There is no place better for enriching your soul than Harbor Island, S.C., with its sights and sounds of the ocean, marshes, wetlands, and Harbor River. All of these ecological marvels, and their varied inhabitants of the shelled, finned, feathered, and scaled variety, are within sight or walking or paddling distance of your oceanfront villa. Enjoy the view of the dunes and ocean as soon as you walk through the door of this condominium---full ocean views are yours from the living, dining room, kitchen and back deck.

This nicely furnished one bedroom ocean front villa offers direct ocean views from the kitchen, living/dining areas, and the deck. Step right off the back deck onto the boardwalk to the beach. And, if you must do work, the availability of WIFI allows you to do it while enjoying the ocean view.

And at night, snuggle into the brand new king bed (7/2011). In addition to the king sized bed, the bedroom offers a private bath, cable TV, and a DVD player.

On Harbor Island, fun comes naturally. Spend the day relaxing on the beach, watching the dolphins playing offshore. Try your hand at catching tasty blue crabs in the tidal creeks or tossing a net to bring home succulent shrimp. Prefer going out for dinner? The Shrimp Shack and Johnson's Creek Tavern are casual local eateries just outside our gates, and many fabulous restaurants can be found in nearby Ladys Island, Port Royal, and Beaufort, just a 20-30 minutes drive. Harbor Island is conveniently located just 14 miles from beautiful historic Beaufort, a little over an hour from Hilton Head and Savannah and just a couple of hours to historic Charleston.

Regardless of where you spend the day, you are sure to find waterfront dining, unique shopping, and wonderful tours. Take the family on a horse drawn carriage ride through out the downtown area and learn about Beaufort's rich history. Peruse the antique shops and art galleries to find that perfect vacation memento.

At Harbor Island, the awe-inspiring joys of nature abound. There are two-and-one-half miles of uncrowded, unspoiled beach. Dolphins swim so close to the shore, you can almost make eye contact with them. If you are lucky, you can spot loggerhead turtles during their nesting season (May to Aug.). The island also is full of egrets, herons, and other birds, who are careful to stay out of reach of the resident gators. Ibis and large wood storks often can be seen feeding in the marshes. The pool at the Beach & Racquet Club abuts the marsh, so you can have a view of nature while you sunbathe or keep one eye on your kids in the pool or adjacent playground. Sunset views over the Harbor River from the Beach & Racquet club pool are simply spectacular. Nearby historic Beaufort abounds with sightseeing opportunities including horse & buggy rides through the historic district, an enormous water front park on the Intracoastal Waterway, and numerous shops and restaurants.

Rental includes access to two condominium complex pools and the Harbor Island Beach & Racquet Club. The Beach & & Racquet Club offers an olympic sized pool overlooking the marshes of the Harbor River, a separate kiddie pool, playground, fitness center with weight room and cardio rooms, tennis court, half court basketball court, and a small sundries shop. Starter supplies (1-3 nights) of the following are provided: bath soap, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, trash bags. We recommend you stop en route for groceries and supplies. Although there is a small sundries shop at the Harbor Island Beach & Racquet Club and a small convience store about a mile away, the nearest grocery store is on Lady's Island, about 20 minutes from Harbor Island. You will pass a Publix and a Food Lion on your way to the Island.
