The owners live in West Virginia but have relatives close to the camp in Maine. The camp renting process is handled by a local relative.
Lise Collins purchased this cottage in 2003
Besides having relatives in the area, we love the scenery of Northern Maine and the friendliness of the people who live there.
The area is well-known for its winter activities of snowmobiling, ice fishing and cross country skiing. The fall is absolutely beautiful. Summer on the lake is a great time for swimming, water skiing, fishing, sailing, canoeing and wildlife viewing. For several years, there have been resident families of loons which are beautiful to see and hear.
We enjoyed our stay at the camp/house. Everything was perfect, the camp, the weather and the location. We will definitely be returning. Thank you
This cottage is just the place for a great week at Madawaska Lake. We found it to extremely well equipped from the kitchen all the way through to the bedrooms. The main living area opens right out to the lakefront and a large yard for sunbathing and relaxing. There are games and books available if you choose to indulge in a quiet afternoon or evening. For the active vacationer there's a canoe available, trails to hike, bike and mountain bike. All in all we had a very enjoyable vacation.
Just got back from our stay and the place was better than advertised! It was just what we needed for grown children and grandchildren visiting. The weather was unusually cold -19 wind chill, so ice fishing and outdoor activities were a little rough but we still managed to enjoy our week. The place had great beds, lots of space, and a great waterfront location!
This was our second stay at this "camp". On both occasions, the experience has been wonderful. The home has all the amenities and we would recommend it without hesitation to anyone hoping to enjoy a fantastic stay at Madawaska Lake.
We were in the area for a wedding, and the house at Lake Madawaska was wonderful. The house was in great condition, and the views were breathtaking. We would definitely stay here again!!
Just back from a 3 day stay on Madawaska Lake. The accommodations and location were absolutely perfect for our family....and better than advertised.
The camp leaves nothing to be desired in terms of the amenities...the kitchen is stocked with EVERYTHING you could possibly need for your stay. The living space was clean and comfortable....and the wireless access was a pleasant treat. My only suggestion for an improvement would be the outdoor seating....the plastic chairs provided were flimsy and unsteady on the uneven ground
Our kids caught more fish than we could count from the dock and surrounding streams, made use of the canoe on the lake and roasted marshmallows over the fire-pit at night.
A+. Thanks for a great stay.
