'A Kid's Kastle' (two Bedroom/two Bath) construction was just finished December 21, 2005 on this new beach house. It is just half a block from the beach with easy beach access. (Our street ends at the ocean.) The ocean views from the house are incredible!! We have everything that a family could dream of: Nickelodeon Kid's Suite, Air Hockey Table, Electronic Dart Board, Nintendo 64 video game system (with games), Basketball Goal, three TVs, Video Cassette and DVD players, a collection of movies, kids board games, Yahtzee, Uno, Cards and an Outer Space bathroom. One side of the house has ocean views and the other overlooks Swan Lake. There is a huge deck for sunning or just relaxing. There is also an outside shower to rinse off after playing at the beach. Fantastic, affordable get away!

Our family stayed in a Kid's Kastle this past summer and it was fantastic. We're hoping to go back this coming summer for another family trip. Surfside is much more laid back than Galveston and the pace of life there is slow...and contagious! This was one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever taken.

I do recommend lots of mosquito spray in the summer and the beach is way less crowded during the week...it gets busy on the weekend.

Also, take the beach pails! Our 2 year old spent hours looking for seashells and digging in the sand.

This beach house was everything we expected - and more! It is a very clean , nicely decorated house with all the amenities of home. We had a small "glitch" with the water heater on Saturday, but the owner's were available by phone - an all was taken care of quickly!. Great proximity to the beach, and we hope to be back next year!!! Thank you to the owners who were prompt with all correspondence, and were available when needed!

Nice new home with a small town family setting, which is what we were looking for. The weather did not cooperate mid-March but we still had fun crabbing at the pier and lots of good places to eat. Short jaunt to Galveston also so we took a ride for a couple days there. Home is nice, clean, and quiet with a nice deck to enjoy. The only thing we would recommend is a grill.

Rained all week

Although it rained all week, we had a good time going to Sea Center Of Texas, Moody Gardens and some other places around town. The house was clean and neat and nicely decorated. We had a few issues with refridgerator not working and airconditioning not working properly because of stopped up filters. I think they need new maintenance people to keep up with things. The house is also on the corner of a busy hwy., not good for kids. You could also hear cars going by all night long. I would not rent this property again.
