Wonderful Cabin with the best location and no mountain to climb. Super Clean!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I as well as our best friends spent the weekend here as a last minute shopping trip and to get away from the kids. We were 4 adults who were wanting 2 private bedrooms and 2 baths. This cabin more than met our needs. It is very tastefully decorated and clean!!! We had plenty of towels even though we used the hot tub and showers everyday. The beds were very comfortable as well. We did not use the kitchen to cook anything so I can not review on how well it was stocked but everything seemed to be more than adaquate in every other way. We do this trip every year and have rented a few cabins. This is by far the best for us. Its not far from the action but far enough to enjoy some quiet. The only issue we had at all was our fault. LOL We thought it would be nice to have the fire place going and it was until the upstairs got extremely hot. So if you plan on sleeping upstairs turn the fireplace off about an hour before heading to bed unless it is snowing or extremely cold.

Family Fun Trip

  • 5 of 5

We traveled with my husband and 4 year old daughter along with my college best friend and her husband for 5 day stay in the Smoky Mountains. From the pictures, I though the second bedroom was actually "in the loft" but was excited to find that it was a separate bedroom upstairs. The loft did have a futon, gaming systems, a billiards table and standard board games for daddy and daughter to play their first game of battleship together. We did minimal cooking in the cabin but it was well stocked if that's the way you travel. I was concerned from reading other cabin reviews about how steep driveways can be. It was somewhat elevated, but never was an issue for us and I drive a Lexus ES350 sedan. We just backed in and it worked perfectly. We parked that car and my friend's supercab Trunda with no issue. The home was clean and well maintained and the decor was cute without being over the top "hokie" for a mountain cabin. We were supper impressed. There was ample seating inside and out and the hot tub accommodated all four adults easily and comfortably. There was plenty of room for two families to feel they had their own privacy. The linens provided were ample for our needs and the place was so CLEAN. The location is perfect to attend dinners and shows in the Pigeon Forge area and the drive to Rainbow Falls Hike in the National Park was only about 15 minutes away. Alpine Village is literally across from two great attractions we visited, Titanic and The Hatfield McCoy Dinner Show. The Apple Barn is about 5 minutes away, the Comedy Barn probably a little less. Trips to downtown Gatlinburg were only about 10 minutes. The pride of ownership shows. My best friend and her husband slept in the master suite and will likely be buying a bed just like the one they slept on when they get home. The way the cabin is positioned, even though you are in a resort, you still have plenty of privacy on the back deck. The owners were responsive in booking and responded to the unnecessary check out email I sent within a few hours. This is not a trip we make regularly, but when we do, we will stay here again. Thank you for sharing your home. My 4 year old now calls it her "Mountain Home". She can be a little possessive. She has a "Beach Home" too, but this was definitely a place that felt like home away from home.

Nice cabin, close to everything

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a weekend getaway. It was last minute and the owner was very easy to work with. It is perfect for 1 family. We had 2 adults and twin 3 yo. It has plenty of space and the cost is great. The location is wonderful. It close to most main attractions but far enough away that it is peaceful at the house.

Only a few minor comments. There were a few ants in the downstairs master bath. Just FYI for the owner because easy to fix if caught early. It would be nice to have a dish drainer and 1 extra dish towel. With small kids you wash cups etc frequently. A regular 13 gallon trash can in the kitchen would be great. Again with small kids we filled up the small trash can many times.

Also for owner, a raccoon or some animal managed to get in the garbage container. We had the container closed and the "lock" through but it still managed to push open the door and squeeze through the small space. Not sure if there is much else you can do to prevent that.

Post the phone # to the cabin on the fridge, welcome book, or phone. For some reason, the delivery places would not take our order without a local phone #. This was fairly frustrating. The owner did reply to my email with a phone #. It was greatly appreciated.

One last note, the road to the cabin and the driveway are steep, awkward. I would be concerned about staying here in winter conditions.

These were very minor issues. The cabin, price, and location are definitely worth it.

GREAT CABIN, WONDERFUL LOCATION!!

  • 5 of 5

My son, 2 y.o grandson and I spent 3 days at Smoky Mountain Dreams and it was perfect for us in every way. In terms of this ad, the cabin is absolutley as represented in every way - location, appearance, amenities. The floorplan is wonderful and will easily accommodate 8 persons. Furnishings are comfortable, the beds great (I have a bad back, so this is #1), back porch hot tub is private, kitchen is wonderful, and the cabin very clean. Loved the whirlpool tub on the main level. It was too cold to use the community pool, but would be great in warmer weather. Finally, the location met our needs perfectly: close enough to everything to not have to drive forever while still feeling like we were away from the crowds. We generally shy away from locations within a community, but even with almost every cabin nearby occupied, it was still peaceful and quiet. It has all the technology you need (internet, TVs) but hope you don’t end up using on vacation. As this was a last-minute trip, tying down the rental quickly was essential, and the owners were fantastic in answering all my questions, providing directions, etc. I have paid more for similar rentals, so I don’t think you can go wrong with Smoky Mountain Dreams!

SPRING BREAK 2011

  • 5 of 5

My family and I rented this cabin a week ago. We had a great time. The cabin was very nice and spacious. There were 3 of us and we had plenty of room. We had all the amenities of home (blender, coffee maker, & dishwasher). Dawn (the owner) was very professional, replied to my e-mails promptly and very pleasant to do business with. This vacation went off without a hitch. We enjoyed the cabin and hope to do business with Dawn again for our next trip!! Thank you so much Dawn!!
