WHAT A VIEW!!!
I was here at your cabin with friends to attend Merlefest. It was very far away from Wilkesboro. Personally, too far, but that is not at issue as I was late in looking for a place to stay and was happy to find this one. This is a beautiful, well equipped cabin. It was very clean and the grounds were well maintained. The King and queen beds were very comfortable. The full bed in the upstairs bedroom...not so much.
There were a couple of things that we were not pleased with. The biggest issue is the driveway and specifically the last most steep part. It needs to be emphasized even more how difficult this cabin is to get to. A couple of the nights it took us 3 tries to get to the top and that was after emptying out the car and walking to the top. Won't do that again. 4 wheel drive is almost a must!!!
Secondly, we all thought it was terrible that the TV on the main floor is not connected to regular stations. So, no catching up on the news or weather from that TV while cooking breakfast or dinner or when you come back from a busy day. Ridiculous! I wouldn't come back just because of that. Not a good way to save money. That should be disclosed up front.
The hot tub was unavailable to us the first night. We were disappointed by this as it had been a very long day. All it needed was to be unplugged and replugged but we did not know that. It was nice on night 2.
Owner's Response: Hi Deborah, Thank you for staying at our cabin and giving such good feedback. It helps us to make our cabin better for our guests. I am so sorry you had difficulities with the TV and hot tub. We will certainly check with the Satellite provider as the TV should have local channels. Being ridgetop and secluded, this cabin does have a long inclined roadway to reach it. We certainly want guest to anticipate the drive. Thank you again for your feedback. Have a great summer!
