The area is truly a four season delight! In the summer, many vacationers visit the Lake Region to fish, boat, sightsee, kayak, canoe, and just relax on one of the many bodies of water. In the fall, the region is known for wonderful fall foliage. Hunters visit to hunt for various game such as deer and turkey. In the winter, vacationers come for the snow for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and downhill skiing. The Crooked River provides you boat access to Sebago Lake, Brandy Pond and Long Lake. The cottage is approximately a 2 hour drive from Boston. The cottage is a 30 minute drive to Pleasant Mountain, 45 minute drive to the ocean and an hour drive to Sunday River Mountain. During all seasons, anglers of all ages fish for landlocked salmon, bass, lake trout, and brook trout. A unique feature of the area is the Songo Locks, one of the last remaining functioning locks to connect two bodies of water. If the week you want is unavailable, please inquire about the sister property.

QUIET True Maine Place!

I have stayed here several times and truly enjoy the cabin. It is very well made up and has a wonderful screeened porch to enjoy the cool night air without the bugs. Kyle is a great host and very friendly. They are pet friendly and my pet loved it here. The cabin has everything you need, just bring sheets and your clothing and food. I would definately come back!

Pleased to get more than we expected.

Review Submitted: August 18, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
What made this a wonderful vacation is all the unexpected extras. We were able to launch our boat two doors down, (would not recommend this for a large boat), great walks to the locks, dog friendly, canoe, passes to the state park which is 2 miles away, trash pick up midweek, comfortable, clean, well equipt cottage.
The lot is very large and neighbors are not as close as lake front properties.
The state park has beautiful beaches, and a boat launch. Check out Cub Cove to get away from the crowds. Hiking at Douglas Mt. was great for our 11 and 13 year olds.
A great Sebago area location, we would recommend it to friends.

Excellent value

Review Submitted: August 9, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin and it was just as it appeared to be on the website. Kyle was very prompt in responding to our e-mails and he provided a lot of information about the area. The river that is next to the cabin is good for canoeing. We found it a bit chilly for swimming this year, but the free state park passes were a great bonus to get a nice swim in Lake Sebago. We enjoyed the Naples area for the variety of things to do including the boat tour of Long Lake, hiking, swimming at the park, shopping and a day trip to Portland. There were many restaurants (Freedom Cafe and Sydney's) and things to do nearby and yet the cabin is very quiet since it is located off the main road. We even enjoyed daily walks on the road without much traffic to disturb us. It was truly a nice vacation spot and good value. We would definitely recommend it.

Authentic Maine Countryside getaway

BillK Littleton, Ma, USA
Review Submitted: March 11, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2008
If you want a quiet, get away from the modern world in a authentic Maine country cottage setting, this cottage is for you! The biggest charm of this cottage is the rustic country finish and furnishings dating from 1920s - 1960s that will definately take you back in time. The wood/coal stove will keep your warm at nights. The Crooked River riverside access will bring you to a wonderful wilderness experience to beautiful sebago lake. Authentic Maine seafood restaurants are only 3 miles away, along with a full sized supermarket so you can cook your own meals in the 1960s Style cottage kitchen.

This place is a must for a quiet wilderness getaway for the family or a couple looking for a quiet countryside romantic setting.

The owner is friendly and prompt for appointments and has lived in the area all his life, so he knows where to go to spend your vacation time in this fun spot. He keeps the cottage in very clean condition, and has maintained this antique cottege and its furnishings in prestine condition considering its age.

Great Place to Stay

Brett and Laura Reading, PA
Review Submitted: March 7, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
We have stayed at this cottage every year for the last 10 years and would not trade it for anything. It is an awesome value. It is close to everything, yet out of the hustle and bustle of Naples. The owners do a great job on the upkeep and everything is so clean it makes the stay enjoyable. We love it for the proximity to the water (which is only steps away). We have spent many nights by the campfire and many days watching the wildlife on the water. I would recommend this place to anyone.

And... the lobsters are to die for.
