Amongst the historic and grand buildings lining the beautiful High Street with its captain's mansions and numerous inns, a modest 1820's Cape, formerly the residence of the caretakers at Mountain Arrow - a large summer cottage for the Seaverns family, has been transformed into a modern house for the 21st century, yet with stringent attention to its 1800 origins

The present owners, being from over seas, wanted to create a unique modern New England feel, blending traditions from the area with European influences. Not to create grandeur, neither opulence, rather simplicity, but with the highest attention to detail and quality. The owner's purchased a cottage and strived to maintain a cottage feel. The plastered walls with its traditional hand made ruggedness is equal to that of the original house, the wide pine flooring, some older than 200 years old, the handmade red birch wood kitchen cabinets are all details in keeping with the original house in mind.
