Camp Richardson Cross-Country Ski Center: Off Hwy. 89 on the way to Emerald Bay, South Lake Tahoe.
Heavenly's New Mountain Adventure Center: 2.5 kilometers of gently rolling cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails.
Pope Beach: 1.5 miles from cabin(About two miles from the cabin up Hwy 89, nice and casual, $5.00 parking fee, they have picnic tables and BBQs).
Camp Richardson: 2 miles from cabin (Party beach with rock cover band, Beacon Café serves decent food and cocktails, boat rentals too, $5.00 parking fee).
Tallac Beach: 2.5 miles from cabin (Quiet and serene location, quaint museum for the old lodge, no parking fee)
Angora Lakes - A half- mile hike to Upper Angora Lake with a nice beach for kids to play on and kayaks for rent by the hour.
DL Bliss State Park - About 14 miles from the cabin, past Emerald Bay.
Tallac Historical Site- A small history museum and exhibits, gardens and sandy beaches.
Camp Richardson - Nearest place to rent paddle boats, jet skis, motor boats. Also horseback riding at the stables across the road.
