I worked in the hotel industry for many years here in the Berkshires, I learned from my experience what guests wish for and expect while away from home, I always dreamed of owning a vacation home in which I could meet the guests expectations. I as the homeowner care for the interior solely in this home, I take great pride in the cleaniness and decor of this beautiful house.

GREAT RENTAL FOR ADAMS/CHESHIRE AREA

  • 5 of 5
With hotel options few and far between in the N. Berkshires, this property is a true bargain and gem. House is as advertised, very comfortable and very well maintained. The local owner is friendly and responsive but not invasive. If you are attending business meetings in the area or visiting family, use this place. Much better than any of the area B & Bs. A few minor hints (not complaints) to enjoy it: the main loft bedroom gets early light due to skylight and no curtains so consider eyemasks and ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The other two bedrooms are like caves so put light sleepers there. Oddly, Adams and Cheshire still don't have any decent breakfast places so stock up on your way in- the open kitchen and deck are great for coffee and sitting. Otherwise, the Lanesboro market and Bob's Country Kitchen are your best bets unless you go 20 min into Pittsfield. Red Carpet, Big Y and DD next choices in Adams. Never had a decent meal at the places in Cheshire and the liquor store is like a flashback to a Simpsons episode. The Forge in Lanesboro closest lunch/dinner spot but consider off hours cuz can get packed. The rail trail runs along the other side of the lake to the south and towards Adams along a stunning river corridor once you get past the center of Cheshire, but you will need to watch kids/carefully navigate 1/4 mi each of Lanesboro rd and Rt 8 without sidewalks to get there. We look forward to staying here again.

THE BEST IN THE BERKSHIRES

  • 5 of 5
First I must say how accommodating Kate (the owner) was from the beginning to the end of our stay. Communication with Kate was excellent as she always got back to me in a timely fashion. The house was clean and very well equipped, and we were more than comfortable. We stayed at the house during a snow storm, and first thing in the morning the long 500' driveway was plowed in time for us to head to the slopes. We brought our 2 dogs and 2 kids, and all had a blast sledding and hiking around the property. I can't recommend this listing enough. Look forward to staying again.

BERKSHIRE GEM

  • 5 of 5
We spent a very relaxing weekend at this lovely house. The owner, Kate, was very pleasant and responsive both before and during our stay. The house was very clean and bright, and we all appreciated that linens and other basics like toilet paper were provided. The house is set far enough off the road that you have a good amount of privacy, though you are not in a remote location. Because it is very close to a main route, it is an easy drive to several towns with plenty of hiking, restaurants, and museums. During our stay, we hiking and also visited several museums and a winery. There are some great restaurants in the area - our favorite dinner was at Hops and Vines in Williamstown, about 25-30 minutes away. The yard was perfect for our dog, who needs a lot of space to play frisbee and ball (though if your dog has a tendency to run for the hills, note the yard is not fenced). We really had a wonderful experience and would recommend this rental property to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing place to stay in the Berkshires.

We spent a long weekend with our two kids (6 and 3) in this absolutely fabulous house with its panoramic views, loads of very nice 'americana', pleasant feel and great location. Absolutely recommended.

GREAT TIME

  • 5 of 5
Just returned from holiday and can't praise the property highly enough. Its in a fantastic location and you fall in love with it from the moment you first see it (its set back from the road and very private). It is fantastically furnished and the layout means our teenagers could easily find space for themselves.
Our questions were speedily answered - all in all a place we'd happily return to.
