This new, luxurious chalet is nestled at the edge of the Blue Ridge Parkway on a very quiet 1/2+ acre wooded property in the city limit. The location offers the convenience of a short drive to downtown Asheville and immediate access to the countryside.
You will be 3 min to a Blue Ridge Parkway access, less than 3 miles to I40, 5 min to downtown shops and restaurants via expressway 240, 4.1 miles to the Biltmore Estate, and walking distance to the fabulous Folk Art Center!
There is plenty of opportunity for hiking or biking on forest trails and on country roads without using your car...
In fact, the Mountain to Sea trail is right there and you could take a hike to the highest peak East of the Mississippi from your door step! Biking on the nearby country roads is also a treat; take a look for instance at the pastoral Warren Wilson College campus, just a healthy ride away.
The chalet is suitable for a couple (very comfortable queen size bed) and a loft can accommodate up to 2 children as needed. There is a fully equipped kitchen, full size bath, and private, covered deck. We do not accept pets in the chalet but will consider pet visitors if they can stay on the deck or in the guest room downstairs. Our living space is non-smoking and we strive to make it as healthy and relaxing as we would like it to be for our own vacations. The hot water is solar heated, the paints are non VOC, and most of the wood features are locally and custom made.
Equipment includes wireless internet access, 46' HD TV, CD, DVD, Blue-ray, MP3 and USB player.
The chalet has a washer and dryer for your convenience.
There is ample cabinetry and shelf space available and the kitchen is supplied with high quality appliances/utensils so that cooking is not just an option! Please, inquire by email if you'd like to view more pictures or if you have specific questions.
We also offer guests discount tickets for Biltmore Estate and for ultimate comfort we arrange for professional massage therapy on site. A sauna / tylarium is also available in the guest room. Please, inquire at time of reservation or a few days before arrival.

We made this chalet available for vacation rental in 2010 after careful consideration for the ease of access to numerous touristic destinations.
The location is ideal for a vacation rental because of it's proximity to what Asheville has to offer as a vibrant, liveable, and diverse community and ease of access to year round fun and enjoyment in the surrounding area. One can't help but feel deeply touch by the natural beauty of this region...and you will be able to walk from the chalet to appreciate it!
Our craftsman chalet is unique in its construction and style which makes for something special for your visit. You will feel at home with both privacy and proximity to everything to make the most out of your stay in Asheville. You will find the chalet most welcoming and comfortable on your return from day trips.
Since we live next door, we are most of the time available to help immediately if you need.
Being on this side of town, you will not be slowed down by heavy traffic, making your stay all the more relaxing.
The sauna is always available to guests and we will arrange for professional massage on site as well. You might also appreciate being a mile away from the Blue Ridge Pkwy access ramp.
I really loved this cabin. My family (two adults, two kids) stayed here for one night between two far-apart destinations during a long trip, and it was truly restful, welcoming, and comfortable. The sauna is just right after a morning workout. Every little detail in the house is extremely well thought-out and planned; every appliance, device, fitting, fixture, what-have-you is beautiful and works very well. There was a funky and thoughtful collection of movies and music on hand for us to enjoy. I wish I'd stayed longer and done some cooking; the kitchen looked like I could have gone to town. Lots of utensils and dishes that one doesn't normally see in little rental places. I loved the smell of natural cleaning products -- the place was immaculate. Looking at all the thought that went into sustainability and low-impact living was entertaining and gave me some great ideas for my own home. Space is tight, but not cramped. It's efficient and fun. And beautiful.
This was absolutely beautiful. We were a little worried about the size, but WOW, what a fantastic floor plan. Everything in it was high end. The owner treated us the same way he built the chalet, with perfection.
You quickly realize how much pride Jean-Jacques and his wife the put into their chalet. I have never stayed at a cleaner or more well kept place. My wife and I normally get the 2 or 3 floor homes simply to feel more like home. This put the other places we have stayed to shame. It more than met our needs and more. We strongly recommend this to anyone!!!!!!!

My wife and I stayed in the chalet for 10 days in June, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Jean-Jacques is a very accommodating host. The chalet itself is on the small side, but it has a very efficient layout and we did not feel cramped by any means. The kitchen is well-stocked and comfortable to use (we cooked most of our meals). The sauna was a real treat, as was the extra space downstairs for yoga/exercise. All in all we thought this was a near-perfect place to stay for an Asheville vacation, and we will hopefully get a chance to stay there in the future.
Mr Jean-Jacques has created a one of a kind retreat that offers the best of both worlds. The chalet is a wonderful escape with its hand crafted wood work, sauna, and intricate details while it is close to downtown Asheville, Biltmore, and other attractions. My husband and I spent our 5th anniversary here and would have been happy enough just enjoying the chalet alone but Jean Jacques also provided us with 2 tickets of a 2 day pass to Biltmore. The chalet is a work of art that with the hand-formed "cob" walls in the sauna area and woodwork throughout the structure. Thank you Jean-Jacques for an unforgettable retreat.
Nos encanto desde el momento que llegamos hasta que nos fuimos.Esta casita en la montana es fabulosa,muy bien distribuida,el espacio es maximisado a su mas alto potencial,todo es nuevo,todo y de alta calidad, tiene lavadora y secadora nuevas modernas,desde los articulos electrodomesticos hasta los electronicos y la atencion al detalle esta presente en toda la residencia,extremadamente limpia,nos encanto tener cafe y te disponibles en cuanto llegamos hasta agua en el refrigerador,jabones todo!El dueno nos ayudo mucho y es muy amable,nos oriento incluso un tour a donde ir puesto que queriamos ver nieve,tambien tenia tickets al Biltmore muy conveniente. La proximidad a la ciudad es inmediata y al Biltmore muy cerca tambien en auto. El dueno nos dejo traer a Lucy nuestra cocker spaniel lo cual fue una de los detalles mas importantes para nosotros y nos regreso el deposito inmediatamente que le entregamos la llave. Regresariamos sin duda alguna! Somos una familia de 4 mas mi Lucy y la pasamos fenomenal, queremos regresar en primavera. La zona es muy calmada y segura el Supermercado Ingles a solo 3 minutos.Altamente recomendable!!!
We greatly enjoyed our stay. The chalet, although compact was well laid out for one couple to stay. It had upscale appliances and finishings. I was particularly fond of the craftsmanship and excellent woodworking. The chalet was clean and we were met by our host upon arrival. I'd highly recommend
