June 20-24, 2008 Family Getaway
Review Submitted: July 22, 2008
Date of Stay: June 2008
This home in Sawyer, Michigan is wonderful. It's setting is in a heavily wooded neighborhood about 10 minutes from downtown Sawyer. The house is lovely. We had 6 people staying (parents, grandparent and 3 teenagers). We were never bored. We rode our bikes to the Dunes and hiked the dunes one day, went to Lake Michigan in Warren Dunes another day, went to the corner market on our bikes for fresh produce daily, ate pizza at Capozzio's restaurant one night-fantastic!, played board games when it rained, etc. Lake Michigan is very cold in June, but the weather was still warm enought to get in knee deep--deeper if you're younger! Maggie is very sweet and even called the house to check on us. We loved the area and plant to return next summer. It costs $8 a day to go to the area parks, so it pays to plan an entire day there or to bike or hike in--that's free! It takes about 20-30 min. towalk from the house to the lake, but you can be inside the Warren Dunes park in about 10 inutes by bike, with an additional 10 minutes to actually see the lake. I would recomment this house for almost everyone. Grandma is 75 and has problems with stairs and all of the bedrooms are upstairs, but she managed. We all enjoyed the screened in porch, built a fire in the fire pit outside and make s'mores and BBQ'd two nights in the smokey joe out back. I can't say enough about the house, the owner, the town and the area. Definitely a place to return to.
Owner's Response: We appreciate the great review. It is a lovely area and we have had lots of great times at Linden House.
Thanks,
Maggie & Tom
