Comfortable, affordable, easy to get to skiing

When I made the reservation, there were no reviews of the condo. Today, I read the 'other' one, and I could have written it. Almost all what Linda N wrote I agree with. The rental property management were very friendly and helpful. We had to check out at 10am, but our flight was not until 3pm, and we were allowed to leave our luggage in the management office and go into town for a few hours of shopping and lunch. But, in 7 years of VRBO renting, this is the first time I didn't actually work with an individual person who owned a condo and was renting it out for a period he wasn't living in it.
The kitchen is fully equipped, bath is warm and comfy, bed is comfortable. LR is more than spacious - the only time at least half the living room was used was when Door2Door ski rental brought our skis and laid them out for fitting to the boots. The condo IS warm. We opened the window in the bedroom about 2 inches (and the low was 20) and still slept with sheets only. We had plenty of towels for a week, more blankets than we needed. The neighbors are easily heard. I'm sure they could hear us, too. Walking barefoot I could hear my steps echoing.
The shuttle bus stop is just about 50 steps away. The condo has a full kitchen and we wanted to use it. In Teton Village, the few grocery choices are really delis, barely able to provide bread and eggs. A dollar per person takes us to the Aspens and a small grocery store. We didn't go into Jackson to Albertson's, which is a full grocery, and would be a $3/person shuttle trip.
We got there after spring started with -8 temps the first day, and 52 temp the last afternoon. Skiing was excellent.

inexpensive lodging, not too far from mountain

Check-in is off-site, so if you are in a cab or anything but a rental car, difficult. Unit has been updated, but it's right at the stairs, and the wood hallways are brutal with skiboots - the walls shake. When other units are full, you can hear conversations/parties. Towels are not great,(stiff, scratchy, small) and there aren't many (6?). No extra blankets/throws for the couch. Unit runs HOT - even with the heaters off, unit stayed too warm (ambient heat from neighbors?) - and this was March! Snowing outside! No spices or basic condiments in kitchen. It's listed in VRBO, but it's not a classic VRBO - none of the personal 'RBO' touches we've grown accustomed to over the years. It felt very much as though it was a part of a large rental company. WiFi password completetly stopped working a day early, and was spotty for the early days. It's not a fireplace, but a wood stove. Checkin is at 4 - but checkout is at 10:00 am. The charge PER HOUR for a late checkout is equivalent to more than 35% of a night's stay - ridiculous for a condo in this price category. VRBO lists location as 'at the base of the mountain', and that's a stretch. It's a 10-15 minute walk with ski boots on, and shuttle service is sporadic.

Not a bad place, the noise level is a hard one to get around, but it's a good value ~~ except for the late checkout fee, and the early check-out time. That's a deal breaker for us, we won't be back.

BUT - we LOVED Jackson Hole, and we WILL be back to the town!!
