QUALITY AND COMFORTS: This house has been remodeled by the best craftsmanship, completed with crown moldings, baseboards and trims. Color, mass and lighting are coordinated throughout the house to create a sense of ease and comfort in a 'money no object' fashion. From the grand entry adorned by the majestic columns and the mahogany door, to the mahogany dining set and the full kitchen with granite counter tops, the designer has made the house into a living experience where the environment serves the inhabitant and not the other way around. If there is a verbatim to capture the essence of the house it must be 'Simple Elegance'.
BACKYARD/NEIGHBORHOOD ATTRACTION: The back yard features a beautiful arbor, covered gazebo and a full bar with refrigerated compartment for beers. And for that summer afternoon cookout, or any afternoon for that matter, we added a chef BBQ gas grill (Turbo Galore) for that hi heat cooking, a beer cooler and a fridge.
You are practically within minutes to a multitude of restaurants, shopping centers, bars and lounges, beauty salons, gyms and spas. The newly remodeled Oakridge Mall hosts a number of named diners and entertainment establishments such PF Chang, California Kitchen, The Fish Market, The Cheese Cake Factory and a 20-screen Movieplex. On Blossom Hill Rd., the main cross street from the house you can find just about any things; in a stretch of 2 miles you’d find 2 Lucky supermarkets, 2 Starbucks, 2 Walgreens, CVS, 2 Bank of America, 2 Wells Fargo, Olive Garden, Outback steak house and the list goes on.
TRANSPORTATION is also very convenient: Freeways 101 and 85 are just around the corner, the Santa Theresa Light Rail station is within walking distance, Bus 66 drives right in front on Blossom Hill Rd. which will take you any where in the general San Jose- Santa Clara metropolis.
ENTERTAINMENT: For those audio-videophiles, the Net Surfers and gamers the house features a 50 megabit high speed Internet line, an brand new XBOX console, a 7-speakers Home Theater system, a 60-inch Smart LG HDTV large screen TV. To make the experience complete we spare no expenses and install a cable package that include a hi-def DVR box, free movies, HBO, Sports Package, Speed Channel, etc...
We recently remodeled the backyard to include a bar with refrigerated storage underneath so you can have your party entirely in the back yard. See pics.
One thing seems to stand out about this house is the attention to detail as far as the interior design, the furniture choice, paint color and of course the amount of electronic equipment, as the other reviewers have mentioned.
The house comes as advertised and some. Kitchen complete set of plates, utensils,Knife set. There large plates for seafood display and/or Italian dishes. The living room and family room have plush leather sofas, the kind that sort of make you not wanting to get up once sit down.
Since I am the boss of this group I got to stay in the master bedroom, which is large and beautiful with custom draperies, large screen TV with HD box and a very stylized European bathroom. The king bed and its accompanied furniture seem to be expensive.
The back yard, as it probably has been designed with parties in mind have many tables and chairs and some extra equipment such as the natural gas grill(for a large number of people)and the glass display soda fridge, the beer cooler, etc...I agree with the one reviewer that these pieces made an otherwise a very beautiful and serene backyard, kind of busy looking.
All paper products and towels and linen are provided. I can see other supplies there as well such as shampoo, conditioner and soap that are not part of their advertised provided items.
During our stay of 2 weeks there were no breakdown of any equipment or appliances. The owner Ken have always responded very quickly to our requests.
We travel on business a lot and this definitely beat the dreadful hotel room. You can say it is "home away from home", with all of its luxury comforts and amenities.
Looking forward to staying here again.
We a re a group of colleagues who were here to attend a professional seminar. None of us have any experience with vacation rentals so we thought we might just give it a try.
It turned out great; better than I expected. We brought most of our toiletries and own towels and other misc personal needed items. What we found was the house came stocked with almost all the supplies we need; There are paper towels for the kitchen , plenty of toilet paper, soap, shampoo and conditioner.
The house is definitely beautiful anyway you look at it but to me, in its unique, artsy way. I guess that is one thing that all reviewers agree, whether they like the house or not, is that it is beautiful.. I can see on the wall some originals or signed lithographs by world famous painters such as Leroy Neiman. Lebadang and Salvador Daii
Eventough I like the large screen 60" TV, the Hometheater and the hi-speed WIFI I think it is a little overdone and make things a little too complicated to use but then again this is Silicon Valley you guys probably like that kind of stuff.
The owner is definitely very helpful and responsive in providing us with everything we need, from lending his laptop to giving us excellent pointers to the best entertaining and eating venues in the city.
We enjoy our stay and definitely call on Ken again in our future excursions.
LEMONS, LEMONS, LEMONS! The most prolific and beautiful lemon trees in the back yard provided us the fruit for our iced tea and as much lemonade as we had time to make. If you stay here, bring a lemon juicer and make a simple syrup and enjoy the lovely lemons. The house accommodated our family group who were in town for my son's wedding, and the location was convenient to many restaurants, stores, and a nice place for five of us to get a manicure/ pedicure before the rehearsal dinner. Kitchen needed a few more glasses that were not wine glasses, but otherwise we had the basic kitchen equipment, plates, and cutlery for breakfast and lunchtime preps. Ate out every night due to family events. We were there during a hot week, so the air conditioning was a big plus. A mild criticism wrapped in a compliment: the back yard is pretty and provides nice shade, and there were plenty of chairs for us to sit and enjoy the California weather as we ate our breakfast or drank our lemonade, but there are some excess pieces of equipment stored in the back yard that, were they to be removed, would only make the space more enjoyable. Ken, the owner, was very nice to work with and his thorough review of the house upon our check in was very helpful. He also gave us a very good recommendation on one of the local (not chain) restaurants that we visited with other family members who were also in town for the wedding. We would certainly return to enjoy this house again and to visit lovely San Jose even if we didn't have a big wedding to celebrate!
This is a beautiful house as described and one I would consider purchasing if in the market. That said, it was not ready for occupancy as a rental. The housekeepers were still working when we arrived and we went elsewhere for an hour or so to allow them to finish. Upon moving in we discovered it was not clean and three of us spent four hours the next morning dusting furniture, cleaning kitchen drawers, wiping out the refrigerator and making the downstairs habitable. The bathrooms were clean, but there were inadequate hand towels, wash cloths, and kitchen towels; however, these were supplied upon request.
In the master bedroom, the dresser drawers contained items left from previous occupants, the closets were dusty and had bedding (futons and duvets) thrown into the rear of the closet. The inner shower curtain in the master suite was stained and dirty looking.
We were six people and there was inadequate flatware and we hand washed spoons and forks to make do. There were also no hot pads for handling hot items.
The back patio was littered, the furniture was well used, and the gas grill was filthy and in disrepair which was unfortunate as it was a big factor in our decision to rent as we had planned on entertaining.
The owner explained that a construction crew had been staying there and didn't move out until that morning and that they were coming back upon our departure. He also made a comment that he was doing us a favor by honoring our rental agreement (made five months earlier) as he has a contract with
the construction company. It is our opinion that if the house couldn't be made ready as a VRBO rental he should have notified us so we could make other arrangements or made sure the place was
ready. He should decide if he wants vacation or corporate rentals.
All of the electronics and special touches to the house make it a great house and we enjoyed our stay
once we cleaned and made adjustments.
I am part of a team of techs sent here by our company from back east. We thoroughly enjoy the house. Love all the conveniences of the house; from the shower's instant hot water to the free movies on HD cable and the very fast Internet . We made frequent use of the backyard and BBQ grills. The large covered porch and gazebo allowed us to do BBQ even when it was raining.
The owner was very helpful and responsive to our requests. Couldn't be happier!
I would recommend this place to anybody.
I stayed here for a couple of weeks for a short work contract. Couldn't be happier. Things are just as described on the web ad. and more. A few things that are great for me are very fast internet, fantastic HDTV's, great cable package with free movies and stuffs.
The owner is more than accommodating . Service good. Backyard is great for outside BBQ and gathering with covered porch and gazebo, not to mention the very fertile lemon tree that made us many a lemonade.
In the vicinity there are plenty of entertainment venues and restaurants and movie theater. My favorite Fish Market is right down the street from Oakridge mall
Located in an area called Blossom Valley of San Jose, near parks, schools, Oakridge Mall, Coyote Golf course, Many famous restaurants.
