BEAUTIFUL YEAR-ROUND LAKEFRONT HOME ON THE BARBEE CHAIN OF LAKES

My family LOVED this house. We are a family of four adults and because of work schedules were only able to be at the house all together for 2 days of the week. The rest of the week 2-3 of us were there together with 1-2 dogs. There was plenty of parking to accommodate all four cars. The house is at the end of a dead end street. The neighbors are very friendly but not overwhelming.
The pier has a ladder at the end of it for swimming or the bank is easy to get in and out of even for my mom with bad knees. The water goes from calf deep to well over head on a gradual increase from shore to end of the pier. The pier is long and very stable. The water is clear and the ground is sandy/solid under about 6 inches of usual lake muck. There are lots of swans, turtles, ducks, birds and other wildlife to watch. There is also an awesome huge old tree in the yard to provide plenty of shade at anytime of day.
The house is much bigger then it looks from the outside. The master bedroom is attached to the 2nd bath which has 2 sinks and a walk in closet. The master bedroom now has a new queen size mattress that is very comfortable. The 2nd bedroom is a nice size. The extra room is also a nice size with trendal style twin beds that allow more floor room if needed. The twin bed mattresses are older and we ended up padding them with blankets for comfort. Each room has a closet and a ceiling fan. My favorite room was the sun room. It is open with big windows all around, but can still be air conditioned or closed off and opened up. The living room has a beautiful view of the lake out the picture window. My family usually ate breakfast in the sun room lunch at the bar/counter in the kitchen and dinner at the dinning room table.
The house was very accommodating to my large dog. There is a nice size side yard for fetch and bathrooming. My dog is big on swimming and could easily get in and out of the water on the shore. There is a paver patio and a sidewalk that leads to the pier which provides plenty of non- muddy paw wiping area before going into the house.
The town is just the right size and very friendly. Within a short drive there is a Wal-mart and Menards, but there are also small shops around. We went on the Dixie boat and would suggest it to everyone young or old. LuAnne has put together a very helpful binder with MapQuest directions to stores and local attractions.
I was sad to leave and hope to come back really soon.
