In the trendiest, artsy section of Washington DC, on the edge of Dupont Circle, U Street and 14th Street - all examples of Pierre L'Enfant's vision for the city, great avenues radiating off small parks like spokes on a wheel, we offer the best value in furnished apartments, truly a home away from home: just bring your clothes.
We offer this beautiful furnished apartment with availability throughout the year.
This is a one bedroom apartment with one bathroom on the first floor of historic Art Deco building. The apartment was gutted this year and has an architect designed gorgeous kitchen with Italian white glossy self closing cabinets, Viking range, Miele dishwasher and fully stocked with all pots, pans, knives and dishes to cook gourmet meals. The new luxury Carrara marble bath has a jacuzzi deep soaking tub and heated floor. There are beautiful new hardwood floors throughout. The apartment is only steps from world class restaurants, avant-garde theaters, trendy cafes and the best shopping this city has to offer. The apartment is decorated with passion and attention to detail: classic modern furniture, color coordinated organic sheets, rugs, cotton linens, kitchen and bath ware. There is original artwork on the walls. There is wifi and Direct TV with all movie channels.
The building features outdoor seating patio with a new stainless grill, washer and dryer (shared in the basement) and close proximity to Metro - only block and a half away.
Whole Foods and Yes Organic supermarket are just minutes away on foot.
Garage parking is available near our unit for $20 to $30 a day.
Street parking is by permit only between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. We can get visitor's parking pass for you from a local police station for $40 for the stay, and you can park, day and night, on the street. The parking pass is for zone 1, so any street marked zone 1 on the signs is fine (quite a large area). Please note that during the season the streets get cleaned -please read signs clearly and visibly posted on each street when you must move your car for street cleaning.

Hi, originally from Prague, Czech Republic, Washington DC has become my second home twelve years ago when I came to study at Georgetown University. I live in this wonderful city with my two boys Alexander and Christopher, only few blocks from the rental property. We spend every weekend at a museum (Air and Space is the favorite), hiking through Rock Creek Park or on a fifty year old carousel in front of the Smithsonian Gardens and we hope that all our guests enjoy this vibrant city as much as we do.
Eva purchased this apartment in 2009
As a single mom I need to provide for my two boys. I love to travel and so do my kids. Most of the time I travel out of DC and the situation helped me see that just as I love to leave the city and to explore other places, there are people who come to visit DC to spend time with their families. My two boys, my family, are the best critics of any place, as no furnishings are safe from their play and no vase is sacred to them. Our places are luxurious but ready to be used. I understand what most travelers need to feel comfortable since I have traveled extensively around the world to Africa, South and Central America, Asia and Europe . Please come and share your vacation time in our home. I promise that we will do our best to make you feel comfortable. This is the reason I bought my rental property.
From our apartment in the heart of Dupont Circle the access to all the tourist attractions, world famous restaurants, great bars and the biggest selection of privately owned galleries is just steps away. The metro stop is only a block and a half away, next to Starbucks. The 14 Street buses run directly downtown from our bus station at the end of the block; every two minutes during rush hour and every six minutes other times. The White house, The Mall and The Smithsonian Museums are less than a mile away; about fifteen minute walk or few metro stops.
This was a perfect location for us. We were just 3 blocks from my daughter, and everywhere we wanted to be was within walking distance or accessible by the metro which was nearby. We love staying in an apartment rather than a hotel room, and like being within a neighborhood where you can get a better feel for a place rather than sterile and removed. It was nicely furnished and comfortable.
Clean and well located near stores, restaurants and transportation. If you are planning on cooking could use a few more amenities. Could not access laundry area. Be prepared check out 10 am sharp no exceptions.
Great apartment. Size is good for two to three people. Lovely kitchen with high end appliances and some cookware. No dishwasher soap so bring your own. Quiet apartment in the back. Updated bathroom which was clean and nice looking. Nice size bedroom with queen size bed and good quality bed linen. It's a little dark but did not spend much time in the apartment. Great location by the metro, shops and trader joes. Highly recommend staying here.
Myself, my husband, and our 13 month old daughter stayed in Eva's VRBO for 5 days. Being west coasters it felt pretty small, but it worked. Eva was kind enough to provide a pack n' play for our daughter to sleep in. She also let us borrow her parking pass until she could get one from the police station for us. If you rent a car like we did please make sure you are VERY clear on the street parking limitations. We got two tickets (in the same day). One was for street cleaning and the other was because we had unknowingly parked in the restaurant vs residential spaces. We took the bus to and from National Mall every day because there is a stop right around the corner (Bus 52). Having Trader Joes also right around the corner was SO convenient - especially with our little one needing various things. The neighborhood is very young and lively, there is a lovely little Bakehouse/coffee a couple doors down that I frequented. Overall, it worked well for us. If you can avoid renting a car I would highly recommend it. The only reason we did was because we have to drive from BWI to the rental and then out to a rehearsal and wedding venue that was sort of far and we wanted our daughter in a car seat.
We just got home from our stay in this VERY conveniently located vacation rental in DC and I couldn't have been happier with our accomodations! We are a family of 4, with two teenage boys. A little tight for 4 people, but defintely more room than a hotel! The neighborhood is full of cafes and restaurants. Whole Foods is about 6 blocks away, but there is also a Trader Joe's that has opened, right around the corner from this rental. There is a bus stop at the end of the street, just a few steps away and a train station about 2 1/2 blocks away. I was happy to see that Ben's Chili Bowl is located across the street from this U street Metro Station. Be sure to have a meal there when you are in DC! We parked our car for the week and only had to move it on street cleaning day. The bed is so comfortable that my husband is ready to buy a new matresss just like it for our home. Another trip to DC will be necessary in the future as there is so much to see and do. I will rent from Eva again and recommend any of her properties to my friends.
This apartment was perfect as a home base for a couple in their 50's. 3 blocks from the Metro made a car unnecessary, and the local neighborhood was full of great cafes, shops, restaurants that we could walk to. The apartment was very much as advertised and was very comfortable and functional for a couple, and the owner was very helpful.
