U Street Corridor Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 1-4)

In the trendiest, artsy section of Washington DC, on the edge of Dupont Circle, U Street and 14th Street - all examples of Pierre L'Enfant's vision for the city, great avenues radiating off small parks like spokes on a wheel, we offer the best value in furnished apartments, truly a home away from home: just bring your clothes.

We offer this beautiful furnished apartment with availability throughout the year.

This is a one bedroom apartment with one bathroom on the first floor of historic Art Deco building. The apartment was gutted this year and has an architect designed gorgeous kitchen with Italian white glossy self closing cabinets, Viking range, Miele dishwasher and fully stocked with all pots, pans, knives and dishes to cook gourmet meals. The new luxury Carrara marble bath has a jacuzzi deep soaking tub and heated floor. There are beautiful new hardwood floors throughout. The apartment is only steps from world class restaurants, avant-garde theaters, trendy cafes and the best shopping this city has to offer. The apartment is decorated with passion and attention to detail: classic modern furniture, color coordinated organic sheets, rugs, cotton linens, kitchen and bath ware. There is original artwork on the walls. There is wifi and Direct TV with all movie channels.

The building features outdoor seating patio with a new stainless grill, washer and dryer (shared in the basement) and close proximity to Metro - only block and a half away.

Whole Foods and Yes Organic supermarket are just minutes away on foot.

Garage parking is available near our unit for $20 to $30 a day.

Street parking is by permit only between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. We can get visitor's parking pass for you from a local police station for $40 for the stay, and you can park, day and night, on the street. The parking pass is for zone 1, so any street marked zone 1 on the signs is fine (quite a large area). Please note that during the season the streets get cleaned -please read signs clearly and visibly posted on each street when you must move your car for street cleaning.

Hi, originally from Prague, Czech Republic, Washington DC has become my second home twelve years ago when I came to study at Georgetown University. I live in this wonderful city with my two boys Alexander and Christopher, only few blocks from the rental property. We spend every weekend at a museum (Air and Space is the favorite), hiking through Rock Creek Park or on a fifty year old carousel in front of the Smithsonian Gardens and we hope that all our guests enjoy this vibrant city as much as we do.

Eva purchased this apartment in 2009

As a single mom I need to provide for my two boys. I love to travel and so do my kids. Most of the time I travel out of DC and the situation helped me see that just as I love to leave the city and to explore other places, there are people who come to visit DC to spend time with their families. My two boys, my family, are the best critics of any place, as no furnishings are safe from their play and no vase is sacred to them. Our places are luxurious but ready to be used. I understand what most travelers need to feel comfortable since I have traveled extensively around the world to Africa, South and Central America, Asia and Europe . Please come and share your vacation time in our home. I promise that we will do our best to make you feel comfortable. This is the reason I bought my rental property.

From our apartment in the heart of Dupont Circle the access to all the tourist attractions, world famous restaurants, great bars and the biggest selection of privately owned galleries is just steps away. The metro stop is only a block and a half away, next to Starbucks. The 14 Street buses run directly downtown from our bus station at the end of the block; every two minutes during rush hour and every six minutes other times. The White house, The Mall and The Smithsonian Museums are less than a mile away; about fifteen minute walk or few metro stops.

LOVELY STAY IN HOME AWAY FROM HOME!

  • 5 of 5
We just got home from our stay in this VERY conveniently located vacation rental in DC and I couldn't have been happier with our accomodations! We are a family of 4, with two teenage boys. A little tight for 4 people, but defintely more room than a hotel! The neighborhood is full of cafes and restaurants. Whole Foods is about 6 blocks away, but there is also a Trader Joe's that has opened, right around the corner from this rental. There is a bus stop at the end of the street, just a few steps away and a train station about 2 1/2 blocks away. I was happy to see that Ben's Chili Bowl is located across the street from this U street Metro Station. Be sure to have a meal there when you are in DC! We parked our car for the week and only had to move it on street cleaning day. The bed is so comfortable that my husband is ready to buy a new matresss just like it for our home. Another trip to DC will be necessary in the future as there is so much to see and do. I will rent from Eva again and recommend any of her properties to my friends.

GREAT BASE FOR COUPLE

  • 4 of 5
This apartment was perfect as a home base for a couple in their 50's. 3 blocks from the Metro made a car unnecessary, and the local neighborhood was full of great cafes, shops, restaurants that we could walk to. The apartment was very much as advertised and was very comfortable and functional for a couple, and the owner was very helpful.

NICE APPARTMENT

  • 4 of 5
the apartment is small but well equipped and comfortable, very clean as well. Located perfectly in the area with lots of restaurants and very lively at night time. You can walk to major attractions, but at least 30 minutes, cab is cheap in DC.There is a metro stop close by. Trader's Joe is just around the corner and you can buy groceries. Eva was always available if you had questions. We would stay there again.

COMFY U STREET FLAT - WASHINGTON DC

  • 3 of 5
Very nice flat in up and coming DC neighborhood.
5 min walk to u street metro.
Great restaurants within two blocks
Trader joes less than a block away.
Flat was good sized and well kept. Bit of noise from unit above (small child there). Couch in living room is biggest drawback, although a fold out it was terribly uncomfortable... Too bad. Unit did not have deadbolt either. Otherwise, felt very safe and secure.
DuPont circle a reasonable walk.
Overall, I recommend for an extended stay. Owner delivered on all promises.

GOOD DC EXPERIENCE

  • 5 of 5
Apartment was comfortable, well-appointed and extremely well-located. Great neighborhood for eating, sight-seeing, shopping, getting around DC. Eva, the owner/manager is very attentive and responsive. We stayed in 1st floor apt., which was fine, but I might opt for top-floor apt. in this building next time, if choice is available.

WONDERFUL OWNER, NICE APARTMENT, MY FIRST TIME VRBO EXPERIENCE

  • 5 of 5
This is my first VRBO experience. Overall things were great. Eva is very nice, responds in a timely manner, and very helpful regarding information. The place was exceptionally clean and beautiful! The bed was so comfortable, and the apt small but tidy. The nearby area is in transition and has a lot of construction going on now, although the apt was still very quiet...the area is going to look great when it's done. It's in the jazz club U-Street neighborhood so nighttime is hopping. The metro is amazing in DC and just two blocks away from the apt, the U Street Metro, which is extremely central and connects to all the lines. Also, the CitiBike stations are plentiful and very nearby. Using the Uber app to get quickly/cheaply back to Reagan Nat'l Airport was very useful. As a first time VRBO user, it might be helpful for people to ask a few questions in advance. For instance, I didn't realize there was a high/low season pricing and the site just lists the low price; it would be nice if there was a way to keep pricing current; I did pay a bit more than what was listed. I also didn't realize I'd need to pay in advance for the full amount of the room, and it made me a bit nervous as a first-timer. Everything was fine, I just would prefer to pay at the end (or have a deposit applied). Also, check-out at 10am is a bit early, noon would be better. That being said, my husband and I would definitely return to this apt and we appreciate Eva's care with regard to communication and comfort with our stay. (Last day she let me keep my bags in the hall at 10am checkout so I could sightsee, come pick the bags back up, and leave at 5pm...that was very nice of her). Some other thoughts: go to the new Ted's Bulletin for breakfast, it's incredible (this newest location is within a few blocks of the apt). Get a SmartCard for the Metro. Rent a CitiBike but realize you must dock it within every half hour or there's an additional fee (still worth it though!). Go to the rooftop bar at the top of the "W" Hotel (by the White House and Willard Hotel) the view is awesome and food/drinks very good. Don't miss the Holocaust Museum, it's architecture is chillingly symbolic and the room with the victims' shoes reminds us all that everything we do matters, and doing nothing allows awful things to occur. As a teacher I was so thankful the museums were free, truly educational, and the city incredibly vibrant and gorgeous. Thanks Eva for an economical and beautiful place to stay. We'll be back!
