COMFORTABLE STUDIO APARTMENT - BEACH 35 YARDS, HOLETOWN 500 YARDS

Holetown Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Perfect for couples or a group of 3 friends.

Comfortable apartment in beautifully kept tropical gardens just steps from the white coral sands, crystal blue waters and palm trees of Discovery Bay. The apartment is bright and airy with colourful fabrics, hardwood and cane furniture, and fans providing a cooling breeze. There is a very well equipped kitchen so you can rustle up anything from freshly caught tuna to a rum punch for sun downers. Enjoy watching humming birds feeding among the hibiscus and monkeys scampering up trees as you relax on the balcony. A wide range of bars and restaurants, an excellent supermarket and duty free shopping are all just a short walk away in Holetown. If you need to keep in touch there is free wireless broadband access for your laptop.

Eating and Drinking: Zacchios Restaurant is a favourite 5 minutes stroll away with water side eating at sensible prices. Nearby Inn on the Beach has a great value buffet lunch and lovely setting. Surfside Bar & Restaurant has a great Happy Hour, simple beach menu and TV screens for sports lovers. Coxies and Groots are popular bars a short walk North and Lexy Piano Bar enlivens the town. Holetown's First and Second Streets offer a mix including Mediterranean, Bajan, South Indian, Italian and Asian restaurants. For upmarket dining Tides and The Mews deserve their reputations. Further afield The Fish Pot, North of Speightstown is worth the bus ride - as is Cariba to the South. To eat like the locals try the roadside vans - or the fish frys at Oistins and Half Moon Fort. Patisserie Flint can ease you into another laid back day with a latte and delicious banana bread. If you just want to sit on a beach with a rum punch Harry our gardener has a family recipe and will gladly mix you a bottle of his finest.

Beaches around the island: Discovery Bay and Settlers beaches are ideal for swimming with gently shelving sand, jet ski free areas marked by buoys & floating platforms for diving or sunbathing. If you want to chill in the shade with a good book they are fringed with Coconut Palms & Casuarina trees & Bougainvillea adding a splash of colour. Water skiing and other aqua sports are available on the beach - or you can book ahead at Sandpiper's kiosk. Mullins & Gibbs beaches are 4 miles north, Sandy Lane beach 2 miles south. Brighton beach just north of Bridgetown has a glorious expanse of sand + the delightfully laid back Weisers Bar.The South East Coast is a favourite place with all types of surfer. The East Coast is a complete contrast - almost deserted with big Atlantic rollers crashing in rather than the gentle Caribbean Sea. It is rugged and beautiful but beware of the dangerous undertow in many places. Crane Beach is superb - with a great deli en route. Best eating places there: The Cove & The Crane.

Barbados and the Bajans offer so much: Barbados is a very beautiful island, with lots of art, activities, nightlife, music, history, great restaurants. But what makes Barbados special, and the reason so many visitors return year after year, is the Bajans who are warm, charming, always ready with a smile. They make you feel welcome and really at home on this lovely Caribbean Island. - - Do try a half day catamaran cruise up the West coast with lunch, drinks, wreck snorkeling and a swim with turtles. It departs just by Art Studio. - - Barbados has a reputation for having the finest golf in the Caribbean, with championship at Sandy Lane & Royal Westmoreland 5 minutes away and Royal Barbados Golf Club further south. - - Also: Kensington Oval, best known of all West Indian Cricket Grounds - - Rum distillery tour and rum shops - - Wildlife Reserve (north) - - Andromeda Botanical Gardens (east) - - Harrison's cave with impressive stalactites & and stalagmites (centre) - - the largest military garrison in the Caribbean. - - Enjoy.

We live in Cambridge UK with Katy and Sammy who are 12 and 10.

They love swimming with the turtles and the fresh fish at Ju Ju's Beach Restaurant.

Sarah or Simon Ellis purchased this apartment in 2000

We bought Art Studio on our 3rd trip to Barbados. The Bajans are the friendliest people we have ever met, fantastic with children and wonderfully laid back.

35 yards/metres from the beach.

Lovely tropical gardens

1. My thanks for a wonderful stay in your appt last week. It was a great escape and an enjoyable first glimpse of Barbados! I thoroughly enjoyed it but didn't really do justice to all the places to see and visit in the time I was there but it gives me a good reason to go back. 2. Thanks for a brilliant holiday in Art Studio. We had a great time. Please pass our thanks to Harry, Audrey & Helena. 3. We had a fantastic time thank you very much. 4. We enjoyed our Christmas break at Art Studios. It was a great place to be for 2 weeks. Harry & Audrey were great. 5. We had a lovely time - just what we needed - nothing nicer than a tan for the New Year.

A simple private apartment beachside of the west coast road. Easy access to beach (2 mins walk) where there is great swimming. Short walk to the shops and restaurants. Self catering easy with full size oven and hob/microwave and fridgefreezer and necessary equipment. Comfy big bed, good shower and lots of hot water. Balcony perfect for lazy breakfast and lunch out of the sun. Fabulous staff who keep a low profile but provide excellent service. Gardens beautifully kept. Linen changed 3 times a week and the apartment well looked after by the dedicated staff. I would highly recommend this apartment for a couple looking for a low budget holiday with a real comfy home from home experience. You can walk to Sandy Lane to witness the high life!

I would like to congratulate Simon and Sarah and the staff at Art Studio for making such a nice restful place for us to stay. Harry the gardener made us some superb rum punch and Audrey the housekeeper looked after us very well. It was fantastic to have a beautiful beach right on our doorstep. We enjoyed the happy hour at Surfside bar just along the beach many times and alsdo the stylish Inn on the Beach just a bit further along. This is a beautiful island with beautiful people on it who are so very friendly. It is good to go over to the other side of the island on the East Coast where there are more lovely beaches and very big waves. We had dinner at Cariba whcih was a delight, Spago on the beach near us and a very nice Chinese Restaurant by the Pool at Golden View which is a short walk up the hill. Thank you!

Happy Holetown, beautiful Barbados!

A delightful studio apartment, small but perfectly formed! The only reason we haven't given it 5 stars is because the vista from the balcony is a little disappointing. Apart from that it had everything we needed and was beautifully looked after by Audrey and Harry. The location is great for the beach, for restaurants and shops and also for adventuring. Old favourites for us were the Tides, Mews and Fish Pot, all as good as ever. Great new discoveries were Sunbury Plantation House and Andromeda Botanical Gardens. It is certainly worth having a car for at least part of the holiday so you have the freedom to properly discover places off the beaten track. The information provided by Simon and Sarah is second to none, so detailed and helpful and the back up once you have made your booking is caring and personal. Thank you for a perfect and much needed holiday, you even got the weather spot on!

Our stay at Art Studios was just perfect. This was my 16th visit to Barbados but my first at these studios and certainly will not be my last! The studio was well equipped, beds were very comfy and the large shower was good. We really enjoyed the large balcony where there was a lovely breeze. Harry & Audrey were always around for a chat and to help with absolutley anything! Audrey even sorted out some washing for me which was a god-send.
The beach is just a short stroll and we sat outside Settlers Villas stretch of beach where there was shade from the Palm trees.
Surfside bar is great for its happy hour and we also ate from Papa Earls who sells great veggie food just across the main road from Art Studios each day. Wonderful!
Thank-you and we will be back!
