My house has been renovated to include new HVAC, appliances, windows, doors and plumbing. It is a well-appointed and cozy raised cottage with a 360 degree wrap-around deck. It boasts great views of the Oak Island Light House and a panoramic view of the marsh, which includes a view of the Coast Guard Station, Intracoastal Waterway, the town of Southport and the Cape Fear River and Sound.
The location is wonderful, as it is across the street from the beach access and the time to get there is measured in seconds, not minutes. As there is no public parking allowed on our end of the street, only residents have access to miles of pristine beach. At high tide we still have 50 yards of white sand on which to play. There is almost always a sea breeze for your kites and to take the edge off the summer heat.
After a tough day on the beach, fishing, golfing or exploring come back home and shower downstairs in the large private space/dressing room with hot water. There is a hammock for two if you just cannot make it up the stairs yet.
In addition to a complete kitchen, there is a charcoal grill downstairs for that outdoor flavor, just be careful with the coals!!
After dinner, grab a cold drink, sit in one of the rocking chairs and watch the lights come on across the waterway in Southport which will begin to look like a Pirate’s Treasure chest!
You will find a grocery store, an excellent seafood market, and a produce stand on the island. Oak Island Golf Course (one of the top 100 in NC) is less than a mile down Caswell Beach Road (number 14 is tough). Oak Island offers two fishing piers, two public marinas, three boat/canoe ramps, bike paths, and canoe trails.
Across the Intracoastal Waterway, Southport is charming with beautiful live oaks, a waterfront park, historic homes, a public Arts Center, excellent restaurants, galleries, and quaint shops. Take a ferry ride to Bald Head Island for the day (they have a light house too) or an auto ferry to Fort Fisher Aquarium or keep going to explore historic Wilmington.

I have two homes in the local area and I just cannot bear to have this wonderful place sit idle when vacationers from around the globe could experience what I have enjoyed for the last 10 years. Come to Caswell Beach and avoid the crowds for a quiet vacation or take off for the mainland for more activities when the mood strikes. A ferry to Fort Fisher or ferry to Bald Head Island. Or just walk down the block to take in our very own lighthouse.
I purchased here because Caswell Beach offers a quiet, relaxing, non-commercial and uncrowded setting. There is no public parking/access to the beach at the eastern end of my street, meaning only residents have access, thereby limiting use and crowds. There is only one block of homes to the east, then a mile of deserted beach.
An abundance of peace and quiet found here with spectacular views. You will have quick access to many activities within an easy drive; from Myrtle Beach for more great golf, food, shopping, shows and nightlife to the south, or north to Wilmington's quaint streets, movie sets, museums, aquarium, and riverfront activities. Fishing tours, sunset cruises and sailing are readily available here in the area.
If you call for reservations, you can climb the Oak Island Lighthouse. It is 153 feet high and affords an awesome view.
