Beaver Cove House Rental Photos and Description

Experience the log home difference (Sleeps 7-10)

(Moosehead's most popular lakefront rental has gotten even better with many additions and upgrades for 2014, including a completely new kitchen with new appliances, an all new and larger dock with a detachable swim float, several new premium cedar furnishings in the great room, new premium bedding sets and curtains in bedrooms, larger front deck/steps and more)

'Spencer View' provides the optimal blend of rustic charm, wilderness feel, modern comforts, and access to a vast variety of outdoor activities. Few who visit are unaffected by this home's 'spell of relaxation' by day-two. Tasteful lodge decorating touches throughout. The home is much larger than photos suggest. Subtle wildlife themes in baths and guest bedrooms. Always impressive, and often exceptional views of Little Spencer Mountain and Sugar island from the front sliders and the 25 foot deck. The great room features two story vaulted ceiling with fan and massive fieldstone fireplace with electric wood elevator. Carpeted loft has four double beds with privacy curtains. Six person hot tub with integral stereo system, waterfall and light effects. Two car log garage and room for up to an additional 4 vehicles. Sandy beach area adjoins the dock. Water levels in the inner cove are sometimes low in the late summer and fall. Stereo system with speakers in great room and basement. Direct satellite TV. Regulation pool, foosball and ping pong tables, dart board, treadmill, rowing and XC ski machines, Soloflex and more in heated basement. Crisp, clear, warm September and early October days allow provide even more peace and quiet. Late Spring is another season not to be overlooked, with few mud or bug issues due to lake point location. Almost daily spotting of deer, loons and waterfowl, and occasional sightings of fox, grouse, bald eagles and more. Situated 2.5 miles down a 3 mile long well maintained gravel road that dead-ends on the tip of Black Point. Boat access from nearby Lily Bay State Park. This property is a great 'base lodge' for access to the regions legendary hunting and fishing opportunities. In the magical winter season you can XC ski out the front door 1/3 mile along the shore to groomed trails in the park. There is easy lake access to ITS snowmobile trails on both sides of Black Point. Downhill skiing at Big Squaw is about a 25 minute drive to the other side of the lake, although only the lower mountain lift is currently operational. Beautiful Enclave

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I stayed 4 nights that went much too fast at this beautiful lake house! The home has everything that you would need for a wonderfully relaxing stay, peaceful and very picturesque! The home is super spacious and has something for everyone! We had a canoe delivered which was very easy from town and allowed easy access to the water! We saw tons of wildlife and the trees changing color was amazing! We plan on returning in the future we loved it so much!!!!

Great place!

Overall, great experience. Great spot on a little inlet. Would love to check it out during the summer. We actually had a very small wedding out on the frozen lake and celebrated our honeymoon there. Snowmobiling from the property was a great plus. Lots of stuff to keep you occupied at the cabin, it hit -0 temps for days at a time while we were there so we spent lots of time inside. Hot tub was great too. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars was the wood. We were provided with essentially 2 fires (couple hours) worth of wood. It was mentioned that there was extra wood that you could purchase in the garage, and that no outside firewood was allowed. When we were there there was no additional wood available (or rather it was locked away, the additional available wood bucket empty) and given that we were there for 11 days, on our honeymoon, we wanted to be able to have more than 2 fires. It won't deter us from re-visiting.

Owner's Response: My apologies for the issues with the firewood. There must have been some miscommunication with our maintenance people. You should have been given the equivalent of two wheel barrels full for free, with additional quantities available on request for a $25 fee. In any case, the firewood policy was changes since your stay. Full week renters still get the two free wheel barrels but additional quantities are now available on the honor system from the now unlocked bin. I am pleased that everything else was up to your expectations and would like to offer you a rate adjustment on your next stay, as compensation for the wood issue.

Little Slice of Heaven!

My boyfriend and I just spent the last 5 nights at this wonderful house right on the lake! It is in a quiet little cove down a long, beautiful road. Although there is room to sleep many many more, it was a great romantic getaway for the two of us and our dogs. The owner Kim was so gracious and allowed us a last minute extension of our stay because we didn't want to leave! Relaxing in this cozy log cabin next to the fireplace was great at the end of a long day of snowmobiling right onto the lake and miles and miles of trails or snowshoeing across the lake all from the backyard. The hot tub is SO nice and has a bajillion settings to sooth your sore muscles. We soaked and watched the sun set and the mountains turn pink across the lake, it was amazing. Every night we played pool in the basement - but there's also a ping pong and fooz ball table there! The house has all of the amenities you need and it felt like a lot of TLC was put into every aspect of it. It is the perfect location, a short distance to town, the grocery store, restaurant/bars, and Northern Outdoors where we rented some gear. We also went dog sledding with Mark Patterson at Lone Wolf Guiding Services - HIGHLY suggest this! Overall a fantastic place to vacation and we look forward to returning in the future, hopefully in summer when we can see some moose!

Relaxing Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the cabin at Moosehead Lake. The view was second to none, the cabin was clean and layout well thought out with all the amenities of home. Our dogs were worn out every night after a short driving distance to many hiking trails. Rented kayaks for the week and despite a little rain we went out every morning right from the cabin. We were there for the FLY-IN in Greenville, dozens of sea planes landing and taking off. Can't wait to go back to hike, relax and enjoy the views. Thank you for a memorable vacation.

Wonderfully Relaxing! A BEAUTIFUL Place!!

We just got back from Maine and I realize I never wrote in your notebook. Thank you so much for giving us such a wonderful family vacation!! We had so much fun and came back fully recharged and rejuvenated. It is the first time I have heard my husband say he wished I had booked two weeks because one wasn't enough. We loved your cabin! It had everything we needed and more. The boys loved sleeping in the loft and playing pool in the basement with their dad. But, I think what they loved the most was feeding the chipmunks every morning off of the back porch. Waking up to the loons was delightful!

We did so much in just a few days. With your recommendation, we were sure to use Jack's Air Service. Jack was enjoyable and the boys and their dad had a fantastic time. We hiked Elephant Mountain and saw the B-52 crash site. We went to Spencer Pond and Ragged Lake to fish and to Lily Bay State Park to swim. We went to the Birches and took a Moose Safari ride led by Jim, a fellow Philadelphian. The last day it rained, but we went to Greenville and walked through their Historical Museum. The women who was there was great and had the boys do a scavenger hunt, searching for clues to her 25 questions. They never realized they were learning. Then we decided to try the West Outlet and Indian Pond. We were catching perch and small mouth constantly. They weren't big, but the boys were just happy catching something. Most early evenings were spent back at the cabin swimming and feeding the ducks while I fixed dinner. I have a great shot of the boys building castles in the sand, while a duck looks at them from your dock.

Thanks for the hospitality! We really did enjoy ourselves!!

Everything you could ask for and MORE!!

Your cabin is GORGEOUS!! We came to Maine for snowmobiling and got soo much more. The trails were very easy to get too, the lake was frozen so it was great to sled right out the back of the house :) There was a family for 4 deer that came to visit every day making for an incredible experience being that close to nature. The house was immaculate!! The neighbor next door was super sweet. I will be recommending this cabin to all my friends and I sincerely look forward to renting this cabin again. Thanks for letting us enjoy your little piece of heaven :)
