Out and around Nauvoo:
You are less than a mile from the Nauvoo LDS Temple where you can enjoy the incredible sunsets over the Mississippi River. The Family Search Center is directly north across the street from the Temple. A great place to learn about your family tree, learn about those who have lived in Nauvoo or do some serious research with great helpers to assist you.
Be sure to visit the Historic Village, with free tours, wagon rides & entertainment. All the info needed is at the Historic Nauvoo Visitors Center as well as a cut-away model of the Nauvoo Temple.
Our quaint downtown has shops, art galleries, museums & local eateries. No groceries stores in Nauvoo, but we do have a very well equipped & stocked Dollar General, just no fresh produce.
For major groceries you can go north to Fort Madison or south to Keokuk, both on the Iowa side of the Mississippi. There is a Walmart in Keokuk, Iowa on the far side of town.
One of our favorite things to do is walk or bike the Riverwalk trail with interpretative signs about the river & wildlife. You will see amazing birdlife & views along the river, even some local fairy houses. The are several bike & recreational vehicle rentals available.
We live in Nauvoo and please don't hesitate to contact me for any needs or questions. So happy to have you stay!
