Cozy Retreat
Review Submitted: September 1, 2009
Date of Stay: July 2009
We rented here in July 2009 with our three kids ages 9-3. With the futon, two twin beds and queen we were all comfortable. The cabin is rustic in a very charming way. The neighborhood is quiet with lots of families on bikes and walking to the beach. There is an air conditioner but the cabin is so shaded and cool we kept the windows open to catch a breeze and hear the birds. We walked to the beach everyday and think we will bring a small rolling cart next time for the beach chairs. Even a short trip with those can be a burden! And it is a short trip to Douglas beach which is small but great for kids. It never seemed crowded and I never lost sight of the kids. Very relaxing for a mom of three. We went to the farmers market, climbed Mt. Baldy, played in the dunes at Oval beach (kid fave) and ate our weight in ice cream in downtown Saugatuck. The kids keep talking about going back to the cabin and seeing more sunsets. We reassure them that we will definitely be back next year. From the prompt replies to my initial inquiries, to the forgotten shoe that was sent after we got home and everything in between we were well taken care of.
