McGilvery House is a classic sea captain's mansion, set off of Route 1 north of Belfast in the small town of Searsport. McGilvery is an impeccable Gothic Italianate Mansard mansion surrounded by lovely mantained grounds. Views of Penobscot Bay from the second and third floor windows. Mature gardens throughout the property. A one block walk to to public access to the water. McGilvery has high ceilings, large windows, hardwood floors, and ornate trim.
Enter through the side porch into a large, lovely eat in kitchen. A half bath is located off of the kitchen. Past the kitchen is a formal dining room and beyond towards the front of the house is a parlor. A traditional front hallway leads into a formal double parlor with a fireplace (nonworking). There is also a game/entertainment room on the first floor. From the front hallway climb the majestic stairway to the second floor.
There are four bedrooms on the second floor, each carefully appointed and with queen size beds. There are four bathrooms on the second floor, all with either a shower or bathtub.
On the third floor there are two additional bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the second has a double size bed. There is one 3/4 bathroom on the third floor.
