This is a beautiful Spanish style home on a clean swimming canal 9 miles from Duval Street, Key West. Our home is just 4 houses from the end of the canal and the backwaters of the Gulf. Many uninhabited islands are nearby for exploring and discovering. Fishing and Lobstering are excellent as most tourists don't find this area. In the crystal clean canal you can pick out which snapper you want to catch without leaving the back yard. Located on a quiet street, this home is close enough to town for fun, but far enough for peace and quiet. The completely fenced home includes two entry gates and water fountain in the front. Bring your boat, or rent a boat and keep in the canal behind the house. Boat ramps are 1 mile away. Large circular driveway will accept numerous cars and/or boats and trailers. Our home is clean and neat with tile floors in living areas, new wood floors in the bedrooms, newer appliances, central A/C, cable TV, wireless internet,washer/dryer and fully equipped kitchen.

To really enjoy The Keys you should have a boat of some kind, even if it's a Kayak. Boats can be rented nearby. There are many uninhabited islands with beautiful beaches. Fishing and lobstering is fantastic, as well as snorkeling or diving. Find the nearby 'submarine pits' for water skiing, fishing, or swinging from the rope in the tree. Occasionally the 'Top Gun' Naval Aviators fly in and out of the nearby Navy Base, so you may get to see a free airshow from the yard. The canal is great for floating on a raft, swimming and fishing. Forget about finding a place to park your car in Key West, or driving back after a few Margaritas. Take your boat to Schooner Wharf or Mallory Square and come back to your backyard when you want. Notes: The house is my second home and is fully accommodated with plenty of towels, linens, kitchen utensils, etc. There are even spices in the cupboards and laundry detergent in the laundry room. Just bring your toothbrush and buy some groceries. The gas grill has a spare LP tank if you need to buy LP. Cable T.V and wireless internet are supplied. There is no phone, as most people bring their cell phones.

If you enjoy crystal clear water, boating,diving and just want piece and quiet this is the place! Five miles to Key West and you can stay in a nice clean house rather than a motel.
The owner was very helpful to make sure everything was taken care of prior to our stay on the 1st of September.
I plan on booking this house on our next trip to the Keys.

This was a great rental. Dealing with the owner made the rental very simple and pleasant. He did everything he could to make sure our stay was memorable. Deep canal in the back, small bridge with narrow channel was the only downstroke for us with a boat with a t-top. The bridge had plenty of clearance at low tide. Landmarks on the island made returning to the house very easy to find and navigate. Everything in the house was well kept and the house was very liveable and clean. Eight minutes to Key West, thats a wonderful thing! Highly recommended and I would stay there again without hesitation.

I spent a week in February at this property. The proximity to Key West was nice, and being slightly east of Key West day trips to Bahia Honda State Park were reasonable. It is a nice neighborhood. The house is well represented by the pictures in the listing. The house is in very good shape. The beds/mattresses are newer and in very good condition. The house is well equipped for the renter.

My biggest like about the house was the location, close enough to Key West to drive into town anytime, without having to stay in Key West. We have young children and the house worked out perfect.
