A modern masterpiece of glass and wood set in three acres of woodlands, with a stunning salt water pool and spa, designed by celebrated local architect Les Walker. The house is newly built with beautiful contemporary layout and fittings along with a stunning, in-ground pool and spa all set within a large blue stone and wood patio area. There’s a grill, table and chairs with sun loungers, outdoor fire pit and tree house for your use during the summer. Set in over three acres of secluded woods with stream great for paddling, exploring and fishing, The whole area is great for walking, running, cycling etc.
Beautifully designed interior with fireplace, sense of spaciousness, gorgeous open plan kitchen with all the latest mod-cons, high ceilings, under floor radiant heating throughout the house and modern furnishings. Living area includes stereo, TV, DVD player and PS3 (no cable TV). Main bedroom suite has king size bed, large walk in dressing room and full bathroom with deep luxurious bath and separate shower. Two further bedrooms, one with queen size bed and other with twin bunk beds and pull out trundle, both with built in wardrobes. Main bathroom with large bath and in bath shower.
Both Saugerties and Woodstock have great shops, restaurants, farmers and flea markets with a number of activities including Opus 40, Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary, Woodstock Film Festival in October and Saugerties Lighthouse.

This is our second summer vacation at this property. We enjoyed the serene setting, the beautiful pool, and the excellent condition of the house. The owners are responsive, professional, and easy to work with. Overall, we had a great time and will likely return again.
We had an incredible week at this house. The house is really beautiful (it's actually a place where I could live- not typical for places on VRBO) and the setting is fantastic. The owner is very easy to deal with. I can't wait to bring my family back again.
The property is private, quiet, spacious, and well maintained. We spent most of our afternoons in the pool. The owners were very welcoming and responsive to questions even though they were abroad at the time of our stay. We had a lot fun visiting Woodstock and other nearby towns. Overall, we had a great time and will consider staying at this property again.

1. The property is infested with mosquitoes. They die in large numbers in the pool. My son and I couldn’t play catch on the lawn without getting bitten up. Be prepared to slather yourself in bug spray.
2. Despite the private setting, you can still hear the neighbors. A party down the hill blared music from their speakers late into Saturday night.
3. The décor is suffocatingly urban hipster chic. If you’re into that, you’re in luck. I found it precious, cold and antiseptic.
The Truly Awful:
Shortly after we arrived for our week-long stay, we discovered a pair of iZon monitors - designed to connect remotely with an iPhone or iPad- inside the house. They were strategically positioned to take in the kitchen/living room and the stairwell leading up to the 2nd floor bedrooms. Never disclosed by the owners and not mentioned in our lease. They are noticeably absent from the listing photos.
We should have left immediately, but my wife got spooked and didn't want to make waves. Plus, I was afraid of losing our pre-paid rent and security deposit if we left. I blocked the monitors' view of the living space and we did our best to ignore them. But we remained very uneasy for the remainder of the week.
After we got home, I emailed the owners that we were deeply troubled by the presence of video monitors and wanted to understand their purpose. The owners sent a curt, unapologetic, and dismissive email reply. Monitors were present inside the house, they wrote, because the house was frequently unoccupied. And if I was so “deeply troubled” (they condescendingly put my phrase in quotations), I should have said something earlier.
Aside from their rudeness, it’s impossible to know whether the owners are only using the monitors when the house is unoccupied. The owners could easily be using the monitors to observe and record their renters. It's acceptable to put surveillance cameras outside a rental property to catch break-ins; it's outrageous to place them inside a rental property, where renters have a reasonable expectation of privacy. In fact, it’s illegal in many states.
Unless you are willing to blindly trust that the owners are not spying on and recording you, I would strongly advise you and any prospective renter to stay far away from this listing.
We loved the house! It was more than spacious enough for four adults and generally close to everything we wanted - HITS and restaurants. Would love to come back again and hope the pool will be open next time!
I am writing this review on behalf of my boss who stayed there with his family from June 7-June 10th. He was very impressed with the house and said in a nutshell - the place is OUTSTANDING! He was very happy with the layout and so was his wife. She said it was airy and the open layout was a major plus as they have 3 girls. They loved the house so much they asked me to book it two more times in July but unfortunately it is already booked! In any event, I had the pleasure of interacting with the owner and she is great. Very responsive and welcoming to her home. You can tell she loves that house and it shows by how well they take care of it. I would highly recommend this place :)
