered NO problems) and offered great suggestions for local restaurants and things to do.

We would stay again like in the summer to enjoy the gorgeous views of the MS river!

Fun in N.E. Mpls.

  • 4 of 5
My friends and I enjoyed an awesome long weekend at Beth's place, we found it to be very clean, well equipped and in a great neighbourhood. The location on the river is great for people who are interested in hanging out on the decks and enjoying a meal and a drink overlooking the river. We brought our bicycles so having a garage to store them was ideal, there is bike routes in close proximity and pretty easy to get most places in the twin cities. There are lots of great places to check out in the North-east including (but no limited to) The Sample Room, Dangerous Man, Kramarczuk's (Sunday brunch for sure) and The Crescent Bakery. If you want to do your own cooking there is a good grocery store with a decent wine/beer selection within walking distance and also a couple of coffee spots. There is plenty of room for 3 couples and there were no issues with parking our vehicles. As much as this condo is on a busy street it is set back and we didn't find any issues with traffic noise. We had a couple of minor issues but Beth was available and they were dealt with to our satisfaction.

Owner's Response: I'm always happy when my guests have enjoyed there stay at my place as I always try to accomadate each guest with their needs. Of course a house is always work in progress as issues due happen from time to time. This time it was the ac as the tech was there before guest arrived, and at that time was fixed. During their stay the ac had more problems, but through some communication with my guest we got it working as I learned a big lesson which is to write down better instructions for each appliance. In the end everything worked out and my guests were happy.

Perfect location, perfect size

  • 5 of 5
This place was amazing, very accurate description. Photos appropriately reflected the space. It was the perfect size for my large family and I would recommend it to multiple couples who want to enjoy NE Minneapolis. The beds were comfortable and we were able to have a cookout with the grill. Everything is included, even towels. It was a memorable weekend and this was part of it. The view of the river was spectacular, the neighbors respectful and nice. Great location - close to NE Minneapolis bars (Psycho Suzis!) and restaurants, plus a close driving distance to Midtown and Downtown. Perfect for a weekend stay or a week's stay. The only drawback is that there was cotton pollen all over the yard and sometimes it would creep into the house, which made it difficult to clean up after we were gone.

Owner's Response: Yes, unfortunately every year in August Mother Nature dumps the cotton balls on the yard, and I agree it's a bit of a nuisance. Thank got it's not snow, and only last for about a week.

wedding weekend

  • 2 of 5
The condo was nice, but we had issues. No water in the hottub, no toilet paper, hairdryer didn't work. It's also a little creepy with someone's urn on the steps. The owner wouldn't return deposit fee, saying the house was not cleaned up well. Two deck chairs were dry rotted and people fell thru when they were seated... was later told they were the neighbor's chairs and that no one ever uses the lower deck. Don't have more than 6 people over after midnight or the neighbors report you have too many sleeping there. Location was lovely, but would not return due to the problems after leaving and the owner calling me a liar about the issues.

Owner's Response: In response to Mary's stay at my condo you might want to disregard everything she stated after I share this story of her stay at my place. Upon booking she asked if she could throw a event at my place hosting a party of 17, and I replied immediately that due to condo association rules, liability matters, and damage to my property I never rent my place for events. She said she never received the email, and called 2 weeks out wanting address to send out invitations. I felt bad so I let her stay, and have event at my place. Though I did forward copy of original email I sent her a month prior stating I don't let guests host party, clearly she was trying to play dumb in hopes I would let her host event as I did. Here are facts to the mess she created!
1). She lied about number of guests staying in my home as my place only sleeps 6, and she had over 10 guests sleeping in my place.
2). She lied about attendance as she stated 17, but there was over 30 guests for event.
3). She promised my place would be immaculate upon her departure, and it was a mess as It took my cleaning lady over 6hrs to clean, and prepare for next guests on same day of departure.
4) I don't list the hot tub on my website as a prior guest broke the hot tub, and I have now since drained, and covered.
5). She broke door handle, glasses due to dishwasher was plum full, broke towel hook, and 2 chairs on the lower deck that she said was rotted. I don't use the lower deck, because I have 2 patios with beautiful furniture.
6). As a result of her inconsideration of leaving my place a mess, my next guests were disappointed upon arrival, and I credited back one night stay for their inconvenience.
7) As far as toilet paper my cleaning always makes sure there is tp in my home, but clearly with all the guests she ran out, and blamed me.
8) . In the end my guest cost me over $500.00 as I had to pay my cleaning lady more, replace chairs that were not mine to begin with, replace broken glasses, rack, fix handle, and credit back one night stay to next guests, because of her inconsideration of my home, and dishonesty.
In closing you can see by all my reviews that all of my guests are quite pleased as I take pride in my home, and I'm extremely meticulous about the cleanliness, and comfort for all guests. Incidents happen usually due to dishonesty of their intentions, but the repercussions last awhile. Very happy Mary will not be returning!

Owner's Response: Hi Sarah,

I'm so happy you enjoyed my place as I try to make everyone's stay as relaxing as possible, and stress free. That's why I let my guests check in, and out at anytime unless I have new arrivals coming in on the same day of checking in or out. I look forward to your return, and you should come back in the summer the Mississippi is so beautiful.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5
We rented the condo for a quick weekend with some old friends from high school. The condo was roomy and spotless! It worked great for what we needed. The living room/bar area downstairs was great for socializing, and everyone reported that their rooms were comfortable.

It was too cold out to really enjoy the outdoor area, but the patios would be a great place to hang out in warmer weather. The only bummer is that there is a quarry or something right across the river which made quite a bit of noise. We didn't utilize the kitchen, but it seemed well stocked if you felt like cooking.

Psycho Suzi's bar/restaurant is about a twenty second walk door-to-door. We spent plenty of time there and it's quite convenient. Definitely a huge plus to have an establishment that close. The drinks were strong and the food was palatable.

We took a cab whenever we went anywhere. It was about $12 to get downtown, and about the same price to get to TCF Bank Stadium on the U of M campus. If you are coming form the airport I would recommend taking the light rail downtown before catching a cab. From the airport a taxi would be $50-60 but you can ride the rail to downtown for $1.75.

All in all it was a great stay, and I would definitely stay at Beth's condo again if I came to Minneapolis.
