|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
This large 5 bedroom country home is situated right on the Stillwater River in the Flathead Valley and is accessed through its own private gate. The property has over 2,000 feet of river frontage on 8 acres and is located at the very end of a private dirt road. The Stillwater River wraps around this piece and creates a very unique peninsula which offers a private and peaceful setting. The property has plenty of trees, meadows and fenced pasture for horses, along with the river winding through on 3 sides. The Stillwater River is a slow moving river, very peaceful and is an attraction to a lot of wildlife in the area.
The deck encompasses quite a view of the river! The river creates a special mood on the property, it has a calming effect on one's soul. It speaks of nature, the simple joys of life and a constant reminder of what is real in life. I will also be leaving a few horses out in the pastures to graze and I have to say, I never get tired of watching them. The horses, the river, the setting it all creates is just plain nice.
The double doors from the living area of the house lead right out on to the deck which offers comfortable seating arrangements. The kitchen offers all stainless steel appliances along with granite counter tops, a 5 burner gas stove and a built in deep fryer for the cooking enthusiasts. It also has a detached coffee bar with a commercial Bunn coffeemaker and an additional sink. The dining table can seat 10 comfortably with 2 additional chairs for 12. There are also 2 log stools for additional seating at the breakfast bar.
The 5 bedrooms offer Montana made rustic log beds and consist of:
1 King bedroom/main level with attached full bath
1 King bedroom/upstairs with attached full bath
1 King bedroom upstairs w/ full bath adjacent
1 Queen bedroom upstairs w/ full bath adjacent
1 Queen bedroom/downstairs with 3/4 bath adjacent
There is also a queen hide-a-bed in the TV room and a
single twin mattress that can be pulled out for use.
Pac-n-plays are available.
The TV room offers a 60” TV, DVD player, Dish satellite channels and Netflix. There is a large laundry room for your use with all supplies provided, ample room for parking and a large circular driveway for any trailers or motor homes that come through. This would make a very nice location for a family gathering. I also manage my brother's vacation home, vrbo # 352040, which is 2 minutes away and when you combine the two homes, it is a great place for a family gathering, sleeping a combination of 20+ people.
We are located about 20 minutes from Glacier International Airport and right between Kalispell and Whitefish, 12 miles in either direction. Big Mountain is just 10 minutes outside of Whitefish and offers many hiking/nature trails. Glacier National Park (west entrance) is approx. 34 miles from here.
We are quite conveniently located, right in the center of the Valley, here in the rural Whitefish area.

Dan and Jen O'Neill - Owners and Managers. We have lived out in the country for over 20 years, we are in our fifties now. Danny is originally from Ireland and
myself, Seattle, WA. We both love the outdoor life. I enjoy horseback riding on the country trails and Danny is an avid fisherman. We have lived in the Flathead
Valley for 11 years now. We are offering this vacation rental with the hopes that you can and will make yourselves at home here while you experience the
beautiful Flathead Valley in Montana.
Jennie O'Neill purchased this house in 2004
We purchased this property for it was one of the most unique settings we found in the Flathead Valley being that the Stillwater River has such a special influence as it winds around the property. We are private but still very conveniently located; 10-15 minutes from town.
Enjoying the river, wildlife/bird viewing, the horses grazing and just the perfect amount of privacy down our little dirt road. There is no traffic here at the end of our road and no immediate
neighbors to disturb. But yet, town is only 10-15 minutes away.
My husband and I are just beginning our vacation rental business. We have no prior guests yet to offer reviews. I would personally like to share that we will strive to give you the best customer service we can, accommodate your needs as much as possible, and have a very clean, user friendly home to provide for your vacation stay.
We had the most wonderful stay! We were 4 adults and 5 kids and this was the perfect house for us. From the very beginning (booking), Jennie was incredibly helpful, always available for questions and info. This house had everything extra one would need on their trip. We stayed for 5 nights and wish we could have stayed longer, from the moment we got there it felt just like home. Upon our arrival, the fireplace was going, there was tunes on the radio, it was so welcoming. The kids loved the horses and exploring the area. We spent 2 days skiing, went on a dogsled adventure (which I would highly recommend, once in a lifetime experience), and toured around Whitefish/Kalispell. I would highly recommend staying here on your vacation, you will not be disappointed. See you soon!!
I literally cannot say enough about this property and its owner!
From the initial booking stage Jennie made the process so easy and gave us lots of information before we even arrived.
We travelled from Ireland with my parents and had such a fabulous and relaxing stay that none of us wanted to leave!
I have stayed in many vacation rentals but without doubt this was the best.....everything you could possibly need is there at hand, the beds are super comfy and there is an all round feeling of calm and wellbeing around the whole place, inside and out.
Jennie is a such a lovely person and all of us were glad to have met her and enjoy a chat with her!
I could go on forever but all you really need to know is YOU MUST STAY HERE!!!!
We stayed for a week during the last part of August to celebrate our parents 60th anniversary and family reunion. Jennie was an awesome host and the lodge was spectacular. My parents loved the relaxing nature of the area and the lodge is very central to whitefish, flathead lake, glacier, and all the other attractions the area offers. Jennie has the place stocked with all the basics you will need and the house is perfect for large gatherings. We would recommend this property for reunions or any large gatherings. The kitchen is outfitted to handle multiple people and large parties. Overall one of the best family vacations we have ever been on.
We stayed at Stillwater for 3 nights and 4 days. It was fabulous. The listing was exactly what it was but until you see the views you don't really know how beautiful it is. The house was very clean and was the best equipped kitchen we have ever had. The bedding on the beds was fantastic. It is very close to golf, Whitefish and all the great shopping and great food. I would rate this a 12 out of 10.
My husband, two daughters, sons-in-laws and four grandsons (ages 70-2), had the most wonderful time. At the O'Neil's property. Everything you would need or want was supplied in the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, recreation, comfort and more. Convenience to everything, Big Mt., Lakes with beaches, Glacier National Park, White warer rafting, restaurants. Jennie's description spot on and much much more.
Six of us stayed at Jennie's beautiful home on the Stillwater River near Whitefish and Kalispell. It was wonderful. The house is very comfortable and well arranged to bring people together, yet everyone had their own bedroom. The kitchen was the best equipped of any home where we have stayed through VRBO, and we have stayed at many. We felt at home, and Jennie was a very welcoming host! We would highly recommend this home. It's only about an hour's drive to West Glacier. However, it's enough just to stay at home and relax at this beautiful home or walk the adjacent beautiful countryside! And there's a creamery with fresh milk and eggs within 1.5 miles! Wonderful! Thanks Jennie!
