Fall in love with summer in South Haven at this great house with a great location. Walk past three houses and look out over the lake and the lighthouse. This home was remodeled and redecorated for the 2007 summer season. Enjoy fresh paint, new linens and an all new bathroom. Floor Plan Overview: This two story home offers a comfortable home base for the ultimate family beach vacation. This first floor consists of one large family room with convertible sleeping, one full bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry facilities and a sun porch. The second floor has two bedrooms and one bathroom. Sleeping Arrangements: Each bedroom is comfortably furnished and has all new bedding. The upstairs master bedroom has a queen size bed and enough room for a crib if desired. The second upstairs bedroom has two full size beds and a view of the lake. The downstairs family room has a sleeper sofa for two. This room has a door and can be closed off for privacy.

It is also walking distance to the downtown shops and restaurants. South Haven located in southwest Michigan on beautiful Lake Michigan. It is just 2 hours from Chicago and 3 hours from Detroit. We are centrally located to Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. We are just a short drive from other coastal communities such as Saugatuck, Holland, & St. Jospeh. The perfect location for your summer vacation with family and friends.

Additional information about rental rates

  • From $1300/Week
  • This home is available all year. We require a 50% deposit within 10 days of reserving the home to hold the date. The remaining 50% and the $250 refundable security deposit is due 60 days prior to arrival. If a reservation is made less than 60 days prior to arrival, payment is due in full. The security deposit will be returned within 30 days of departure.

    Should a cancellation be necessary, we charge a $50 flat fee. If the home can be re-booked, all funds will be returned less the $50 cancellation fee. If the cottage cannot be re-booked, all funds paid will be forfeited less the security deposit.

    Check-Out: Saturday prior to 10:00 a.m. Eastern

Notes: While this home does not have central air conditioning, there are window units upstairs and down. However, you will want to open the windows and enjoy the summer breeze off of the lake and listen to the waves.

The Bathrooms: The upstairs bathroom has a bathtub for the children. The downstairs bathroom has a bathtub and shower combination. Each bathroom is stocked with clean towels, bathroom tissue, hand soap and shower gel. The Kitchen and Dining Area: The kitchen includes an electric stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. We also provide a coffee maker, blender, and toaster. The kitchen is stocked with everyday china, silverware, cookware, and utensils. Paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, garbage bags and hand soap are all replenished weekly. The dining room has a rectangular table that seats up to 8 people. The Living Room: The living room has a a television with a DVD player and a stereo. There is a small sun room off of the living room. The Outside: The outdoors provides a large deck and nice yard for relaxing. There is a table with chairs and a gas grill for your use.

The driveway is long enough to fit 2-3 cars and an additional car in the garage. Parking on the street is also allowed. This home offers all of the comforts of your home. We provide bath towels and linens fresh each week and the entire house is professionally cleaned prior to your arrival. We do ask that you bring your own beach towels and beach chairs. The home is heated and has window air conditioners on each floor. Being so close to the lake, this home stays naturally comfortable. We provide basic cable television. There is a washer and dryer on the main floor.

Golf: There are a number of golf courses within 15 minutes of this location.

We really enjoyed our week here - it was our first time in South Haven. This house is very clean, well equipped and perfectly located. Its a very short walk to the excellent beach and the pier/lighthouse, and a nice walk or bike ride into town. There's a great park for smaller children just around the corner. We came up over Labor Day weekend and stayed through the following Saturday. Lake Michigan was pretty cold that week, but very calm. The sunsets were gorgeous every night, viewable literally from the end of the driveway, but better from the bluff overlooking the beach. We had a great time and plan on coming back!

Sunset View Cottage is a sweet retreat!

This cottage was clean and the location was perfect. The house is charming and has a nice well equipped back yard with picnic table, lawn chairs and a nice deck. There is even a one car garage to park your car. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen was small but clean and well stocked with supplies. I hope to go back next year!
